Fable 2 & 3(pre-ordered the special edition of F3.Tbh the extra content wasn't worth the extra cost)
Dragon Age 2
CoD:Black Ops
Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2
No More Heroes 2

That's about it.I tend to wait until games drop in price before buying them and I never pre-order(Fable 3 was the one time I did)

Starcraft 2. The only game I REALLY wanted to get as soon as possible. Everything else can either wait or be rented. Going to get Catherine on release as well.

Most of them.
I tend to know that I'll like a game before I play it, so I buy it. I do get pleasantly surprised by games pretty often, but I'm rarely let down by games.

Same, the only one I regret. It gained points in its favor by letting me punt Ewoks in the Endor DLC.

Fallout: New Vegas.

I wish I hadn't, in fact I wish I hadn't bought it at all.

I'd have to say that the second one sucked more than the first. At least that endor DLC only cost a $1...

Fear Effect 2, back in the PS1 days. It's still in my top 10 games to this day.

The only Three games I pre ordered are

Left 4 dead 2
Fable 3 collectors edition
Super Street Fighter 4 3d (along with a 3ds)

My xbox broke after getting fable 3 , so I never finished it. But I refuse to trade in fable 3, the book box looks awesome :D

I pre-ordered 2 games last year:
Just Cause 2 & I was very satisfied with the game and the little pre-order bonus item.
Fallout New Vegas and that is the last game I will ever pre-order. Half a year (and a few patches) and it's still a mess. The bonus items were pretty cool though.

I did end up buying Portal 2 on launch day (both my wife & I were really looking forward to it) but only after looking up on various forums & reviews to make sure it works (I didn't pre-order) ... and I got the ps3 version which came with the PC version and I wasn't worried about the PC version.

Normally, I'll rent something before committing to a purchase as I find that there are only one or two games a year that are actually worth $60.

Yup, can't beat a buck, well, unless it is less or free. It was interesting, though the end fight of that mission was a big WTF moment.

Yeah that ending was really dumb.
