You were this weird green poltergeist thing, living in a families house. Now, the family couldn't see you, you would walk amongst them and they would have no idea you were there. The objective was to scare the family out of the house, one by one, by controlling household objects to do weird paranormal stuff, thereby scaring the living daylights out of the family members!
I remember that this cost energy, and your energy also slowly decreased with time. You refilled your energy by picking up green slime. If you ran out of energy, you would be sent to what I can only assume must be the underworld? There was a bunch of green slime there, and you refilled your energy and went back. Maybe there were things that could kill you there? Maybe. Anyway, that was the first thing that I found frightening about this game.
The first couple levels were easy, then there were enemies in the house. Flying demonic heads kinda enemies. Scared the bejeezus out of me every time, and I wouldn't play anymore (come on, I was like 4 or 5). They would do is drain your energy, and send you to the underworld, which sucks because I was scared of that too!
Part of the reason I posted this in the hope that someone could tell me the name of this game. I'd like to give those demonic heads something they've had coming to them for 20-odd years!! Thanks!
Game was called 'Haunting: Starring Polter-guy'. You were a skater who was killed by a businessman's shady practices so you decided to make him suffer some. Actually was a real fun game.Whobajube said:There was a weird game for the Sega Genesis that I rented a few times, and it scared the heck out of me every time! Thing is I can't remember the name.

Ah yes, the arachnatron. I can only managed what the spider mastermind would've been like for you.iHaile said:It was my very first gaming experience. My dad sat me infront of Doom (on DOS) and a giant brain on cyborg spider legs startled me into a corner. It proceded to fire green shit at me and make loud robot noises until I fell with a bloodcurdling scream (my dad turned the volume to max), I proceeded to cry.
Doom 3 gave me the creeps too... so much dark.
