yea i almost lost my present rights for that one my thought process for buying it was my family loves mario party but we're an xbox household well this kind of looks like mario party for the xbox so whats the worst thing that could happen last time i impulse buy a video game (i've only impulse bought 2 games lost magic and fusion frenzy and they both suck)hurfdurp said:In my defense, I played it at a friends house. I guess it's also a candidate for 'Worst Christmas Present Ever'tjcross said:god that game was horrible control wise plus it doesn't help that it's a collection of boring and samey minigames can't believe anyone else bought that (i bought it as a present for my family as a christmas present since i'm cheap)hurfdurp said:Fusion Frenzy?.
dude i bought that game to...for 5 bucks lolelcamino41383 said:Hmmm, no one ever mentions Golden Axe: Beast Rider in threads like this. I guess because no one else was dumb enough (like myself and a friend of mine) to try it and hope for good things. I did play for more than 5 minutes, but wow this game was pretty bad. So unbalanced and sluggish! Quite a few games out there I just did not like very early into playing it, but I always gave them a shot for about an hour...this is probably the one I hated most.
I'm not going to bother refuting your points - after all it's your opinion and no matter what I say it won't change your mind, but I will say that even if you didn't like the opening quarter of the game, it changes pretty substantially (bar the combat system, and that's really a love it or hate it scenario) about half-way through. The only thing I don't understand your complaints on is the ring-system. Not only was that the games core-innovation compared to most turn-based games, it was actually extremely easy to understand - there's even a lengthy tutorial you can repeat until you understand it so I'm not sure why you'd call it "drivel". It doesn't even effect the game if you understand the core combat mechanics.DeeTee said:Lost Odyssey. I stuck with it for a while, because I'm not giving up on something after 5 minutes. But good lord, that game does nothing to make you like it. The protagonist is a tosser, the combat system is awful, it barely explains half of what it is trying to do (the "combat ring" drivel is just nonsense of the highest order), the art design just looks stupid to me, and the story is just stupid.
Wrong - Square-Enix had nothing to do with the game - it was published by Microsoft - and the box states "From the creator of Final Fantasy". As Hironobu Sakaguchi is the commonly recognized creator of the Final Fantasy games; and the person that turned the series into the world-famous brand it is today I think that's a pretty fair description.wkrepelin said:LO was just produced by the guy who created FF. It was developed by Mistwalker and published by SE but you always want to do research with this sort of thing with games and movies.
Ironic, considering you just made a pretty massive error in your other paragraph...If it says "from the people who brought you" or "brought to you by" then be suspicious. These are industery buzz words to make you think that the same people who worked on the other thing that you liked worked on this as well. Be cautious friend and be informed.
"Whats that poppa?"Podunk said:Man, the sheer gall of that guy to try and explain to you the immediate logical and logistical problems of your poorly-thought-out, poorly worded deluge at a game you clearly didn't quite grasp. He must be a real jerk.
