not really cry as much, but mission 3 of the original Homeworld, where you return from your hyperspace test, always made me wince/made me really REALLY angry

Made the game seem like a crusade for justice

Although I haven't played the games on which they're based, the anime CLANNAD and the sequel, After Story made me cry my eyes out

Surprisingly, FFXIII. I felt it was a really middle of the road game, wasn't terribly into it. But the ending just got to me.

KEY has something of a reputation for that with their games; I'm definitely looking forward to Clannad for that reason.

I'd look forward to Air, as well, but I don't think anyone's translating it, and I doubt my Japanese will be good enough to read it any time soon.

hmm, I know there have been a fair few, but I actually can't think of them right now... they were all very touching.

Silent Hill 2, you know that one ending
Where you admit to your wife that you killed her out of hate, but then she comforts you and says that if that was true then you wouldn't be crying

That ending is beautiful.

I can't figure out how to put videos on the fourns, so here's a link.
Between the sadness in her voice, the irony in the letter, and the sad foggy graveyard, this part didn't make me cry, but I had to fight back tears.
Not only that, but the ending before this letter is already tear jerking. It's already been mentioned.

None. I don't think I've come particularly close. However, other fictional media rarely moves me to tears either, so I think that's more to do with me than the games I've played.

I have never cried due to a video game. I will never cry due to a video game.
Took the words right out of my mouth, my friend. I've never had a video game affect me in such a way.

My Mass Effect 2 Ending

I lost Thane, Garrus, Grunt, Samara and Miranda all in that order. And considering Garrus was my favorite character of sorts, and i always considered him something of my shepherds buddy (Always in my party), it was a shock to lose him.

Mgs 4 was the most bleak and depressing game I've ever played i was obsessed with the with the series as a teenager. As i played Mgs 4 a voice in my head was going this is it this is the end of one of your most beloved characters.
Oh, god, the sequence right before the end. You know the one I mean. I was sobbing so hard I almost failed.
This also counts, as well as when you lose Caim and Angelus in Drakengard 2.

So i've had FFVII, Gears 2 spoiled.

Anyone else care to join in? Spoiled my damn desire to play FFVII, thanks, never will play that trash now.

How about I spoil something too, as you 'must have finished it'.

Red Dead Redemption, HE DIES. Crap ending, not emotionally moving AT ALL. Cutscenes are boring and unintuitive. Guess what, I haven't finished it, this board itself spoiled it.

But on an un-ranting topic, never cried for any ending, MGS4 nope, series is still going, so no. Abe's Oddysee as it was one of my favourite games as a kid, just sad to see it end.

I cry everytime I realise how Australians get screwed over with 3 month+ release dates from everywhere else.

Huh, maybe I'm a heartless *****, but I laughed during "that" part in Gears 2. I just couldn't take it seriously. >.>

Anyway, no games have ever made me cry. The only form of media that have made me cry are books.

Dogmeat showed up out of nowhere when I was leading the scientists out of the Jefferson Memorial. That would've been okay, but when I got to the door with the Brotherhood soliders, they totally lit him up and killed him. I reloaded a save, but I was just like 'WTF'.
