Games with the most annoying fanboys/girls

Not sure if any of you guys actually play WoW but the vast majority of players in game and on the forums spend all their time complaining about how much it sucks.
I know it sounds strange but if WoW didn't have a sub less people would play. A lot just stick around since they're already paying for it or have payed for X amount of the expansions.

Fans of the Warhammer franchise of games (myself included in that group) can be darn annoying at times. TT Warhammer players have a certain rep of course, but I seldom see the same being said for folk who like games such as those in the DoW franchise. Can't really speculate on Warhammer RPG players (Fantasy Roleplay, Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader, Deathwatch, etc.) as the forum/Net presence of such folks is usually fairly moderated on the sites I pay attention to.
Warhammer Lore nuts are certain to make themselves annoying when things diverge from canon. There was also all the hoopla about WAR a while back... something even I still complain about from time to time.

Every and all fanboys are bad/harmful, I would know because I'm one of them.
Hype will always ruin a game, so if people really cared for them they should shut up and let others actually enjoy them as they are.

I'm not sure about the all time worst, but the worst in recent memory has got to be the Mass Effect crew.

I find it interesting that so many people here are listing Valve fanboys. Usually people define fanboys as people that are such big fans of something that they are completely blind to the major flaws of what they adore. Valve certainly has its flaws as well, but they definitely dwarfed by the things they do to give back to their customers (great deals, free updates, heck even free games).
Also, Portal is arguably one of the best games ever (from a game design perspective at least). Do you dislike the fact that they don't give you reasons why they like it? Or is it something else?

To be fair, the reason that people like Steam so much is because of its features and the fact that it doesn't screw you over (unlike some of the other digital distribution services). I daresay that even the fanboys wouldn't like your hypothetical sodomy box.KalosCast said:

Any fanatic of any Japanese-related thing. Why do almost all Japanese games suck so badly right now? Because there are so many fanboys for their products that tell the developers that they LOVE their games and that they don't ever want them to evolve or change.
I was excited for Final Fantasy XIV because I really enjoyed Final Fantasy XI. But during the beta when so many things were wrong, a lot of us were telling Square-Enix that those things were wrong. But just as many people were saying "No, it's going to be good." "It's their game so it's their decisions not ours" "You're wrong, it's actually a good idea not a bad idea".
And yeah... then they released it. Even to this day the Final Fantasy fanatics are all over it. Hell, I even know some people who liked XIII. Or at least they say they liked it.

Okay, probably a silly thing to say really, but the fan-bases of most of the games I happen like.
Why?
Because I get so much hate for liking games such as Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy and Halo, because of over the top fans. My boyfriend gives me funny looks if I even suggest playing Kingdom Hearts >>;

To me it's the Kingdom Hearts crowd.
You cannot make sense of that story and it's characters. Stop it, it's one giant convoluted mess.
And don't get me wrong. I like the games but alot of the fans are so... Fanatical. I guess.
I've met some real aggressively dedicated ones and the story got utterly batshit for me around the second game so I just decided, okay sod it, I'm just going to enjoy the spectacle of slashing and sparkle cannon-ing my way around disney worlds.

I play tf2 a lot, so I am pretty much the "blablabla realism is not yet good 'nuff in games blablabla tf2" kind of fanboy. (Valve)
But the games Valve makes are quite good / really good, so I suppose they deserve the praise.
+ they offer loads of free content. I will not purchase addons for games.
