Assassins Creed 2... God what a rubbish game. I almost fell asleep too, when the too-obviously English guy showed up. Holy crap that guy was English! I don't even think the most English of the English are that English! MY GOD! But before that, mainly the whole "birth" thing... What teh hell do i learn about this game by pressing A, X, Y and B... "Oh good, we use all 4 buttons..." Oh and spingi... Spingi I tell you!
You didn't like it because a character is British, you have to press four buttons and they occasionally speak Italian?

For the love of god, come up with valid reasons! Please tell me you played past that!
So your saying if you don't enjoy a game, you'll still keep playing? Just IN CASE you might like it later on? Huh...
I'm saying at least give it a chance. You didn't even get into proper gameplay. Every game should be given at least an hour or more.

Simple, the only Final Fantasy experience I have had was 20 boring minutes of FF VIII. Didn't hate it, but I just couldn't get into neither the story or the combat.
Okay. I've never played FF and probably won't. Maybe I'll start playing JRPG's when the FF series crawls to a corner and dies. Or when i stop hating the anime rules.

I thought that since you referred Mario games as "irritating bastards" I though you had something against that-same-thing-as-last-year. Or maybe FF isn't like that and I need to do some more research.

If a game is boring in the start, it has failed as an entertainment medium in the sense that the first few minutes of any movie, book, TV show or game are the most important to use to get the consumer interested. AC2 did NOT get my attention with it's first 10-15 minutes. And I did play a few minutes after the hyper-Britt, and it did not impress me. When, after the first experience with the game, I find that I am not entertained, I will not play on.

Will you watch a movie that seems horrible to the end, just cause it MIGHT get good?

I can only think of 2 games I've played that qualify:

1)Final Fantasy IV for the DS.

I start the game up, and as soon as I get into my second battle, my entire team gets petrified. Instant game over. Now, that may have been the result of ignorance on my part, but it caused me to say "Fuck it." I took the thing out of my DS and never played it again.

2) Far Cry 2.

I actually managed to stay with it for at least 20 minutes, but during those 20 minutes, I felt like a hamster on a wheel: in motion, but ultimately not making any progress. The 20 minutes that I spent in game consisted mostly of: a)Driving around and getting stuck; b)Shooting at people for some reason or another; and c)Looking for new weapons after my loadout degrades to shit.

My little brother had more patience than me when it came to this game: after he beat it, he said something along the lines of "That's 20 hours of my life I'd like to have back."

Most recently Bayonetta, though, I played more for the sake that it might get better... it didn't. Before that, Half-life 2 ( for the console, the controls made me rage. ) then, before that, FF13.

Oblivion as soon as I realised that 1) you can't just go straight for the story cause you get slaughtered 2) you don't just level up like normal 3) I had to follow Mr Elf at night cause he was smuggling or something oh noes! *rolls eyes*

Halo 3, I just couldn't get into the zone to have a proper go at it my dad ended up playing the whole thing instead :D

I have to agree with this.

The whole leveling system just ruined the whole experience for me.

Have you ever picked up a game, sat down with it for five or ten minutes and instantly thought "im not going to like this". Mine would be eve online. I did the combat tutorial mined some rocks and was pretty happy. Then i clicked "take me to next mission" 50 warp gate jumps later through the endless boring darkness of space past hundreds of other random cloned ships and I realise I hate the games basic mechanics with a burning passion. If the tutorial mission requires you to sit through 10 minutes of solid travel in a featureless 3d environment, and subsequently with no map, while i have no idea in hell where i am relative to anything.

Ever had a similar experiance? What specifically disagreed with you about the game?

If you want name a game you loved instantly and why, maybe one of the first lines a character said or an intro event.
How the hell did it take you through 50 gates? I've been playing for a couple of months, and I'm doing lvl 4 mishes tops 20 gates from the starting area.
Might be my fault on that, I cliked/unclicked it serval times due to mind numbing bordum. Iether way a feature less mapless 3d environment wasnt for me, i like to know where i am reletive to everything else at all times, random teleportation isnt for me.
Why didn't you bring up one of your multiple maps then? Its not like its hidden that well. I'm pretty sure the tutorial teaches you that as well.

Anyway, mine would be borderlands. Its not as much that I hate it, its just that I dont really find it that interesting to play, and kinda regret spending 30$ on it. Its like an MMO, but with only the boring parts intact :/

Lost Odyssey, I've thought highly of Final Fantasies in the past and, as this was from the same creators I thought it may have been good. I was wrong.
I think you're talking about Last Remnant. Lost Odyssey was made by Ubisoft.
