There's next to nothing I buy on release, to be honest, and certainly nothing I pre-order.

My husband bought Dragon Age 2 at release, and I really don't think it was worth it. The only thing I anticipate running out to buy in the future is Mass Effect 3, because I'm desperate to know how it ends.

Yeah, I'm a massive Bioware fanboy - but hey, I'm really glad I did buy all fo them on release, even Dragon Age II. I'm also be getting The Witcher 2, Mass Effect 3, Deus Ex: Human Revoloution and Skyrim near launch, though I might wait for Skyrim as I'm a little worried it'll be the pile of average Oblivion was with only mods to make it great - in which case I'll have to wait for them to be produced anyway.

Recent ones include Portal 2, Crysis 2, Beyond Good & Evil HD, Enslaved, Dead Rising 2, Alan Wake and Split Second Velocity.

Crash Twinsanity - Honestly I think this was the last good Crash games. Yeah it had a lot of problems but I found it funny and most of all fun.
Mercenaries 2: World in Flames - I'ma Pandemic fanboy so yeah it was worth it.
Resistance 2 - The co-op alone was worth it.
Fallout: New Vegas - Hell yes it was worth it!

Total War: Shogun 2 (Mmmmmm, yeah, just yeah and no more with no caps or exclamation mark)
STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl (We'll I would have if my graphics card hadn't kept taking fits and my computer could have handled it.)

Games I bought on launch and didn't like;
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (ARGH!!!)
Dragon Age: Origins (Great concept, just dragged down by difficulty waves and repetitive battles...)

I could probably think of others; on the other hand, I couldn't start note the number of games I bought long after they came out and liked; KOTOR, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Shogun: Total War and Dawn of War; all are somewhere in my top 10, just to give examples; often I find older games are just better.

Oh boy was I psyched to finally get an RTS at release. I was going to crack out on it and stay right on top of the skill curve once and for all!

Wow, talk about going 0 for 1. That game was terrible. I hope the person who came up with the new system is ashamed of them self. Whoever wrote the story should have been lynched. This game is also my all time winner for worst ending ever. Its made even worse by the fact that they promised an epic ending that would make our balls swell.

FIFA 11. Was hilarious because I pre-ordered from GAME and got it a day before release, and my friend queued up at midnight on release just to get it early. When he got it I'd already been playing it for a day.
