Vampire The Maqurade: Bloodlines (My favorite game of all time, despite the many flaw.)
Baldur's Gate 1&2 (I dream of a world where 3 exists.)
Fallout 1&2 (NOT 3 and NV. I consider them separate, lesser, games no matter what anyone says.)

Those are the only 3 games I would ever defend 100% in an argument. Fanboy? Maybe not, but I'm pretty close.

i'm very sad now. I spent like a half hour writing up a paticullary unclever response to this thread and lost it by accidently clicking on some stupid link below the spot you type your comments. well i'm not typing it up again, so heres the 3 greatest games ever, criminally underpresented for you to look at:

#3 JADE EMPIRE
#2 Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
#1 Conker's Bad Fur Day

....Final Fantasy 7.

I used to be a fanboy of the Halo series, but quickly realised Bungie had no idea what the fuck 'story continuity' is.
Are you perhaps talking about how 'the great journey' suddenly replaces the orginal reason the covenant are interested in halo? Because i have been looking for fucking ever for someone else who noticed that, i hate it when my friends give me their stupid look of confusion when I bring it up too, they make me feel like such nerdy asshole.
Mmm? Honestly, this is the first I am hearing of it. Of course, I never really paid much attention to the Covenant plot, since it got stupidly religious. And I pretty much hate religion.

Since all the rest was mentioned before I'll admit to my Overlord fanboyism, first Overlord anyway(second one was a franchise splash across all platforms so there wasn't even one properly done).

Yes the gameplay of Overlord was quite flawed but I love the idea of it, instead of me running around bashing every crate and looking into every crevice if there might be an item I got my gremlins to take care of it, and same goes for combat, ya I can step in and wack every enemy on it's head or I strategically lead my guys to do it better.
I think if someone puts together a better story and amps up the gameplay it would be an all time great adventure game.

Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - no one has yet convinced me that any game in the series since has been better.

Pokemon. There is not a single Pokemon game in existence that I did not enjoy to some extent.

NOOOOOOO!! Fuck my life, my eternal search will continue for all of time. I'm going to cry and go to bed. Anyway i was talking about how in the first Halo the covenant think halo is a weapon, then suddenly in Halo 2 the covenant are religous and apparently thought halo was some super relic or something. I was paticullarly unimmpressed because they just seemed to do it to bash religion.

In order of unreasoning fangirl level:

1) Shadow Hearts series (especially #1, and you will pry the game disc from my collection only with severed fingers...)
2) Assassin's Creed series (even the first one)
3) Betrayal at Krondor (best RPG ever - seriously, man...)
4) Prince of Persia series (I own an embarrassing amount of these games across multiple platforms)
5) Zork GUI games - Return to Zork, Nemesis, even Grand Inquisitor

Fallout 2.
Fallout 3 and NV were great too, but Fallout 2 was the creme de la creme.
If only it didn't have the random spiritual bullshit.
That had no damn place in the game.

Oh, and Disgaea.
It's integral to my existence.

In order from least to greatest:

Black Ops: I play the fuck out of this game, so it has to get a mention, even though COD is not in my favorites list.

Rainbow Six: I am eagerly awaiting the release of the new one, I hope it has actual squad based combat, not the 3 person teams like in Vegas.

Gran Turismo. I only achieved around 74% on 3, but I had a 96.4% completion on 4.

Ace Combat WAS my other obsession, before they went 360 exclusive (Fuckers).

In it's place is now H.A.W.X. I play this game online more than any other, and the Original still has the highest rate of play in my library.

Uncharted 2, Oblivion, Ratchet and Clank 3 and sometimes Red Dead and the MGS francise as a whole but that's pretty difficult to defend without melting brains in a ton of narrative jargon and backstory.
