Great topic! I wanted to ask something, but never got to open a topic for it:

It's a game in which you travel down the amazon in a boat, being able to pull over and take pictures of wildlife, and at the end you receive a statue from indians. You could also find animals whilst going down the river.

My friend had it back in 1999/2000, but I never talk to him anymore, kinda grew apart. I really liked the game, and I kinda thought about it some days ago after seeing a documentary on the Amazon. I know the description is pretty small, but I don't recon there are a lot of games like it...

What systems was it on? What perspective did you play from? What 'style' game was it (Point and click, isometric, first person, turn based or real time)?

It doesn't sound familliar, but as you say, it seems pretty distinctive. With some more details I may be able to track it down. (I am at work and don't have much better to do :) )

Nah it wasn't spellcasting. it was a 3D game cartoon graphics.
Hmmm wizard, but no spell casting.. I'd need more details then. What type of game was it? Was it a point and click adventure or an RPG? Was it first person (lord knows developers loved 1st person in the late 90's) or 3rd? Do you remember what the character looked like?

It was a Spider-man side scroller for either the NES or SNES. I played it at my hair cutting place when I was about 4 years old.
That narrows it down to about 6 games. Can you think of anything more specific about it? I'm sure I can help you out with this one.

Sadly, I cannot. I was really young at the time. I just remember it being pretty fun.

Was it Amazon Trail? I remember taking the pictures, and the guy would say "what should we do with this?" in a very silly voice. Was it the Incas though? Where a leopard talks to you in your sleep in the intro movie

I was in 3rd Person and i think your character was bald You could jump or climb things and as i said before on the first part of the game you need to get the wizard robes (Which are just plain Blue robe) from some house not to sure if you owned it but it was in like a glass container thing.

There was an old pc game I played once where you were a raptor with a jetpack and the meteor was about to crash into Earth, so you had to fly around and collect eggs. Man, that game was awesome.

(and if they existed, we'd all be fucked.)

I'm sorry, but I've been thinking about my game for a long time. I think the cover was mostly stone and the back cover involved a scene where the main character was running away from a boulder on a blue-ish cliff... in a dungeon. The rest that I can remember is in my first post (page 3). Can someone please help me?

YES! I forgot the stupid voice, but when I read it in your post, it came back to me!

Now I can finally find eternal rest... *fades away*...

No, without joking, thanks a lot, now I can see if I can find it anywhere! Knowing what to look for makes searching all the less futile!

Thanks again.

I was thinking about an old game I had on SNES. It was tough I never could get more than a few levels in. Anyway, it was a top-down scrolling shooter game. Your character was some... mech maybe, I remember it was like a futuristic world but very war torn. All I can really remember is that the first level was very blue and black, the screen scrolls upwards, lots of enemies lots of bullets to dodge... some huge machine boss... that's about all I remember.

how can you miss something that you dont remember?
It's not about having forgotten them completely. It's about only remembering small details and requesting others to fill in the details.

EDIT: I found the game... It's Alundra 2... I am disappoint.

This has been bugging me for years. When I was really young, my cousin had a Sega Genesis game that I would occasionally play. It was either an adventure game or an RPG, although I'm pretty sure it was the former, rather than the latter. I remember the color scheme being mostly blue or dark purple, and the game involved talking to other characters, which blew my mind at the time. I also remember a menu system that was based on icons, instead of text. The time period would have been very early 90's, because if it was much later I would remember it more clearly. The only other thing I can say for sure is that it wasn't a Phantasy Star or Shining Force game. Does this ring any bells for anyone?

I remember playing a demo of a game. It was fantasy, with wizards and such. Anyway, it was a strategy game, where you were a wizard, and you summoned creatures to fight for you. I think you could choose your wizard, and the one I chose was a bald guy. The minions you summoned were also 3 types of groups. The only one I can think of is a sort of nature group. It was a top-down game. And thats pretty much all I remember. It's not exactly much, but it's all I can think of at the moment.
If this was PC, it might have been 'Magic and Mayhem'. Different ingredients summoned different creatures depending on whether you put them in 'Law', 'Neutral' (nature or 'Chaos' slots. Remembered playing the bald wizard, (He gets hair in later levels I think) and summoning redcaps who dipped their hats in the blood of fallen enemies to heal!
YEEESSSSSSS!!

Nostalgia explosion!

That sounds like MDK. You were a guy in a black suit and had a parachute type cape to glide around. Was a PS1 as well as a PC game.

I'm looking for some help here.
The game was for Sega Genesis.

If i recall correctly, the gamer plays as a fast running rodent of some sort (or some kind of brown animal)

Its a side scroll'r.
The main power ups include collecting various cans of hair spray throughout the level that change the properties of your characters hair.

I vaguely remember neon colored hair like pink, lime green, orange, blue, & red...each of them giving you power ups like sticking to a ceiling with a Mohawk, bouncing higher than normal with a spring looking curl, and other various power ups.

Obviously, someone was trying to market on the popularity of sonic the hedgehog (Fast running rodent)

I can vaguely remember a game on the N64, I believe. You were a kid with black hair, and you could also turn into an older version of yourself at will, I think...maybe, anyway. I think there may have been a girl around somewhere as well. It was all classic Japanese sorta design in the setting, but there was funky stuff like lasers too.

And a huge mecha battle. REALLY huge mecha battle that involved flying across a plain while shooting the other mech from the cockpit of yours in first person view. Goddamn awesome. Really, really hard at the same time though.

No idea what it was called at all. Only played it a couple of times. Shame, I'd like to try it again and see if it's easy now.

(Also, first post, hurrah! No more skulking in the background!)
Apart from the "turning into an older version of yourself", it sounds exactly like Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mystical_Ninja:_Starring_Goemon] it was one of the most awesome games for N64.

At first I thought you were making a joke about not being able to remember the game that pretty much defined the Genesis (Sonic) but once you got into the hair color thing it sparked a memory. That seems really familiar. Must... remember... old.... game.
