Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
Such a good game, but so many glitches, a shoddy stealth/combat system and repetitive enemies. But still such a fun game overall. The scenarios and general cast is worthy of the World of Darkness and some of the text options are just hilarious. And the haunted hotel level was incredibly scary despite so little happening.
I Completely agree. If they had marketed the game better and spent more time polishing it than battling with Valve, who knows what the 3rd installment would have been like.

I am curious at the few posts of L4D2 myself. There aren't any huge bugs, the only real flaw I see is that Coach and Rochelle are grossly inferior to Louis and Zoey. Otherwise the only real issues are player exploits, but I will never hold idiot cheating communities against a game.

And for people mentioning Fallout 3: same solution as Oblivion, mod that baby up. The nice thing about FO3 is it doesn't run like a complete brick when you mod the game, so it's easy to fix some of the biggest mistakes of the game. Take FO3, add Mart's Mutant Mod, Advanced Cripple Effects, TAG! + Skillbook Redux, T3T Weapon Tweaks, and Repair Rethought Reborn. What do you get? An almost entirely new game. Same story, but encounters will play out much differently, with a geniue difficulty curve now. Plus if you use atmospheric stuff like Fellout MMM will make the game goddam scary. Creep around at night when it's dark as hell, suddenly a giant swarp of Night Ghouls start eyeing you for dinner and bumrush you. Chaos ensues!

Such good times. Main reason I didn't mention FO3 is compared to Oblivion, it wasn't all that problem ridden in my eyes. Needed like 6 mods to fix what Bethesda messed up, while I have something like 180 running on Oblivion and need to use Wrye Bash to make them all work. =O

MW2. I mean sure, the multi-player has all manner of problems, but I play it anyways because it's so damn fun.

Only two come to mind here: Final Fantasy X and Starfox Adventures.

Final Fantasy X: I LOVE THIS GAME. Just about everything in it kicks ass! Although the lip syncing makes me CRAZY. There's also a lot of little things they put in that were only there once. Like they wanted to see how it would work, decided to trash it, but forgot to take it out. Also, the 'dream' plot seemed rather weak to me...

Starfox Adventures: The voice work is... crap. You can tell that they recorded the lines all separately because of sudden, unnecessary changes in tone. Also, this game has a bad habit of repeating information to you. For instance, when you first learn why the planet is falling apart, the Queen explains why it's happened. Later, after you get the first spell stone, Peppy comes on and explains it all over again in practically the same wording! And Fox needs to pick a bloody personality. Cool guy with a witty attitude, or noble, rightous hero? Grumble.

But flaws aside, these two are still among my favorites. :)

Dungeon Keeper 2.
KotOR2.
Mercenaries 2.
Fable 2.
Just Cause 2.
Prototype.
Overlord 2.

Anyone else notice the surprising amount of sequels in this list?

Despite having an unlikeable protagonist and a story that isn't particularly engaging and unintersting missions, I loved Prototype's open world and gameplay so much that it didn't bother me.

Darkest of Days, anyone? I like it. I'm willing to say that. The huge flaws in the graphics and map departments are, quite sensibly, related to the fact that the game engine supports over 250 independently moving and animated AI's, and it makes sacrifices for it. Maybe I'm biased because Darkest of Days, as reviews pointed out, had graphics that looked about 5 years old in closeups - but I still play Battlefield 1942, and that game's way uglier than Darkest of Days could ever hope to be.
