There was this game for Nintendo 64 in which you played chameleons. At the beginning of the game, you would pick one (they all had different colours, and I remember the yellow one having a sad look on his face).
You could do various things with your long tongue (no, not THAT kind of things), for example, attach it to a pole between two grounds, so you could swing around it and land on the other side.

I don't know what you played, but I think it was a worm or something alike. After loosing your memory and falling into a coma, the game begins with you walking around in your own head. Your head kind of was the game menu. Depending on how many levels you solved, there was an indicator for how smart you were, I remember being "As smart as toast" after finishing one. During those levels, you could also find something special to eat (I think it was popcorn) which made you a muscle man, basically.
