Search bar approved - found things similar about what you miss IN games, but not actual games.

Now I'm doing this because you're all the knowledgable sorts on games (I'd like to think so anyway), therefore it would make sense to come here.

Anyways, I remember playing this old, old JRPG/RPG where you ran round a city and into forests etc. The colours were seriously bright, like grass was acid green. Near the start, you'd pop out to the forest and fight worms mostly for the start of it. Seriously can't remember the name of it, any help would be appreciated on what game this is :)

If anyone else has this similar problem, post them in this thread - somebody in the community is bound to know what game you're talking about :)
Sounds like FF8 to me, but then its not very specific, sorry...

I used to play a 2 player game where you both started in a base and could choose 1 of 4 vehicles, a helicopter, tank, jeep and some APC thing which drops mines. You were on and island and meant to destroy the other guys base, when you got too far out to see this submarine would rise up and kill you.

Oh and the jeep was kickass, would turn into a raft and shiz, ^^

There was a game on the sega mega drive/genesis that you were a racoon or a possum or something, possibly wearing armour. It was 2d. you could charge up and rocket in a certain direction. You could hang from trees/ other horizontal lines with your tail.

Cookie to whoever know what the hell im talking about. I'm sure i didnt imagine playing it haha.

EDIT: FOUND IT!!!!!!1111!1!!1! Mega thanks to the OP for starting a thread like this and reminding me to look for a game that I remember playing as a kid, but couldnt find any evidence of existing, post 1997 :D:D:D

In case anyone was wondering: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocket_Knight_Adventures
Oh my god...

I played this when I was like five with my brother and loved it, I could never remember the name and eventually 7 years late decided it must be some old starfox game or something.

Thanks! =]

I remember playing a demo of a game. It was fantasy, with wizards and such. Anyway, it was a strategy game, where you were a wizard, and you summoned creatures to fight for you. I think you could choose your wizard, and the one I chose was a bald guy. The minions you summoned were also 3 types of groups. The only one I can think of is a sort of nature group. It was a top-down game. And thats pretty much all I remember. It's not exactly much, but it's all I can think of at the moment.
If it was for PS2, then that's Heroes: Of Might and Magic :)

I remember playing a DOS game which was this really old baloon shooter. You'd see your crosshair and would shoot arrows at colourfull ballons that kept floating upward. Different colours gave different points. It was pretty addicting, had puke ugly 90's graphics and a green background if I remember correctly.

Sorry, but that described about 90% of all JRPGs ever made.
Sorry, I couldn't really be anymore specific...It's kinda grainy in my head, it's driving me up the wall not knowing what it is though :p Also, it might be Bubbleman, or Bubble trouble.
Holy crap, I played that too...

Not a clue what the game was though sorry, but it sure was addicting, you're right.

And it doesn't sound like Heroes of might and magic as those are (the Heros games I've played) turn based strategy games. Also they had many more creatures (7 for each faction/race I believe) of course I'm talking about the PC game, didn't know any were released on the PS2 so I could be wrong.

I can vaguely remember a game on the N64, I believe. You were a kid with black hair, and you could also turn into an older version of yourself at will, I think...maybe, anyway. I think there may have been a girl around somewhere as well. It was all classic Japanese sorta design in the setting, but there was funky stuff like lasers too.

And a huge mecha battle. REALLY huge mecha battle that involved flying across a plain while shooting the other mech from the cockpit of yours in first person view. Goddamn awesome. Really, really hard at the same time though.

No idea what it was called at all. Only played it a couple of times. Shame, I'd like to try it again and see if it's easy now.

(Also, first post, hurrah! No more skulking in the background!)
Congrats and welcome!

It was a RPG on the PS1, where with one character you were a girl and you started out in a catholic school run by Nuns, and when you explored the land beyond the school it was from a top down perspective, like the NES Final Fantasys. Also, you played as another character, a boy, and one of the earliest fights was in a forest/jungle with a gorilla. The battle system was turned based too I believe.
Wild Arms
The chick was a mage, the bloke was a swordfighter/archaeologist/tomb raider and the boy used the wild arms which were ancient artifacts even though they were guns.

I can't remember the name of my first PS1 game..In it I think you were a 10-year-old boy with a gun that shoots bubbles or something similar. Some of the enemys were bats I think. I think it was a FPS.
Rascal?

It was a PS2/PS1 game. I think it was pretty obscure, but I'm not sure... it was in my younger days. Basically, it was a game where you piloted a mech, and the part I remember about it the most (strangely) was that you could walk around inside a station-type thing sometimes, and the alarm would go off, and you'd have to go back to your mecha, get inside, and... yeah.

I recently bought a console that is a new released sega genesis/megadrive, it has 20 biult in games and it costed less than $25. Since then i've been trying to remeber wich games i had when i had my origina genesis (i lost all the games) I was glad to know that one of the games i liked the most was included, decap attack.

Bakc on topic, I remember most of the games i had but there's one about a robot that had aerial view. I rember the sticker had just black background and the title in white and blue, resembling metal. On the final level (i think) you went trhough and scape sequence. I wich i could say more.

Found it!

PC game came around the time of Metal Fatigue and Age of Empires 2. It was a spaceship sim, like ace combat in space.

In the first mission you had to kill some enemy spaceships, then you "light travelled" only to find your mothership getting destroyed. Anyone knows?

The only JRPG I only liked, because it was Pokemon, but than with Nightmare Fuel-like monsters.

