I mean, some missiles get launched, you have an epic gunfight, hop into a jeep, have an even more epic gunfight, then you find yourself on a bridge, slow motion pistol kill, end...
What the hell???
It was an amazing ending - i especially like that it all ended with you feeling like you weren't really the hero, just a sorry SOB who happened to be in the wrong unit at the right time. Thats what call of duty has always been about - making you feel like a small part of global conflict - making you feel insignificant. The rest of the game is chock full of death defying stunts, and to me, there was nothing as defiant as using the last slivers of energy in your body to put a bullet in the back of the man who'd made life hell for you. I especially love how the whole thing is denied and covered up with you getting no credit or recognition for your sacrifice, since that is actually what would happen in real life. It was a very poignant ending - the only videogame ending ever to elicit ANY form of emotional response from me. Gaz and Griggs getting executed and Price sliding you the gun and almost dying (being not really sure of his fate) really got me.
