Im thinking the Fable Trilogy put into one movie.
If told correctly and tweaked a bit, it might work as any other medieval movie?

And yes... As long as Uwe Boll is in gamemovietown, I am certainly staying out x.x

if Tabletop-games count as well:

- Battletech (but in the oldschool FASA-Style not the new crap)
- Games Workshops WH FB and WH 40k

Assuming that the movie would be a faithful adaptation of the game that respected existing canon and catered mainly to existing fans (which is impossible) I'd like to see a Mass Effect or Halo movie.

None... Games are a visual medium anyway, why make them into movies? Isn't Half Life good enough already?

I was aware of it but thanks anyways.

I was thinking of a big budget Live-Action movie.
Battletech had a short lived cartoon series as well but something with a production value and the looks of say Transformers or even something like the mech scenes of Disctrict 9 would be awesome...

Do you remember The Punisher game? King Kong game? effing Goldeneye? It IS possible to make a decent game out of a movie. Just doesent happen often.
Well, the fact that "Do you remember" was the first part of your statement could just include that it was possible, but now the majority of attempts are going to end up down the drain.

what about assassin's creed series wrapped up into a movie?

besides, with most games you could probably turn them into a half decent movie, i imagine?

I second the Portal idea, if done right it could be a very atmospheric action/horror.

I'd love to see the Blood Omen series get turned into a film/anime series but I think it would lose too much of the original story.

I'd also like to say that the Monkey Island series could work, but it would probably turn out like Pirates of the Caribbean meets any of the "Movie" movies (Scary, Epic etc etc)

But for serious answers

[Prototype] could be a good one if it was done correctly as there wasn't a great deal of story to lose and with decent effects they could pull it off quite well.

Borderlands could work oddly enough for reasons previously stated

I would say Fallout, but that was kind of done with Book of Eli and in my opinion, it didn't work out so well.

Call of Duty 5-7. Since the game play is only 4 hours long, just shortening the gameplay segments you'd have your 90-120 minute movie already.

smooth out the edges on the cutscenes and boom instant cash cow! Not to mention no1 will care if the movie butchers the franchise, Activision is already doing that themselves.

I could seriously see Monkey Island working there haha
Portal could work as an atmospheric horror, like the first time I saw the inside of an operating room and realised that they were empty, and that I was truly alone... 0_0
Blood Omen i think would work better as an Anime, but I think Soul Reaver in particular could work as a movie.

OT: If I HAD to choose a game to become a movie I'd probably go with Uncharted or Uncharted 2. At least then we'd pretty much get Indiana Jones, and there's nothing wrong with that.
Why not just watch the Indiana Jones trilogy? FFS, I don't see why people are jerking off on the Uncharted series. It was essentially a Tomb Raider game for chicks...
Because as awesome as the Indiana Jones movies are, we've all seen them a dozen times each.

As for Uncharted, whilst it may not be overly compelling dialogue-wise, it's fun to play, it's got cool adventures in it, it can be pretty witty at times and it's bloody gorgeous.
Plus, who doesn't like plundering tombs and beating up bad guys? I know I do.

I think a STALKER film could be kinda cool ... but I'm not sure how you'd go about showing the mutants, various politics, factions, the massive locale, and the assault into Pripyat and Strelok destroying the device that prohibited further entry into the Zone in a single movie.

And of course if you couldn't show (one of the best scenes ever in a video game IMO) the push through the nature strip in between the adjacent apartment complexes whilst fellow Loner Stalkers yell, scream, cheer and mourn their losses by the time the first movie ended, I don't think it would be that great a presentation..

Oblivion could be potentially impressive, as could Alan Wake.

Also, Red Dead Redemption, since it's already like a movie anyway.

But only providing they're done well, of course.
