PROTOTYPE

A million Alex Mercers portraying their emoness.

Heres an actual concept tho.

There are 3 parties.

Elizabeth Greene Strain of the Virus: Led by Elizabeth Greene, who is fast but has no attack power by herself (off Canon, but better for Multiplayer) basically generates a ton of hunters and cannon fodder, while she, every 10 minutes or so makes a supreme hunter, her goal is to destroy the military and Mercer. Playable characters, Elizabeth Greene, Supreme Hunters, and hunter leaders, where you take control of multiple hunters AND the leader.

Alex Mercer: One guy, randomly selected. (I suspect hosts will usually choose this option for themselves, which is why it is random) You are the ultimate badass, kill Greene, and then the military. This is only a suggestion, as you can kill however you damn please. Playable characters: Alex Mercer

Military: Led by a General, who instead of being incredibly fast will be incredibly well defended, will command an incredible amount of tanks, helicopters, and soldiers. Easily the most powerful group, but there is a catch. They must keep the majority of the city content, or they will recieve and executive order to leave, thereby eliminating them from the game. Playable Characters: The General, Captains (like the dude with the baton in the story), Blackwatch commandoes (you could have enhanced powers, and the ability to control multiple people.)

Its rough around the edges, but i think it sounds cool.

(dont kill me for my arrogance please XD)

Batman: Arkham Asylum. The game is already close to perfection, in my opinion. Adding in co-op would make it even better. Maybe in the sequel? Here's to hoping.

Only read the first page of this topic but i gotta say any of the Elder Scrolls or Fallout games would be terrible without half the game being redesigned, bear in mind, in those games if something dies, it usually stays dead (because of this, players could wipe out important npcs.) Also the economic system in Morrowind (not sure about Oblivion) is so terrible even one player can barely receive anything for doing quests. When i played i had to wipe out half of a city just to use their homes as warehouses for the crap i couldn't sell, and usually going into one of them after stocking it would lag enough to crash the game.
Also any Legend of Zelda would be horrible. Yeah the game is a lot of fun, but there are zero multiplayer elements that could be seen easily, the only way to introduce multiplayer (online or otherwise) would require changing the game to much to even be a Zelda game.

Pokemon could work as an mmo if the servers had player limits, i mean the game is so basic all you would have to do is just drop other players into the world and have npcs challenge anyone they haven't seen before.

Any racing game could be done, not like it's that hard, same with generic fighting games and strategy games. Not many single player mmo's however, but thats obvious because they are designed specifically not to support multiplayer. Can't really think of any games that should have online support added (besides the first Halo because I very much hate the second and thirds lack of health feature,) But thats probably because every game that should be online, either is already or has an almost exact clone that is due to companies being dicks and stealing ideas from each other (not that it's a bad thing, at least not always.)

Oh yeah and they tried putting "The Sims" online with the game "Sims Online" and everyone hated it, also they already have a Star Wars MMO, why would we need KOTOR it's not even that good... it's actually retardedly linear so everyone would be doing the same thing.

Hitman, don't ask me how they'd pull it off, I just know the results could be kickass. Well, as long as they didn't do a stupid deathmatch, but rather have a target that some players have to guard, and other hitmen have to compete to assassinate first. I could try and explain how it would all work, but I'm feeling pretty lazy right now.

No Oblivion multiplayer. An oblivion MMO would suck major ass! An arena thing would be cool but very unbalanced.

Leave TES to its off line glory
I respectfully disagree. While I have no doubt that an MMO treatment would ruin the play, I think small private servers would add a lot. Imagine a Bethesda-sized world with, say, 20 or so players all statring in different areas. Introduce level caps and minimums, add some high end dungeons and lairs, I think it would be great fun. This idea applies to Fallout 3 as well. Exploration with a friend or 2 would add so much playability.
While I would love a Fallout 3 MMO, I doubt it would be very entertaining considering that after a certain level all monsters are piss easy to kill alone, let alone with a group. I got bored out of my skull with Fawkes helping me out as he killed everything in sight before I figured out where the opponent is. I'd hate to imagine how it would be like with 19 other heavy players by my side.

The only fun factor I could really think of is seeing how other players would have decked out their characters. I would imagine that no one would wear the winterised power armour so they won't seem like pussies, and 80% of players would be wearing the sheriff's coat.

I would say Fallout 1,2,3 plus all the sims + Elder Scrolls + KOTOR ,2
This :)

But limited online not MMO or open server like CoD games. Just with friends maybe up to party of 6. Playing through Oblivion in a Wizardry 8 style Iron Man mode with a couple of friends would be awesome.

Why has not one of you said timesplitters, seriously the timesplitters series has the most epic local multiplayer so imagine how amazing it would be online.
Didn't Timesplitters Future Perfect (The third one for those who don't know) have online on xbox live? I didn't have xbox live then so I don't know much about that. And whatever happened to timesplitters four?
I didn't know Future Perfect was online on the Xbox, if it's true and I'd known I would have obssessively played it. As for the fourth one I just read on the most reliable website on the internet, wikipedia, that they had to changed engines sometime during development which is why it is still in development. I'm expecting changes now it's on new generation consoles but the one thing which I hope they keep in number 4 though is the commentry from Tony the Tiger.

I would want some form of co-op for Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. My friends and I want to be able to play with each other, possibly to help with quests or just to mess around. Hopefully a 2-4 player form of co-op would be fun, although it would be hard for them to make it happen.

I've heard that for the pc there is a mod for Oblivion that allows multiplayer.

Hellgate: London, with the North America servers shut down, there is no multiplayer functionality anymore, which is a big shame because it was stupidly fun online.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R., yeah, I know there's a Counterstrike clone multiplayer mode, but, I mean multiplayer in the single player maps. (I don't mean MMO)

Two Worlds, again there was a multiplayer mode, but, I wish it had had multiplayer integrated into the SP campaign.

I always thought it would be cool if there was a mode in Hitman where two assassins compete to kill one target.

I'd really like a Harvest Moon online game... There's a rumor about one being made, but that's just a rumor right now.

Also; Mass Effect and Legend of Zelda (non-cell shaded).
