Tom Clancy's Endwar. Just not a good game in my opinion. I hated the 'rock, paper, scissors' combat and the game hardly ever recognised my accent when issuing orders.

Borderlands... so mind numbling dull... -_-"
I don't think it was dull, but I just didn't play it alot. I got so hyped about it, preordered it and I'm at level 20 or so and I don't want to play anymore. Unless I play with friends. Then it's awesome.

In the interest of time and patience, I'll only list ones I have played myself:

Juiced-no explanation needed
Uncharted 2-Drake is an idiot
Star Wars:Battlefront-harder than it should have been(love battlefront 2 and on)
Twisted Metal series-tried different ones, hated them all
NFL Head Coach series-a half-ass time wasting simulator
Powerdrome-Wipeout rip-off
Corvette,Ford Racing, or anything brand specific-worthy of the sun cannon
EA Nascar after 2005-"How could you screw this up any worse". repeat for each year.
NFS:Undercover-made Pro Street look better
NFS:Shift-made me rethink Undercover
blur-bland
MK vs. DC-bullshit AI and I've never liked fighting games(except Smash Bros.)
Mario games-die you irritating bastard
Sonic games-the only time I enjoy running into spikes
Guitar Hero:post Harmonix-screw you Activision
IHRA games-finally loads after two weeks
SIMS-8th circle of hell

Any questions?

Theres been many games i have hated in the first 5 minutes of play.
Newest ones would have to be single player Modern warfare 2 , i played the spec-ops and like it , but single player .. what the hell was the point of that.
However Final Fantasy 9 takes the top spot for games i hated but played till the end.
Stupid monkey boy runs around a kingdom watching it get exploded... yawn and the girl even in my pre-teen era with no girlfriends wasn't as good looking as needed.
Personally though that they needed some full boobage to make that game good. I recall going oh look disc 2 already , and what felt like 2 hours later i was on disc 4 going .. its over already.
Whats the point of this game.

Mine is probably the first three "3rd person beat/hack up waves of enemies to open a gate, repeat, and sometimes collect random objects along the way" games. After those I realised I hated all of them and didn't need to play them.

Blue Dragon. That was 30 seconds though. As soon as I saw the protagonist was a 7 year-old I thought: "Done!". I played on though. Repetitive gameplay, childish world and boring story convinced me that I was right in the first 30 seconds.

I downloaded Morrowind with the recent sale Steam was having and when I hit the combat, I absolutely hated it. So I uninstalled. I think it took longer to download than it took me to play. But the combat was that bad. So I wasted five bucks.

The Gears of War series. I played through the first several missions, put it down, and never looked back. Thank goodness it was a free rental.

Bioshock because the shiny paint job(atmosphere/graphics ) did not cover up the bad pacing crap game play mechanics and so easy any nub can play it and not die attitude....

Assassins Creed 2... God what a rubbish game. I almost fell asleep too, when the too-obviously English guy showed up. Holy crap that guy was English! I don't even think the most English of the English are that English! MY GOD! But before that, mainly the whole "birth" thing... What teh hell do i learn about this game by pressing A, X, Y and B... "Oh good, we use all 4 buttons..." Oh and spingi... Spingi I tell you!
You didn't like it because a character is British, you have to press four buttons and they occasionally speak Italian?

For the love of god, come up with valid reasons! Please tell me you played past that!

I was about 10 hours into GTA 4 when I just stopped caring, about 1 hour later I realized that the gameplay was really bad. So I stopped playing. To this day I have only traded in one game, and it was GTA 4.

It took longer than a mere five minutes, but Mad World. Disappointing because I'd actually pre-ordered it and was looking forward to it. In the end, the combat was 'meh', the art-style's novelty wore off quite quickly and the game was way too repetitive.

Mad World was something I bought used from Gamestop soon as it hit 20-30 bucks. Took it home, beat it in six hours, realized there was ZERO extra gameplay, and took it back for a full refund. It was actually fun for a good while, but the fact that it ends so quickly and offers nothing else to the gameplay was really disappointing.

Have you ever picked up a game, sat down with it for five or ten minutes and instantly thought "im not going to like this". Mine would be eve online. I did the combat tutorial mined some rocks and was pretty happy. Then i clicked "take me to next mission" 50 warp gate jumps later through the endless boring darkness of space past hundreds of other random cloned ships and I realise I hate the games basic mechanics with a burning passion. If the tutorial mission requires you to sit through 10 minutes of solid travel in a featureless 3d environment, and subsequently with no map, while i have no idea in hell where i am relative to anything, thats a recipe for drollness right there.

Ever had a similar experiance? What specifically disagreed with you about the game?

If you want name a game you loved instantly and why, maybe one of the first lines a character said or an intro event.

EDIT: Just to clarify, I didn't say i have up on these games after five minutes, only that i had a strong sense I wouldn't enjoy them, i do not mean literally five minutes of gameplay was had. Different people have different ideas of what game mechanics are good and which are not. the idea is you see something so core, so vital to the game and think "I dislike this a lot" leading you to believe the rest of the game will also be disagreeable too.

EDIT the second: Please explain why you dislike these games, even if its only one or two reasons, it tends to annoy people when un explained strong opinions are given. Also be considerate of other peoples opinions. Yes they are different than yours, its why its THEIR opinions and not YOUR opinions. Fantastic isnt it? Feel free to disbute a point on a game but keep it civil, the existance of said game is not decided by the opinion of one or two gamers.
Some people are probably going to hate me, but this is my list:

Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fable, Guild Wars.

Condemned. I died right away. Bums shouldn't be so tough. Also, it was 2am. I was in no mood for xbox demos.

Maybe I didn't give it a fair chance.

Assassin's Creed. The tutorial was boring and the rest of the game just didn't click with me from there.

Mass Effect.

[sub]Don't hit me![/sub]

I did finish it though, took me 16 hours of agony with completing as few sidequests as possible. A phenomenally unfun game with a decent story, but it was worth it for Mass Effect 2.
