Juliet was wandering, bored, around campus wondering exactly how long that bastard Seth intended to keep her waiting when she heard a commotion. Well I'm about due for some excitement, let's see what's happening. Smiling mischievously she walked steadily towards the noise and yelling, and was somewhat amused by what she saw. Well then, I didn't expect to see Will getting involved in a fight, doubt he started it at least not intentionally.
For a moment or two (or three) she considered standing back and waiting to see what might happen, but then she sighed and stepped forward to help. Wouldn't do for him to be stuck in the hospital after all. It would if nothing else set back some of her personal plans, and leave her with one less friendly face on the team. Not to mention if he spotted her watching with a smile on her face that would probably ruin things even more.
"Hey ease off him!" she said, stepping between the betas and Will "I'm sure this is all just a misunderstanding, why don't we just forget this ever happened huh? I'm sure you'd all much rather be doing something else right?"
Betas, even she didn't find them attractive, they lacked any notion of subtlety and worse they wore far too much cologne. At least it wouldn't take much effort to put a charm on them, three of them at once was a bit of a challenge but nevertheless the power she laced her words with was sufficient and they grudgingly turned and left, with only one or two grumbles about how they'd catch up with Will later.
Sighing she turned to Will "You alright?" she asked, voice concerned.
Oof, that charm took a little more than I thought. If I keep this up then I might need to eat sooner than planned, though I've still got plenty of power for the time being. Too bad little Will isn't quite ready to help out on that front yet.
Getting out of the car, Viktor departed tuning out Seth and making his towards the nearest building. Only half aware of his surroundings, he dug through his memory to see if the name ?Demigra? came to mind, but to no avail; with any luck his contacts here would have more success. In his distracted state he nearly walked into the same group of ?wolves he?d chased out of the gym earlier in the day, though from the looks of things they didn?t even realize he was there; they were too busy complaining amongst themselves about how some ?little twerp? managed to score such a hottie. Viktor merely shook his head and continued on.
A few moments later he came across William and Juliet standing in the hall, and the Beta?s comment clicked. Chuckling to himself he approached the pair. ?Hello there Will, making friends I see?? He said to, nodding in the direction the Betas had gone. Turing his attention to Juliet, he gave her a small bow. ?I owe you an apology.? He said formally. ?I will admit I have had both professional, and personal, troubles with demons before, but it was unfair of me to tar you with the same brush.?
Tomas look over the times for a class that does extra courses for training in fighting. Deciding that he's gonna need all the help he can get depending on what they fight out there. After he memorize the times he headed back to his room. Finding Jarrah asleep on the couch from watching random Japanese show.
Tomas starts to shake him to get him up. "Jarrah, wake up..its time to get up. You got to go meeting now!" Tomas said he continues to try and get Jarrah up.
William
Will look up at Juliet and blush lightly, "Um..yeah..I-I'm ok..." he said rubbing his arm. "Was just looking for you..Seth said that there a meeting here soon." He said, waiting for her response. Though before any could be said he heard Viktor behind him. Will's eyes grew large as he was about to panic. He was going to say sorry once more, until Viktor apologize to Juliet.
Keeping quiet until they had their small chat as he look up at Viktor. "Yeah..the guys thought I was hitting on one of their girlfriends or...s-something..I was just talking to her was all..."
"Was just looking for you..Seth said that there a meeting here soon."
"Oh, well thank you for telling me," she said with a smile, bastard couldn't meet with me sooner? Dammit, Val Ruk is not going to be happy about being kept waiting so long.
Viktor then arrived, apparently having noticed her getting the Betas to leave, and quite surprisingly apologized for how he had acted earlier. Well then, making friends with Will is paying off in more ways than I'd expected. Now I just have to win over that dragon-boy somehow, hmm.
"I will admit I have had both professional, and personal, troubles with demons before, but it was unfair of me to tar you with the same brush."
Personal troubles? Hm, what sort could those be? Maybe I should ask Val Ruk if he can find anything on that for me, could be useful. Although he might not be in the mood to do me any favors when I contact him, knowing Seth is here is not going to do wonders for his mood.
"Oh that?" she said, waving it off "It's fine, I'm used to people not liking me because of what I am."
She smiled "Thank you for the apology though, I do hope we can be friends. Now if you'll excuse me I should probably get to that meeting, see you both around."
With that she turned and left, Viktor would be able to take care of Will well enough on his own and she wanted to get the meeting with Seth over with quickly. Hoping she wasn't late she went to the meeting spot to find him.
With no more classes for the day and a near-mountain of packing behind him, Jarrah had chosen to do the most logical thing; watch some Japanese television and fall asleep. At least, that was the plan. Just as he felt himself drifting off he felt a hand on his shoulder and a voice calling in his ear.
"Jarrah, wake up..its time to get up. You got to go meeting now!"
Jarrah groaned as he stretched out and sat upright before giving a tired nod. "Meeting, yea, I gotcha."
"A meeting where exactly?"
Not long later, after a quick change of clothes and a little tidying up, Jarrah found himself walking down the hallway back towards the Gungnir meeting rooms. He had no trouble finding the unassuming door again, and, hoping he wasn't late, pushed it open and walked inside.
Seth arrived about the same time as Juliet and Jarrah, and lead them into the room."As with the others, this little meeting is to gage 'where you are' now in terms of your skills and what steps you think would be best to improve for the sake of the team in the missions to come." Seth said after the two made they're way in and found a spot to sit or stand. "So who wants to share first."
mean while ...
