oh, and did i mention the rabid fans of kingdom hearts? i like the games... but im not obsessive.

Minecraft, especially on the forums. There is never an end to whining, about how there is not enough updates or as soon as he updates there is too many updates (because it breaks their mods) or how something isn't 'minecrafty' enough. Bloody 12 years olds - this is why people should not allow small spawn on the internet.

I'm a fan of Valve and BioWare.

Valve has a massive fanbase of elitist pricks who hate anyone who doesn't have a shrine to Gabe Newell and BioWare has a fanbase ready to ***** them out for anything that they attempt to do in any of their games ever.

WoW in my opinion tops the horrible fanbases (which to date is the only fanbase I am aware of that can honestly believe any other game that is an mmo is immediately a WoW clone, as well as being the only fanbase that will angrily defend the game while QQing about it being too hard moments later.)

BTW this doesn't extend to the whole fanbase as some of the fans are very good however its still the fact that fans like the ones listed above exist in decently large numbers in the game.

Im on the mass effect forums, (I dont like mass effect, im just bored and hang around there utill they leak the plot so I can finish the story, I dislike the lot but may aswell see the ending and laugh f its as bad as think).

Not so much a game as a character,
I think Tali's a well written character and believable enough, but I hate her rabid fanbase that will tear me a new behind if I even so much as mention her flaws as a character and their creepy obsession with her makes me abandon all hope for the Tali fanbase.

Anyone mentioned Silent Hill yet? I take a gander around the various forums every now and again, and in all fairness, I am yet to stumble across a fanbase that can hold such well-written, thought-out, and imaginative discussions as Silent Hill's...but by God, are there ever some assholes over there. That portion are either elitists or unnecessarily confrontational and argumentative, or both. It's the kind of thing that leads to ridiculously long debates (seriously, it was like, over forty pages long!) that basically went like this:

#2: NO HE ISN'T
#1: YES HE IS
#2: NO HE ISN'T
#3: I THINK HE ISN'T RAPING THEM BUT IT HAS SEXUAL OVERTONES.

Also, the portion of, I think, every fanbase that demand crappy sequels so long as it's more of the same; I think Yahtzee wrote an article about it a while back. Case in point: BioShock fans who responded to Infinite with the knee-jerk reaction of "BUT IT'S NOT SET IN RAPTURE BAAAAAAAW" even though we all know another game in Rapture would suck.

Battlefield - People putting the blame on the team for losing instead of taking responsibility for their actions. Also, constant comparing to Call of Duty
Portal - "THE CAEK IS A LIE. ZOMG IM SO ORIGINAL."
Portal 2 - "SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!" That meme got old within a week.
TF2 - Extreme obsession with hats.

Me for example, I love the MegaTen franchise, but I can't stand my fellow fans sometimes. Whether it's the ones who just whine that every game they release isn't Persona 5, the ones who automatically assume everyone who plays the games are just as big an anime watching Japanophile as they are.

I'm sure everyone has at least one series they love where they can't stand the fans. What's yours?

I guess I can also say the Tales games have a pretty bad fanbase. After all, people actually liked Dawn of the New World. And Monster Hunter. Just... Good god, do not play Tri, and if you do, never play with people you don't know online. Ever.

I love blops. Its a good game. ((except for the lack of dedicated servers))
But most of the people who play it are..... lets be honest, annoying scrubs.
I play it alot. More then most other games these days. ((other then Minecraft and LoL)) But its the people that play it that ruin it for me.

Final Fantasy. The Final Fantasy VII fanboys/girls are so fucking annoying. As a die-hard fan of Final Fantasy I can admit that Sephiroth wasn't that great, Cloud was boring, and VII as a whole wasn't as good as other middle-generation Final Fantasies, and those "OMG SEPHIROTH FTWWW <3<3<3" "OMG CLOUD ISH TEH SECKSH <3<3<3" and "OMG STFU SEPHIROTH HAS WAY MOER PERSUNALITY THAN ENNY OF YOR VILLUNS SO STFU OMG OMG OMG" people annoy the fucking hell out of me. To be perfectly honest, no offence to people who love VII (unless you're one of those people who love VII), I really don't get why VII is so hyped.
Don't get me wrong, I do like VII, just not as much as the other middle-generation ones. I can happily play it as long as I'm not reminded of those people.

Me? I'm just annoyed at the sort of fans that post pictures of Cloud x Sephiroth and implode at any mention of anyones' opinion that doesn't like VII. Mostly the ones that obsess over VII just because other people do. You can't seriously deny they're annoying...?

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 fans. The playerbases of other Battlefield games were great, possibly the best I've ever encountered, but the Bad Company 2 playerbase seem to be comprised of mostly uncommunicative retards. I remember in the days before the Vietnam expansion, everyone on the Bad Company 2 forums was complaining that new content wasn't being released frequently enough, even though the base content hardly even seemed finished, with balance issues and glitches up the arse. And who did DICE listen to? The playerbase, of course. So while we got new content, aka the Vietnam expansion, (which, admittedly, was very well designed, albiet less interesting with the dated weaponry,) the old content was left to rot, unpolished and never to reach it's full potential, a potential that if reached, could've been the world's best FPS. Ever. Thanks to Bad Company 2's ADD, CoD-player-reject fanbase, that potential was never reached.
