Back in the day, G-Police for the PC was THE game for me. As I revisited it, I wished it had better graphics. I'm saddened by the loss of space flight games in which you could blast the piss out of other space pilots. If I ever make it into the games industry, I plan to make a game quite similar.

P.S.
Get a hold of a copy of G-Police yourselves, it's by Psygnosis.

Pac-Man. It like seems so old and totally stupid.

SARCASM. I think graphics should be third after story and gameplay.
Thats why pacman has great and complex story (i never got it actually, and i dont know someone who does), and gameplay (you can move in 4 different directions) :p
I would want to play Baldurs Gate 1, its graphics are (in my opinion) awful, and the ambients keep emphasizing that awfulnes with their monotonicity. Wierd thing is that i really liked planescape torments graphics wich were made on recessive version of infinity engine compared to that of baldursgate.

Modern Warfare 2 and Bad Company 2. Sort of.

They don't need to look better, they just need to let the player see better. I can't tell what's going on for shit in these two.

None of the games I'm interested in playing have shitty graphics when you look at the era they were released in. I follow a formula now to determine if a game is worth playing.

The quality of graphics / the reputation of the company that made it = my willingness to play it

Thermo scope ftw

I would say that WoW is really lagging on the graphics front, though that fact is one of its strengths since you can play it on any computer.

Legend of Dragoon

Great game that i started to replay recently and man is it slow/ugly...if they could modernize it i would be in heaven

also any of the old final fantasy games(although preferably 3-7...1 and 2 were fun but compared to later FF's too simplistic)

For me, it's generally not the graphics that are a problem with older games, but the interfaces. Some old games have aged very well, and I have no issues with them, but going back and trying to play the original Fallout last year was pretty painful. Same with StarCraft, even. Playing FF4 after FF6 was a miserable experience. It doesn't look hugely different at first glance, but they cleaned up a bunch of things in the time between when the two came out. Star Control 2 is just fine, though, despite being a good deal older than any of those but FF4, even without any of the enhancements in UQM. It really depends on the individual game.

You would think that, but then you actually play through the re-vamp and it shatters all of your childhood memories of how cool those games were to begin with. The older Final Fantasy titles were cool because they were telling an intense story with very limited graphic capability. When you go back and make the games look more realistic, with the over-the-top character design and whimsical effects, the game seems just plain silly and you feel embarrassed for thinking it was so intense when you were 13.

At least I do.

I wouldn't play things more siimply for a visual improvement, but I play Fallout 3 a lot and it certainly wouldn't suffer from some better graphics and/or character animations.
Yeah, I'd love if F3 had better animations. I don't understand why Bethesda are so far behind the curve on this.

Graphics shouldn't matter to anyone.
Because everyone loves being able to count the number of pixels their game is displayed on with the fingers of two hands.
If a game is defined solely of its graphic detail, than that's really sad. I don't care about the level of detail. Sure, it's nice to see realistic faces and objects, but it shouldn't be crucial. I'd play Deus Ex any day over Crysis.

What the fuck happened to L4D2's weapon animations? Floaty guns are NOT cool. It actually puts me off the game.

I finally decided to, ahem, 'upgrade' from the 360 version of TF2 to the PC version... just so I could change the FOV to 120 degrees.

Crysis...oh wait.
Somebody has very high standards. I know your joking by the way.

I know borderlands has it's own style going on but I would much prefer a more "real life" looking game, if it had that, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Definatley Dragon Age, I'm gonna sound so shallow but I really struggle playing that game and the graphics are a big part of it. I dont get because I still play Snes, PS1 and PS2 games regularly but DAO is just so brown. Whenever I think of that game I just think brown. Im playing the XBOX version so maybe thats it but my god, I know people give FFXIII a lot of stick for being linear but the way I look at it is, would you rather go to only to Rome or a string of little England villages?

I dont play games for the visuals. Although they help, I'd never let a game with bad visuals stop me from playing.
