I had a couple of game I played, that sounded like the stuff I'd have great fun with
but just couldn't get over some details that killed the fun for me. I tried and invested quite a lot of play time but at one point it's like "screw this, i'm supposed to have fun with this or not?!"

1. Deus Ex, because the shooting was just so wooden...it just didn't feel very fun
2. Morrowind, because of the walls of text. I don't have problem reading lots of text, but then it should be written better, and the dialog system just wasn't very well designed at all

Oblivion. My experience "Wow this is fun, hey I just killed a bandit, wow this is really good!" Turns left and sees an NPC swimming in the water who gets killed by a fish and then another runs into a fence and keeps running into it "Damn, there goes this games fun"

I really wanted to like Dragon Age. I tried to force myself to like it. Couldn't get more than six hours in with any character. I liked walking around and talking to people, I liked the characters, but as soon as someone drew a weapon, I lost all interest. I guess I'm just not as patient as I was in the days of KotOR.

Shadow of the Colossus. Is it just me or were the climbing controls overly complicated? I couldn't even beat the first colossus.

Maybe just because I played Oblivion first, I couldn't get into it

Test Drive Unlimited (Or should I say "Limited") 2 because of the cheapness it has...

Ok, it's really old, but I found Maniac Mansion to be one of the most annoying point and click adventure games ever. Despite how there are no negative reviews of it to be found ANYWHERE on the internet, the logic behind many of the puzzles didn't make sense and the fact that you can throw away vital story items was a deal breaker for me. I wasn't expecting the 20 year old game to blow me away, but it definitely blew.

Oblivion; in theory, it has tons of things I would like in a game.
I just find it so dull though, and it has a weird soullessness about it.

I'm hoping Skyrim fixes this, because I really do want to enjoy the series.

I couldn't get into Shadow of the Colossus. I tried for days to ignore everything that bugged me about it. I guess my biggest gripe was steering my damn horse. Maybe I'm incompetent? :/

Mass Effect. I hated both of the games. The world and races were pretty neat, but that was it.

KotoR 1. I played and loved Kotor2, and then went to the first one, but it just wasn't as good somehow. And people often prefer the first one...

Elder Scrolls Daggerfall, it's fun, but keeping track of quests was hard and having a set amount of days to complete them was really annoying. Still want to try it again someday because I do like it still.

Dragon Age: Origins, the combat system just wasn't for me personally. The story was nice and Bioware-y as usual, but i couldn't bring myself to finish it :[

World of Warcraft, it really seems like the playing with other people would be awesome time.
but having to level up to level 60 before the game gets fun is really annoying to me.

Baldur's Gate. I've heard it praised time and again and I could not get into it. I felt like the entire UI and engine was designed by someone who disliked me.

System Shock 2, on the other hand, I didn't want to get into. I started to dislike it early on and then just started hating it the further I got into it. Hell if I know why I finished it. Sheer bloody-mindedness I guess.
