OT: Never cared much for 1337 myself.

IT MAKES NO SENSE
Agreed. Also, it's very, very overused.

There is actually no others that I hate.

EDIT: Is extremely bad grammar and writing considered internet/gaming slang?

Everything to do with internet and text speech really grates on my nerves!

It's not any easier to read at all, and it especially irks me with all the mixed up cApiaLIsaTIoN.

GAH!

What's wrong with good old standard english?

when WoW players use "gz" as short for Congratulations

In WHAT way does gz resemble Congratulations
Congratulations ---> congrats -----> Grats -----> Gratz ----> gz

It's just a shortening down with a bit of douchebag letter changing halfway through.

O.T. I can put up with any forms of internet abbreviations except when girls decide to add extra extra consonants to a word they have shortened and end up making it longer than it was originally.

e.g. Like to lykkk

qqmore, and only qqmore. Although I've gotten over it by naming my Kiss Barbarian QQMOAR, plus I haven't played DotA lately so I haven't heard this phrase uttered by players unwilling to accept anything one says as anything but complaints...Even when I say something to the effect of "gg."

btw, the Kiss Barbarian is the Green Warrior in Gauntlet Legends. Seriously, he looks like a member of Kiss in his portrait.

congratulations>congrats>grats>gratz>gz

I understand it but I only go as far as 'grats'.

OT: Uhm, I don't really mind any internet slang. But I hate the lack of proper grammar or spelling that people feel is okay as they are on the internet. I understand not everyone is good at writing but at least make your writing understandable.

I was previously educated by a friend of mine who used to play WoW a lot.
he went through a lot of the terminology with me and he did explain this, I just think its a really stupid abrieviation. Do players really level up to 80 so often that you don't have time to type Congratulations, or even Congrats

Pr0n,noob,newb,plox and all the lols, rofls and what not when used verbally.

I also hate abbreviations in game (especially when I played Wow)

"LFM ICC 25/10 - Link ach GS"

I had to learn a new language to play that game and then sadly used it. (Hypocrite)

WC, when used as 'wrong chat'

"FTW" also used to rattle my balls somewhat but I can let it slide these days.
Same. And for the longest time I thought it meant "Fuck The World", which really confused me when I saw it in "christian" servers all the time. I blame you Tiger Army.

Oh, and the "x thing is x" just pisses me off. Only example I can think of is "obvious troll is obvious"... it makes me want to punch people.

And why is "pwn" better or cooler or whatever than "own", ya know, a real word?
Because alphabetically P is +1 to O. As in L,m,n,O,P. Just like when my friend would page me when he needed info he'd be 511. Because he was just that much more important then 411.

Umm... what? So Pwn is supposed to be better that Own, because P is later in the Alphabet?
Are you fucking kidding me?
I umm... I dunno, I have no words for that... I quit the internet. GOOD-DAY! **throws cloak over shoulder and walks off**

Pwn I just think of as in pawn (like the shop) - in other words getting pwned means you got sold as crap. I don't say it myself but thats how i interpret it

I just hate all the text slang, it pisses me off people saying things like txt - It's one letter less!! Gtg - you could just say bye? 2, u... oh the list goes on.

Also the whole newb and noob are different things idea I can't understand it's the same word just spelled differently

ROFLCOPTER and all it's bastard offspring. That we've reduced emotions to acronyms and symbols is horrible enough, but to degrade them to cheap nonsense is a bridge too far.

Also, people who r3pl4c3 l3tt3rs f0r d1g1t5. Seriously, what where the inventors thinking?!

In this way:
GratZ, which in turn is a horrible abreviation of congratulations.

Oh god, all of this

The abbreviations got ridiculous for new players when it got to things like "LFM UBRS"

And that WC thing always annoyed me cause I'd always go "wailing caverns? screw that"

Rofl and Rolfcopter. As well as when people say "Lol" or whenever people constantly yell Pwned!
