Overlord. I liked most of it, but more customisation wouldn't have hurt, and, oh yes, CLEAR ROUTES TO WHERE YOU NEED TO GO! It took me three hours to work out that damn Forest place. >.>
Yeah that game was good, but damn that forest level.

The Godfather 2 was good, but it could have been great, if EA had worked more on the cities and hired better beta testers than baby chimps with no arms.

Far Cry 2 could have been amazing, if every single person in Africa wouldn't want to kill you. If I work for someone, I expect his soldiers NOT to shoot at me. And the checkpoints were far too many. And let's not forget the fucking stupid gaming rule - if it's an FPS, the protagonist MUST NOT SPEAK for teh immersionz.

Warhammer Online.

All they had to do was copy the good bits of WoW, and leave out the bad bits. How hard could that possibly be?

When WoW copies something you marketed as your USP, and does it better... it's time to quit.

Oh yeah DS games, the majority of them too. It's like the developers were so deseperate to get their game out before a rival company releases one pretty much the same with a slightly different name that they couldn't be bothered to spend that little bit longer making it better. Though some of them are disasters of games and should just never have been made.

Far Cry 2. It was a very good game, in my opinion, and was definitely much better than average. However, it could have been great if...YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO WALK ACROSS THE ENTIRE F****** CONTINENT OF AFRICA EVERY F****** TIME YOU WERE TOLD TO GO BLOW SOMETHING UP!!!!

Ubisoft..I have 2 words for you....FAST TRAVEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, you managed to miss the bus stops, did you?

I'm gonna agree with Mirror's Edge. They shouldn't have set the second half of the game in interior environments that completely ruined the flow of the game, and they should have incorporated a free roam mode around the city.

Edit: They also should have had an interesting storyline. The whole idea of messengers was great, but they failed to capitalise on it.
No, I know about the bus stops. But would it have killed them to have it to fast travel between safe houses? or to add more bus stops. 2.5 square kilometers, and only 5 stops? There should have at least been 8 or 9.
I guess it never bothered me. Sure, there were only 5 stops in each section of the map, but they were fairly well placed. I never found myself miles away from one, and there was always one near enough to where I needed to be.

Fallout, um... COD5 could have been better with a less powerful MP40. Assassin's Creed was EXTREMELY BORING once you got one third into the game. Runescape, even though reviled, could be made into the best MMO in existence pretty easily. Halo 3's matchmaking isn't pleasing. Um, and Gears of War. It should be made so that I own it.

How was Oblivion flawed? If boredom was a problem then you've been playing it wrong or are not the type for massive single player RPGs. Vanilla oblivion could get annoying once you've finished it, but Shivering Isles is awesome. Very. LOTS.

Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia 4 because of their horrendous combat.
Overlord for its over all, "fuck you" attitude to the player
Dead Rising-why in gods name would a zombie game not have auto save or quality gun controls?
Zelda Phantom Hour Glass-constantly returning to the same level.
Pikmin-the whole timer system seemed unnecessary.

Too Human.

That game could have been one of the best games around, if the developers hadn't been so fucking stupid.

The design choices are ridiculous(I'm looking at you, Valkyrie), and sucked out any fun from the game.

It could have been so good, but in the end was shit.

Assassin's Creed. I loved that game, but that's in spite of its major design flaws. It certainly had huge potential to be one of the best games ever, and could have been right up there with the Half-Life series and Portal, but I think the developers may have rushed the game out the doors a little too early. Hopefully the next one will clear everything up. I hear that it will at least not be as repetitive.

i can't believe i'm gonna be the first one to say S.T.A.L.K.E.R! that game looked amazing right the way through development, right up until about a month before release when they basically went "crap, we need to actually release this or no one'll buy it! right everyone, stick uncrossable fences across the map to hide the crappy memory problems, no vehicles and no testing it before it hits the shelves!"
I agree. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was a good game, but it could have been a GREAt game. Clear Sky seems to have picked up some of the slack and incorporated some of the features that they meant to include in S.T.A.L.K.E.R., but it still doesn't achieve what it was intended.

i agree there is very little origanility in DS games, but if i had to pick one to be better, id have to pick PKMN Platinum, it was basicly a slightly differnt version of Dimond and Peral. oh and FFVI could have been better if it had been toned down a little in intencity

kane and lynch, I finished it. I enjoyed it, great story and characters. Game play was extremely frustrating. K&L should have had a project quality audit...