You were this really annoying kid (JRPG, y'know...) who had to save the world from destruction (because, y'know... JRPG) by catching monsters (because... well... JRPG, y'know...) which you could subsequently and mysteriously morph with one another. You could train the beasties, and they'd get better and more powerful and, ultimately, you'd save the world. I vaguely remember there being a scantily-clad lady (JRPG.) who in the west would either be jailbait or 'totally asking for it (JRPG.)

I don't remember the name, nor was it that impressive. But man, to the little boy that was me, it was like Pokemon for... well... people who were no longer little boys. Of course, looking back it was vastly inferior to Pokemon.

Still, had some great times with that game. Oh, and the best critter (at least, it was in my memory) was the first critter you could catch (does that remind you of a certain anime based on a certain... JRPG?)...
Are you thinking of Nocturne? My brother had it, and it sounds pretty much the same.

A game I can't remember is one I had for the PS2. I think it was mostly top-down view, and you controlled different tanks and had lots of weapons. One of the weapons was like a satellite missile or laser or something and you could aim it at people...it had split-screen versus. No clue beyond that...

First was a space civ sim. You had your race and there were other races you could diplomacise with. I remember one of the other races looked a bit like a sandwich... I remember you could build ships, and you first decided the size of the ship, and filled up the ships slots with engines and weapons and shiz, so you could fill it full of engines and have it mega fast or have no engines and all weapons for a really slow gun platform style thing. Also the only way to travel between systems was by wormhole, but you could set up wormhole blocks or something...
EDIT: And it was turn based! I think. Well it might have been. Probably?
Maybe it was Master of Orion [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_of_Orion]? Or Star Control [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Control]?

Two for me.

One was a side scrolling platformer on the PS1. You controlled this kid who was running away from some shadows/evil goo-like creatures or something. You wore a pot as a helmet and couldn't fight for a decent portion of the game. It came on two CDs and you eventually earned some sort of magic power that could fight off the monsters.

The second CD included you transitioning into playing some other creature that had powers as well. The creature liked apples or something. I think right before the CD swap you played through a water level as him, and the kid was on your back so you had to surface for air in these tricky caverns.

I rented it once and never finished it.

The second one was a PS2 game I think. It was like a top down 3rd person shooter with zombies/undead/demons ect. You had a variety of characters to pick from with unique specialties and weapons, I distincly remember a slow priest-like character who used a crossbow that shot crosses and a fast girl who duel wielded pistols. It had COOP functionality. I remember that one of the boss levels included fighting a giant monster teddy bear and I think the story revolved around some possessed little girl.

My cousin owned the game and I don't remember much about it.

The first one is Heart of Darkness I think.
I loved that game...it came w/ 3D glasses too didnt it?...for certain levels?

You could be thinking of Jade Cocoon. Probably, if the kid was annoying, Jade Cocoon 2 on the PS2. I actually prefer the game to the Pokemon series, but it's really a different kind of thing, Jade Cocoon 2 being less about catching the monsters than about getting good ones. It's also more story-based (by default though. It's a lot harder for a game to be story-based when the main character can't talk. Saying that, I think that was the case with the first Jade Cocoon; I haven't played it in years). Pokemon's more about the monsters, Jade Cocoon's more about the characters.

For me; the only thing I can think of right now is some old PC game probably from the early 90s. I think it might've been an RPG of some kind, but I definitely didn't ever get that far on it. All I remember is that, at the start I think, there was some potion mixing going on. In a tent maybe. I haven't bothered trying to figure out what it was, so I don't mind if no one else does.

I read all the posts first, unfortunately I can't help anyone.

My game is on the ps2 I believe, it was about king arthur, and on the first level you start out as a kid with crap armor, but when you find excalibur, you get big gold armor. In another level, you get guenevere, she had purple clothes and used a bow. in some levels the main characters had two lackys each, which basically did the same thing (arthurs lackys were soldiers, guens had bows). after that, you find percival in a graveyard, he wielded a hammer and could heal. I remember reading online you eventually got merlin and lancelot too.

There was some game I played many years ago on my dads friends SNES. All I really remember is that it was completely in 2D, it was an RPG, and I ran around in a pretty dark forest with lots of blueish creatures (I believe they were wolves) jumping out on me. Then I came to some kind of ruins, where a princess was walking back and forth on a ledge...

I hope someone might know what the game was called, because I would really like to play it again.
this may sound stupid, but I never played the original. Was it zelda?

It involved a red-haired guy as the protagonist. He started out on an airship fighting a fat man who charges at him to attack. The battle was a side-scroller, but that's only one part. When it crashed, he landed in a small town at a mountain's base. The highest house has a portal to a place that requires "Sun Tiles" to enter, at which point the character learns a new skill. The Sun Tiles are hidden a lot like Heart Pieces and the like, as this game plays somewhat like Zelda (not the typical RPG). The first "dungeon" is the crashed ship (I think) which has fallen nose-first a la Frigate Orpheon. The boss of this area (which is covered in fall leaves) is a cheetah-like android that is fought in an electrified glorified boxing ring.

It was for the PS1.

Is that enough info?

Let's see...

Then there was this first person fantasy adventure game on the NES. I never made much progress in it since it was in German (not a language I speak), though you would be suprised how far you can get with a little trial and error...
Shadowgate?
I'm not 100% sure, but I looked up some screenshots and it might be it. I'll have to try and get the game to make sure. Thanks :)
