Sonic Heroes had some incredibly awful level designs =P I especially hate the one in the haunted mansion, which has an absolutely mind-murdering finish.
I didn't get all the way through it. I got to Rail Canyon, and then I removed the disc from my PS2, snapped it in half and threw it across the room. Even the sound it made when it hit the wall was disappointing. [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WallBanger]

Every Ninja Gaiden game made me rage quit at least twelve times.

Especially rocket spamming ninjas or exploding shuriken ninjas.
Funnily enough I was about to mention Ninja Gaiden here as well... not the XBox ones, but the original NES games where enemies respawn like flies and the slightest brush with one sends you flying 10 feet. I am of course speaking of Level 6-2 from the first one. Exploding shuriken ninjas with jetpacks and demonic eagles abound. Not the worst level I've ever played in a game, but there are 3 or 4 'hot spots' in it I may never be able to complete reliably. Made worse by the fact that for some reason dying at the boss sends you back to 6-1!

There's a Youtube feature on it among other infamous levels called 'Levels from Hell' that aptly demonstrates just how nasty it is, if you can get past the narrator's constant cursing.

The Library level in Halo:CE on Legendary difficulty...The entire level was one big can of "Piss You Off" Spray. Even the infamous Cortana level in Halo 3 doesn't compare to that trek through the god damn Library in the first one.
I have to disagree. Cortana in Halo 3 was worse for me.

Maybe it's just because of my poor eyesight, but I couldn't see goddamn thing on Cortana. All the walls looked the same and the enemies kept jumping all over your screen, making it hard to navigate the identical tunnels. I often endued up running the wrong way, with infinitely respawning flood behind my back. At least with The Library I knew where I was going.

Plus The Library didn't have those annoying flood that climb on the walls and take forever to kill.

Cry? No. No levels make me cry. I get ticked off at certain levels though, like a custom level in Mega Man: Powered Up that a friend made me play. Every other path leads to instant death.

Jak II: Renegade... All of it. But it was worth it.
Once you beat it one time, it doesn't seem so hard anymore. I mean, that first delivery mission always used to kill me, but after beating the game once, it's not so bad.

EDIT: Whoops. Forgot one more: Omega Pirate, Hard Mode, Metroid Prime. Died three times before taking out the joints on that guy.

The thing with Cortana (and this can be applied to Halo 2 as well) is that you can pretty much skip over large sections of the level. Thats actually why I'll always say Halo:CE was harder then it's two sequels...Especially in Halo 2 there are certain levels where if you knew where to jump and where to go you could skip almost the entire level, making legendary difficulty pretty trivial.

At the end of the day both were balls out hard though.

Any campaign on L4D Expert when you're playing with people who aren't that good. Go try it, it's like pulling teeth.
THESE!!! oh my god I wanna be the guy is the hardest thing ever, it makes mile high club on expert with no weapons grenades or knife seem like my little pony. Same with left 4 dead on expert.

The first Dr Wily stage of Mega Man 9. That part where you have to stop the "lava" crap to walk on made me weep.
Fuck it, the entire classic Mega Man series.

The level in super mario galaxy where you have to role on a ball through lava. The idea of that level was to make kids cry.

I wanted to kill Farah myself, she was so annoying in those parts.

All of Gears 2 on insane was infuriating due to Dom's retarded AI.

But the winner is...

God of War. Hades... spinning spikey columns. Oh dear lord.

The training level in the original Driver game, you had to do this perfect driving test in an underground parking garage and if you couldn't do it you couldn't play the rest of the game. SUCKS.
Oh Fuck yeah I rememeber that shit. It was one of the hardest parts of the game and it was the frickin' tutorial.

I just remember constantly screaming the name of the one where you had to weave in and out the cones. ARGHHHH

O god, things that make me rage.....probably the entire God of War 2 on Titan mode, or Mile high club on vet on CoD4. Wait.....no....the first time i tried to beat the devil in Guitar Hero 3 on expert. I spent a total of 7 consecutive hours trying to beat that guy
After a while I just stopped. Getting there was hell as well. Frickin' Raining Blood. So glad I finished it though. I was so elated when I finally smashed that bastard

Mind refreshing my memory on this?

OT: Trials HD - Inferno. Reduced braver men than me into gibbering wrecks.
Your on a slow-moving elevator, fighting endless waves of enemies in a small space.
I cried too.

I did sort of appreciate that the guard explaining the puzzle was shouting because he was a long way away from you, but it was still bloody annoying.
Actually, I was refering to the elevator that brings you and Farah to the treasure chamber with the hourglass. And while riding it more and more powerful enemies spawn as you not only fight for your own life but for Farah's as well. I've got a save on my memory card so that I never have to experience that horrible elevator section again.

It really wasn't very hard. Did it on first try.

Actually, my worst level I finished this afternoon: King of All Cosmos Temperature level. Every time I got to 9000°C, I got slammed into the river by damn ninjas... (also, damn fire extinguishers and icecream)

- The forest temple on Ocarina

- The sand temple in TP

I don't care that people say that the average hours spent on a Zelda is 45. I usually spend 80-100 hours on Zelda games, because I suck at video games.

I thought I was the only one who wasted money on this game! I too committed mind murder...

Same for Sonic DX. I could not catch that freaking frog... And, after roughtly 25 hours of gameplay, I finally got to the end level as supah sonic. And I shot myself in the face.

Surprisingly, even though those games sucked... Sonic A2B is one of the funnest games I've ever played.

Duuriel was a GIGANTIC WANKER. I fucking died about 8 times on him, which is less than any of the other bosses. In the end, I just chipped away at him by using town portal scrolls. Bastard.
