I bought MW2 three times because the first copy I had got scratched because my xbox got moved while it was still on, I sold my second copy to someone because I got Battlefield Bad Company 2, then my friend stopped playing it and all of my friends were back to MW2 so I got it off a friend for 30 bucks the third time.

I bought Guitar Hero 3 three times because the first time the disc glitch up on some songs, and the second time I bumped my 360 with it in and it ate the disc. I don't even like GH3 that much, it's just such a good game to have around at parties.

But seriously, it's a pretty major flaw in a game system if just getting bumped while on makes it eat your game.

I've bought Mass Effect 3 times. Once on release day, again when I lost my disc and again on Steam.

Sort of.
I bought both Pokemon Red and Blue (Because I lost the former)
I bought Silver and Crystal (Lost the former)
I bought Emerald and Ruby (Lost the ladder)

Other than that, no. I buy a game once. If I lose it, that's too bad. I've got other stuff to buy, and I haven't managed to get a job yet, so I don't really have money to burn.

Oblivion. I first got it on PC, but my pc couldn't handle it (even on lowest video settings). I then bought it along with my Xbox 360. A few months later I sold it so I could stop being so addicted to that goddamn never-ending game. A few years later, I bought the Game of the Year Edition, picked up where I left off, beat all the extra content, and got all the remaining achievements. It was quite a run. :)

Banjo-Kazooie: 3
Ocarina of Time: 3
Majora's Mask: 2
Resident Evil 4: 3

Story time!
Banjo because when I was a kid, my parents bought it for me. However, I left the cartridge on top of an active lampshade (give me a break. I was 8 or so) and it melted. So I saved up and bought it again. Then, I bought it once more through the X-Box arcade.

Ocarina was a gift when I was younger. Loved it, played it nonstop. Bought it on the Wii virtual console day it came out. And about a year ago, I found the classic gold cartridge for 2.50 at a local gamestore. Bought it on principle. I'll be buying it a 4th time with the 3ds too.

Majora's Mask is the same story as Ocarina, minus the gold cartridge bit. Hopefully be buying it a third time with the 3DS, as its my favorite Zelda game, and third favorite game of all time.

Resident Evil 4 is just once on every system, except PC.

I admire your dedication to Tales of Symphonia, my favorite game ever. I need to add that to my list, as I had to buy it a second time because someone stole my original. And I'm going to have to buy it again as I've lost the second disc.

I've bought Morrowind twice to nag it on a Steam sale, just for the convenience of stashing away the disc to preserve it forever. I swear we have like six copies of Starcraft around here, namely due to my brother and I each having a battlechest and a friend who moved away donating his copy. Also bought the original Rollercoaster Tycoon three times, each and every one due to a scratched disc. Worth every penny. Funny thing is, we still have a working disc of Dino Park Tycoon from 1993. Crazy stuff.

Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, but the CD key rubbed off due to the cheap labels and Blizzard didn't have a contingency for that yet. Picked up a replacement for $5 when the local Sam Goody went out of business.

That's only two, but it's as close as I've come.

After todays Steams sale, I now own five copies of Oblivion. I also own three copies of Morrowind. I think I really love The Elder Scrolls.

Aw you like Oblivion better than Morrowind?
:(

Only my Steam games have been bought twice, because my old account got disabled (dont use hax fag lol)

EDIT: I suppose this counts..

A few games I used to have copies of, but lost them, so I pirated the game. Before you ask, yes, that's completely legal.

My siblings bought Resident Evil 4 for the GameCube and then realized years later that the other versions have more content, so they got the Wii version. Wanting to play the game with an actual controller, we ended up getting the PS2 version as well. And thanks to player mods, they're now interested in the PC version...

Diablo 2 and the expansion twice each. I needed the extra CD keys since I have more than 1 PC and it's easier to rush myself and transfer items.
