Anyway, I have to say Dark Sector. I got that game because I was bored, and I was fully expecting it to suck, but it ended up being fun. Really fun.
I saw the trailer and prerelease stuff for Dark Sector and figured it was lacking in polish, but it seemed like it was inventive enough to at least rent. Of course, I haven't even gotten any new games in months; maybe I'll pick it up.

I have to say, if there's any game worth having a PSP for, it's Loco Roco. My buddy has it and it owns in hectares.

Bioshock. I didn;t know what to expec from the game when I first picked it up, but I think the thing that hooked me into it was the story. I fucking loved it.

Before I played Kingdom Hearts, I thought it bore one of the most idiotic concepts ever used in a game. When I played it, I loved it. It's amazing how well that concept worked, considering I hated it so.
As well.

I went in having no idea what to except what I got from funky commercials and some Disney characters I saw.

I just had such a great time.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Kings bounty (pc) dled the demo and absolutly fell in love with it
heroes of might and magic dark massiah (it looks like a generic fps fantasy world that got rid of all the fantastic art direction of heroes V but its a pretty fun game with alot of tactical options)
COD4 (I was planning to ignore it till it got cheap since its single player was really short but it came with a graphics card I got and Ive been totaly hooked on its multiplayer and to my shame only beat it once single)
*sigh* world of warcraft (I got it thinking I would only play it like a couple months like most mmos but ended up getting hooked for years, Im better now tho)

I completly forgot to mention Dark Messiah of Might and Magic... That game seemed like absolute shit, but ended up being incredible fun and I had a terrific time with everything in that game

Why thank you. I believe it's original.

System Shock 2
(of course after i spent an hour trying to figure out why it crashed every 2 seconds, dual processors just rape the game)

I was really surprised, I hate RPG games, but for once i enjoyed going through corridors and getting better stuff, hacking, hitting the things on the wall for fun just to see them crumble, leveling up.

Also, when i saw Oblivion gameplay for the first time, i thought "wow that game is awesome, FPRPG, could be awesome!" so i looked up its previous installments to play, since i used to oly afford a refurbished xbox that crashed every 20 minutes.
Bought morrowind and was surprised at how great it was, i expected voice acting, but i was like eh, and it turns out i would go with Morrowind over oblivion anyday.

all of the older games really set the bar, and i bet if people would try the first fallouts, they may enjoy those more too.

The Sims 2. I despised the first Sims, because my girlfriend couldn't get enough of it - leading to a significant decrease in my wealth, all thanks its ungodly expansion packs being pumped out every few months. On top of that I also didn't like the gameplay much either.
Funnily enough, a few years ago I played The Sims 2 at a friend's house and really enjoyed it! And it was quite enjoyable leading innocent sims into a pool and removing the ladder.

Sometimes the Grim Reaper took a dump in my toilet. Best glitch ever.

Ah, Katamari Damacy, most definitely.

All the more fun was when I showed the opening sequence and some gameplay to my fellow hobby gamers and listened to their "WTF?"-ish reactions.

And Gungrave.

NHL 2K5. I never would've thought to play so many matches against my brother. There's such a lack of co-op or just plain local multiplayer games for the 360!

Beyond Good and Evil.
Most of you have probably heard of it, most of you have probably never played it.
When it was part of the Ubisoft Classic Pack deal on Steam recently, I bought it and tried it out. I had heard it was good, but it looked kind of childish and I didn't think it would be great.
I was wrong. After about 20 minutes I loved it, I played for 6 hours straight the first day, and another 6 the next, when I finished it. It is an absolutely brilliant game. It's a game where the developers tried to do everything, and against all odds did it all beautifully.

I would suggest buying it, it's only $10 US but I would pay more than that.

Metal Gear Solid. I now love the series, but back when the first one came out, everyone was busting my balls about it. And seeing how it was the beginning of the shovelware era and my trust on people's taste had dropped significantly, I thought it was just a hyped piece of shit.

And then I played the game and I fell in love. Complete 180.

Futari ha Precure Arienaai Yume no Kuni ha Daimeikyuu. You'll have never, ever, ever heard of it, because it's a platform game starring two Magical Girls. You control one girl at a time, and have to use both to solve puzzles (They're both in the same level), collect the Hearts, not get killed, beat up food based enemies (Curse you, sugar based foods.) and get to the goal within the time limit. Contains wierd minigames that made no sense. One of the girls wears Blue, and has blue hair. The other wears black and pink, and has ginger hair. I think the Ginger one is better. There was also a sequel/spinoff/something called Futari wa Precure Max Heart - Maji Maji Fight de IN Janai, which introduced a blonde Magical Girl, and had you play as each one in turn across a variety of Super Mario-esque platform levels.

Do not, at any cost, ask why I know of (And have played through) these two videogames. They are both, so you know, on the Game Boy Advance.

I was expecting God of War to be a mediocre hack-'n'-slash and was pleasantly surprised at how much effort went into the game.

LEGO Star Wars was another game that I'm not ashamed to say I enjoyed massively, despite having reservations about it.
these plus the original fallout, even tho i only recently got it
still holds up pretty well
also Super Monkey Ball, freakishly addictive

PN03, looked poor but was fun
Wipeout (series) as Im not into racing games but it so addictive
Unreal 3, need I say more?
Morrowind but the combat can be improved.
I'd have to agree with PN03, that was one I wasn't expecting... Picked it up in the bargain bin, and got a gem... Lucky me.
Got mine from the bargain bin too
