The mall from Condmned and The Factory from Condmned 2 made me piss my pants. I had to look behind me everyday for a week after playing through the School in the first Condmned. So yeah, the Condmned series in general.

Resident Evil 2.

I was staying at my Mum's for a while (I forget why) and had bought my console with me and she wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I swear she sat behind me all day watching me play and the bits with the glass/mirror smashing and the Licker and the dogs both had us yelling out loud.

It was great =D

In hindsight they were only jump shocks and not really lasting scares. But with all that delicious immersion it certainly got the adrenalin flowing.

I don't play many scary games, and for a while the scariest thing I played was Carnivores: Ice Age (this was when I was real young. I was killed by a sabertooth and was scared so much I became afraid of the dark. Years passed until the fateful day when I ventured into the quaint little mining town of Ravenholm. Of this experience, all I will say is I hate fast zombies. Again, years past until some time this December last when, to my surprise, STALKER SoC was on sale for a measly 2 dollars. This was a game I had wanted to try for a long time, but knew it would be too scary for me. But at 2 dollars I couldn't pass it up and bought it. I was right, it's hella scary and by the time I got to the underground labs I had to turn off my volume and open all the blinds in the middle of the day.

May I please have the fast zombies back?

This is an easy one. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. I never could play that game for more than half an hour without getting scared out of my wits.
while playing it, I started to get really paranoid as well as scared. Damn you sanity! Damn you to hell!

System Shock 2. Drunk. At night. In the dark. With headphones. *Shudders*
Interesting note, the first time I played Silent Hill I didn't get scared at all. I described it to my friend that "IT WAS FUN!" Of course, I was kinda psychotic at the time...later I found it shit stain inducingly scary.

Eternal Darkness, and Fatal Frame both had me constantly pausing the game to collect myself.

I am ashamed to say that I have never been scared by a game. I have played games that try to be scary; games that people say are scary, but alas... They are not scary. I applaud the effort, but there has been nothing truly scare-worthy in any game I have played.

I have been truly frightened by movies and books, but never games. Maybe it's because knowing that my character is fully capable of overcoming all odds with my Thor-like guiding hand that nullifies all attempts at fright or shock. I hope to be proven wrong.

I'm sure there have been bits in several games that made me jump purely from unexpected enemies behind me or some other such thing.

But, that I can recall, Heavy Rain had me at its mercy more than once. Not frightening as in "HOLY SHIT WHAT WAS THAT", but more along the lines of "OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD." And there is a difference, if it's not apparent.

EDIT: Vault 87 from Fallout 3 scared me a bit too. I don't like Vault 87.

First couple chapters of Dead Space at 1' clock in the morning with no lights on. That will cause you to jump and scream like a little girl at least a dozen times.
