Far. Cry. Two.

Admittedly, the first twenty minutes were spent riding in a jeep listening to dull conversation and contracting malaria. Once I actually got to play, though, I realized it was just a poorly done FPS with a penchant for roadkill.
Good point, Not about this specific game as I have never played it so that would be unfair but about the amount an unskippable bleeding cutscene lasting 20 minutes can spoil a good game ALL TUTORIALS/CUTSCENES SHOULD BE SKIPPABLE FOR REPLAY VALUE. actually looking back at your comment you werre actually saying how good that was but no apologies I have made my point and I stand by it. There have been many games where I loved them the first time through but when I went for the replay was automatically turned off the notion when I found how much dredge I had to wade through to get to the real game which I hadn't noticed the first time as the first time I had played it it had been interesting useful dredge

FFXIII: I just knew it was going to be awful when the first 5 minutes of gameplay was walking down a 3 foot wide corridor. I was right when that didn't change for another 20 hours.

Hellgate: London. Bad writing, buggy gameplay terrible graphics. Not a single redeeming feature about that game.

Bayonetta: Spastic controls, terrible J-pop music, trying-to-be-sexy character that really wasn't. It shames the creators of DMC.

There's more, but that'll do.

Half Life 2. The combat irritated me so much, I had no idea what was going on, and I kept getting lost...I had to force myself to play past getting a pistol.

Morrowind. Found it too complex, unintuitive, dull and brown. I thought Oblivion was better (though I am not a 'fan' of Oblivion either by any means; it was just 'decent') I gave Morrowind longer than 5 minutes, but I did pretty much know after 5 mins that I wasn't going to like this game, and after an hour I still felt the same and made the decision to stop playing.

Other than that I can't think of anything offhand... I usually give games longer to impress me and its rare I find a game I KNOW I am going to hate in the first 5 minutes of playing, even with my very picky tastes.

Grand theft Auto 4. Why is it so hyped? It's just murky, and since I can't drive for toffee, the police kept chasing me, and since you dont get a gun for a while you can't fight back, and there isn't much interesting free roaming to be had...
Dead Space was the opposite of this to me. As in, after 5 minutes I realised it was very good.

Assassins Creed 2... God what a rubbish game. I almost fell asleep too, when the too-obviously English guy showed up. Holy crap that guy was English! I don't even think the most English of the English are that English! MY GOD! But before that, mainly the whole "birth" thing... What teh hell do i learn about this game by pressing A, X, Y and B... "Oh good, we use all 4 buttons..." Oh and spingi... Spingi I tell you!

To be honest, most strategy games I play.

I think it's just because I'm terrible at multi-tasking and such. It gets kind of depressing to watch others have a whale of a time playing them, like they've found something wonderful in them that I'll never discover :(.

Although there are a couple I've enjoyed. Age of Mythology caught me for some reason (can't put my finger on it...maybe the story?) and Impossible Creatures (it's a shame no-body likes it, it just hit the spot for me, with a fun creature creation system to boot).

Just Cause 2 on PC, terrible characters and cheesy writing, but most of all terribe controls, the mouse had unremoavable smoothing/acceleration, and when I plugged in my xbox 360 wireless controller to see if that would work any better, I noticed how hard it is to aim with an analog stick and decided, you know what, I'm not gonna sit through a game which makes me feel like a cripple.

Bioshock 1: I really wanted to like it, the beginning was atmospheric, original and immersive. I would have loved to play it, except for the worst mouse control I have ever seen in a video game. It's so completely botched it's unreal. In Bioshock 2 it's not linear either but at least it's tolerable.

I have come to accept that console ports will have less-than-perfect mouse control due to sloppy programming and PC gamers being treated as 2nd class citizens in general and I can tolerate it a little bit in really good singleplayer games, but in multiplayer where I'm competing against others, I will need to have precise and perfectly linear mouse control, so that's why Bad Company 2 is unfortunately another game I won't be able to enjoy.

Assassin's Creed 2

There's something about changing from a third person stealth into some type of RPG that sets me off. I loved the first one and was massively disappointed by the sequel.
Either you haven't played an RPG before or you weren't playing AC2.

Wha? It's a linear game.... you can't get lost!
The whole "I have no idea what is going on" is an element of the game which makes it awesome. You have to learn what is happening by observing and/or talking to the civilians.

On another note, you people who complain about the vehicle sections confuse me... the driving is fun as hell! I have full control over the vehicle and the times I got it stuck was me trying to drive over things I totally shouldn't have :D
The only gripe I have with the vehicles is that the buggy is a ***** sometimes when coming out of turbo and it might just spin out for no particular reason.

Well, you're right about the SE/MS publishing point but design is development so your semantic argument is just that. I appreciate being corrected when I'm wrong but it would be nice if next time you did it you weren't such a ponce. Cheers.
No, it's not. Design is just that, design. Development is the creation of said designs - just as in film there is a difference between production and pre-production there is a difference between design and development. I like how you call myself a "ponce" after stating in a previous quote "Be cautious friend and be informed."

Good job on the whole hypocrite front yet again...

Has anyone mentioned the sheer horror that is Vampire Rain? I've never played such a pile of dreck since 1992.

Heavenly Sword. The first minutes were okay, then it was just stupid, bad controlling, too samey. Traded it in and got £3 for it...
