Bioshock. Yes it's a brilliant and intelligent game, but -setting aside- it is almost completely unoriginal.

Starcraft 2 had tons of money and I'd say starcraft 2 was better than all the halo's combined.
I'm totally fine with your opinion on Halo, I just totally disagree.
I just don't understand how you can compare a PC-only RTS with a FPS Shooter series.
Starcraft 2 may be amazing, I have yet to play it, I just don't think it's possible to compare the two.

1) Call of Duty (People need to notice a broken multiplayer game when it is right in front of them)
2) Halo (Sure I like them, but calm down people.)
3) Half Life (There is nothing cool about Gordan Freeman, not even in the slightest)
4) Portal (A rather boring, pointless game)
5) Team Fortress 2 (Fun at first, but you guys need to stop obsessing on such a repetitive game.)

And....I think thats about it. Sure there are plenty of bad games out there, but these are the common obsessions that bother me.

Half Life 2, and anything made by bioware, both of them are good games granted, but Im just so sick of every thread related to good gameplay, classics, famous stories, recomendations, or any other form of game praise being littered with JUST those titles.

Wait, what was the point of this topic again?

If it is a good game then praise it. I have nothing against it, even if they praise games I personally don't get at all like Halo series, WOW or Modern Warfare.
And a note: if you don't like the praise then either a)deal with it because there will always be fans/fanboys who will praise their object of admiration no matter what any of us say or do or b) stop using the internet because it's the only way to stop hearing the praise or at least scale down the amount you hear.

People bitching about halo. Ok, you disliked it: we get it.
That goes for the other side of the spectrum, too.

They're decent, but when you think about it, almost every sequel is the same game with a new feature.

BioShock
surprised no one else had said it yet, idk why, everyone is like "so awesome" i just couldnt get into it, it felt too rushed, like i kept having to move forward, i couldnt slow down to enjoy the game out of fear a splicer ripping my cock off
I'll say Bioshock as well. It was an interesting enough world I suppose but I never found the game mechanics all that interesting. It was a middling shooter that included an utterly irrelevant upgrade system. Honestly, where I was expecting something similar to System Shock, I was handed the a spiritual successor that was the equivalent to Deus Ex Invisible War. It was a perfectly functional game and obviously exactly what plenty of people wanted. It just wasn't the game I wanted. My first two attempts to play the game ended in frustration and irritation. Eventually, months after purchase, I sat down and finally got far enough along that the story and world started to compensate for gameplay that bored me to tears and I finished the game.

Half Life 2. I didn't think the game was that good at all. Nothing in the "plot" is explained at all, you are required to have played the first one to know wtf is going on.

Portal. Its a decent puzzle game, but hardly revolutionary.

Team Fortress 2. *yawn* A.V.A. is a much more interesting and fun FPS.

Minecraft. This game is incredibly boring. And the "retro" graphics don't do it for me.

World of Warcraft. Will people just shut up about it already?

Counter Strike. Should have died years ago.

Slim Jims. I will never eat one of these "meat sticks" again.
Where the other 3 are just your personal tastes, the game Half-Life 2 has a huge plot. You just have to pay attention in the game. Honestly, the only thing in the game explained by Half-Life 1 is how the aliens came, everything else is in the game. As for Portal, it's not the game that made it so good, it's the writing. It did do the puzzle section very well and it was very innovative, but the writing is the thing that people usually praise.

This
In fact, everything from Valve
They're great, we get it
CoD
Bioshock
System Shock 2
Deus Ex
Morrowind
Bioware's games (and that's coming from a hardcore Bioware fanboy who has no doubt annoyed other with such praise, but enough is enough at some point.)
The two first fallouts
Planescape: Torment
Bioshock
Minecraft
WoW
Silent Hill 2
Painkiller. It flowed like ass if you tried to actually collect the damn souls, the bosses weren't all that great and the graphics looked like something I'd expect from the wii
Zelda games
Early sonic games
Bioshock
Mafia 1&2
Braid
The Persona games (you'd think they were the jesus of JRPGs or something)
CHRONO MOTHERFUCKING TRIGGER. Seriously, it's dull as all hell
Earthbound, for reasons mentioned in the above entry. Yawn-o-Rama
Final Fantasy VII. People. It's over a decade since it came out. Shut up already.
To some extent, shadow of the colossus

I realize this post makes me look like a hateful, hateful monster, but I'm just in need of some venting =P
Do any fucking games deserve praise to you? At least you're consistent i can say that much. =)

Grand Theft Auto 4
Super Mario Galaxy
Modern Warfare (1 and 2)
World of Warcraft (seriously? i could get the same entertainment playing Runescape and THAT'S free)
Uncharted (1 and 2)
Killzone (samey repetitive shooter that just gets praise because its a console exclusive)
Metal Gear (see Yahtzee's comments on Hideo Kojima)
Final Fantasy (any and all JRPGs for that instance)

We get it, you don't like any games receiving praise. Also you suck for mentioning Earthbound.
