Mine was a game that I saw in action, but never played myself due to lack of the appropriate hardware. It was an action game for the PS2 featuring a some guy with two long swords, and the way he fought with them they looked like helicopter blades. Very majestic. And the crazy thing was that when you finished the first stage, the game showed a replay from several angles while it played the opening credits.

Only one other detail I remember: the lead character was loosely based off at-time popular Japanese rock star Gackt.
I want to say Devil May Cry, he didn't have two swords (two guns and a sword), and I don't remember the credits scene like that but I haven't played it in forever.

The only JRPG I only liked, because it was Pokemon, but than with Nightmare Fuel-like monsters.

You were this really annoying kid (JRPG, y'know...) who had to save the world from destruction (because, y'know... JRPG) by catching monsters (because... well... JRPG, y'know...) which you could subsequently and mysteriously morph with one another. You could train the beasties, and they'd get better and more powerful and, ultimately, you'd save the world. I vaguely remember there being a scantily-clad lady (JRPG.) who in the west would either be jailbait or 'totally asking for it (JRPG.)

I don't remember the name, nor was it that impressive. But man, to the little boy that was me, it was like Pokemon for... well... people who were no longer little boys. Of course, looking back it was vastly inferior to Pokemon.

Still, had some great times with that game. Oh, and the best critter (at least, it was in my memory) was the first critter you could catch (does that remind you of a certain anime based on a certain... JRPG?)...
Jade Cocoon. Awesome game!

I know Gackt was used for a character in Dirge of Cerberus, if that helps any.

I need Help too, losing my time on net i started to remembwer the past about certains games on my mind plz could you find them out??

well 1st one is a RTS based on a feudal japan, like age of empires you start with a town hall you can train peasants to work and collect resource or build specific resourse-collecting sites that allow you to collect...
one of these resourse is corn (only the icon i think cause i beleive is food, but OH WELL)
the only thing you can train is peasants but you can build military structures like normal barracks but to have warrior you need to right-click the peasant on the building to change, transform, train him to be a soldier, a archer,etc... there are 2 bar on their head
one is problaby the HP or life, the second one i remember its blue, its propose i remember its prowess(yeah the game is somewhat realist), more your soldiers stay idle and dont fight they will lose strength and need go to barracks once again to "refill" their strength.i remember that there is no magic (OR not, could have or NOT). i remember a thing cleary about a siege on my empire. i had strong stone walls with stairs that the archers can use to attack from above, but the enemy have 3 options. 1st is to a attack the wood gate,2nd use a wood mobile staircase(i just remember but even so , JUST WTF IS THAT???) to let the soldiers invade and 3rd use siege help like trebuchets ou catapults to break my defenses.

that all IT HAS amazing i played on windows 98(maybe since its all on 2004 around im not certain) PLZ DO NOT SAY THAT IS BATTLE REALMS i cleary know that dont is it...

2nd one, an action based adventure first-person shooter game played on PS2.
i remember it that its was a mix beweent vampirism or gothic(dark like nature) and wild west where we (the hero) on the entire game we was chasing a certain vampire lord that causes the dead live once again. in terms of gameplay its funny the graphics are decent and all. the first stage is on a train be what i remember the first enemy is a skeleton dual-wielding a anubis-like weapons (that strange curved knifes, pretty odd and im saying it its PRETTY CURVED knifes, just remember age of mythology). on second stage we mount a horse and travels on a ever-lasting desert (im remember it the desert just keep coming...) fighting mounted undead skeleton armed with pistol(western style) on the end we fight the vampire lord but he escapes and the stage ends.
the weapons have strange design (again mix beweent vampire hunter and wild west) but all i remember that there is a crossbow that makes the skeletons panic in fear...
i simply loved the game because can be played on CO-OP campaing just like halo 2. i want it again!!!!

3rd and last one. an action based survival horror third-person shooter game( i think is it but the camera just focus on the person sprite from above angle like an RTS game camera rather than behind) we are a woman( i just remember playing with one) dual-wielding pistols outside a cience laboratory we find a breath and enter in it. we exploring the room we find money, we use to upgrade something maybe the weapons, we on certain cases find a new weapon( on first stage wwe find a shotgun), after all we are attacked by monsters(more alien like but somewhat lame and dumb), they die rather easily but they coming on swarns from everywhere, they even pop up from grounds. ours objective unknown(i played when i was a child) we just keep gaoin fiding new monsters, some puzzles on lab, sci-fi weapons like a laser weapons. i never finished the game. it was played on PC(windows 95).

many details, yet i cant find them...............

Ive read through the posts and couldnt find the name of the game I'm looking for... So hopefully someone knows!

It is a PC top down shooter, you played as a character who wore red armor(sort of a Boba Fett knockoff) there were tons of destructibles and a lot of cool weapons, like rocket launchers, acid guns and spider mines. The plot was something along the lines of a political revolution. I remember it being fairly long and a lot of fun to play. Im pretty sure it ran of of a CD-ROM disc but I cant for the life of me remember what it was called... HELP!
I've been looking for this game as well. I actually posted about it on page 9 of this thread many months ago. I've yet to find the name.

It's kind of nice to know that I'm not the only one looking for it though. Hopefully someone remembers.

If you have any more details maybe i can help, what year was it released, roughly?

Hello, I've got a problem with finding my very missed game which I had on PC but I remember very little of it, just that main character was a boy (whom dress was blue), and the game begins in deserted mountains where he had to fight with some black creatures with red eyes to pass through with some gun which fired the electric stream. It was adventure/platform game and for these years (i mean 1996-1999, I don't exactly remember, only that I was very young then :)) it had very good animations. It consisted on jumping from edge to edge, climbing on the rocks, killing these black dudes and something something.. Don't remember nothing more, but it was very interesting game :) please help :)
Sounds like Heart of Darkness, I played it on the PS1 ages ago and I had forgotten it completely.
Thanks for making me remember it. ^^

Few months late so I've no idea if you're still around to read this, but that's gotta be The Neverhood.

So, I've been reading back through this topic and not found anyone asking about this, so... watching the recent AVGN videos, I noticed a game in the intro sequence - a fighting game in the style of Tekken, but with character made entirely of little balls. Pretty sure it was on the N64. I'm also pretty sure I didn't like it, but still... curiosity an' all that. If anyone can remember, I'd be grateful.

The most I can say is that I recall playing at a friend's place in the mid 1990s. CD3Z seems to remember it better than myself though; the only thing I can add to his description is that it was kind of like a Metroid/Diablo hybrid and that the title screen showed the titular red armoured guy. I also remember dying a whole lot =P

Oh god, there was this amazing side scroller shooting game for the PS1. I have no idea what it was called, i think the title had some sort or "Captain" or "Commando" or something.

I think the person you played as, wore like an orange shirt, and had like grey or blackish hair. He always used big guns too! I remember in the opening cutscene, he shoots an enemy plane or something, something happens with guns and planes.

I think there was a heroine in the game (probably was!) but I can't describe her. I know it's a very vivid description, but if you could shine some light on this for me, you'd make an old gamer happy =) hehe

Mine is an old PC title. It had something to do with dinosaurs where you could mix and match different body parts to create a warrior, then you could run around on a top-down map exploring and killing things. I only vaguely remember it and I'm not really sure if it was fun or not, but it'd be interesting to see it again.

I'm looking for a ps1 game. It was a fighting game that was using magic with Square, Triangle and O button, and it changed into a melee action game when you was in close combat. I have the music stuck in the head, but can't remember the game name at all! Help me >_<