Sierra walked out of her room get something to drink, and found Mirabelle was back and messing with her 'invention'. "Hey Mira', when'd you get back?" she asked, not having heard her come back at all due to being lost in her own projects.
Mirabelle looked up from her mixtures and saw Sierra there, apparently not noticing that she was inside until now...well, to be fair, she hadn't noticed Sierra was here too until now.
"Huh? Oh, uh...maybe 2 or 3 hours ago? Sorry, i didn't look at the clock when i came in, i was too focused on fixing my arm." She turned back to her Flexisteel experiment for a second before turning back and clarifying, realizing that Sierra may just want to know why her arm needed to be repaired in the first place.
"Uh...me and Lenah got into a sparring match at her insistance and...we kind of injured each other. It wasn't anything too serious...at least i think, she seemed fine when i left, outside of what i suspect was a bit of bruising, and all i needed was to put some gears back in place so..."
She paused for a moment, remembering her meeting and continued, "She seemed annoyed at Seth apparently glossing over her...speaking of, we already had our meeting. I told him about my fragility problem and Seth suggested that i ask you about enchantments to help with it...at least until i have found an Alchemical or scienti-" she faked a clearing of her throat, hoping that Sierra didn't notice that it wasn't something she needed to do while also thinking up a reason why she would have to in case she did point it out. "Sorry, physics-based solution."
"I guess I will," Juliet said cheerfully "I think I'm fairly capable in combat, though I don't have a whole lot of practice with weaponry."
Not that I've ever needed it, don't often need to fight though I imagine that might change with this group. Still she felt like she had to admit some sort of weakness, they'd no doubt find something she should train with regardless.
"My powers are usually enough for me to get by, though I do need to, heh, recharge if I use them too much," she continued "though I can take care of that myself."
Never had any trouble with that before after all, and once Will has eased up some I'll have at least one person on hand in case I really need to eat something.
Lenah laid in the bed, tired after what seemed to have been a mix of medicine and magic. Her stomach still hurt, and while they had fixed her, no one was willing to stop and tell her just what it had been. For what it was worth, she was fine. However, she still hurt.
I don't know if I'll be able to recover.
She shut her eyes, she knew that they'd be going after the cultists, eventually, but the thought of being unable to attend made her feel even worse. Besides, when the nurse had bothered to speak to her for the briefest moment, Lenah had been told to "take it easy" for a couple of weeks.
I'll show you take it easy.
She shook her head, the nurse hadn't gotten herself in this situation, Lenah had. Partly Seth, from agitating her, but mostly Lenah herself. She fumbled on the desk next to her, looking for her purse and, inside it, her phone. She knew who she'd call, for she had feared that it would end up like this, throwing up blood and then collapsing was seldom a good sign. Examining the phone number, she hesitated, a bit. Calling Solomon meant putting a monster hunter in a school filled with monsters.
I owe it to them.
And he owed her a favour. Time to finally spend it. She selected the number in the list, and put the phone up to her ear, smirking pleasantly to herself as she heard someone pick up.
"Hi, Sol, it's Lenah. I need you to do me a favour."
About 6'3", long and slender, but surprisingly graceful for someone as lanky as him. Rather, but you wouldn't be able to tell too well, as his muscles are made for quick movement and climbing, rather than lifting things. He's got rather green eyes, dark brown hair that seems untameable, and is longer in the back than in the front, though it still frames his eyes. There's a certain spark in his eyes that gleams of mischief and knowledge, as if he knows exactly what you're doing, and it amuses him. Somewhat tanned skin. Often he wears a black hat, western-styled and worn, an souvenir from a life that feels long ago. He also tends to wear a dark brown scarf and a coat with dark pants and boots. Underneath he wears simple-long sleeved sweaters, and the occasional silk shirt if its a special occasion. He wears gloves, most of all because he's not the kind of person who should leave finger-prints around, because he's definitely not doing something legal. Around his neck there's an amulet, an Italian horn amulet that shields him from the eyes of evil. This means that his presence can't be detected by supernatural means, especially not those of demons or monsters.
Sol has the sort of smile that draws one in, and he's pleasant and charming. He's also, however, rather selfish. An opportunist, he knows when to strike and when not to, and is rather bold. Some might call him a liar, but he seldom lies, there's just some things you shouldn't tell others. He finds humour and interests in the oddest things, and likes to drink when he's not working. Sometimes when he's working, but it's more the liberty of doing it than the alcohol itself that he likes. Thinking of appearances and wealth as something worth risking his life for, he often appears shallow, but there's more underneath the surface. He's a softie and has always been, those less fortunate has always been able to get his attention and empathy, and he couldn't pass a beggar without having to resist the temptation of tossing most of the contents of his pockets to them. He's protective and fond of those he sees as his friends, and he'll remember a favour or a promise. The best way to describe him might be an honourable rogue that's very fond of taking liberties. And things. He also likes taking things.
Powers:
Evading the Eyes of Evil
No "evil" (non-humans) can sense Sol by supernatural means when he wears the amulet. This includes scrying and even looking into the future. It also has an old magic connected to it, every once in a while, no one can see or hear him, though only for about five minutes, and it needs to recharge either through sunlight or for someone capable of wielding magic to charge it.
Dangerous, Dastardly Dagger
Just what is inside the dagger is according to his master, a "family recipe", and Sol learned quickly not to ask. However, it stuns most supernatural creatures, and, in many cases, hinders their ability to regenerate. To some, it burns, though that might just be the holy water. He also has an old revolver, but it's not as fun as the dagger.
Silver Shots and Stakes
Sol has equipment for dealing with monsters that he keeps in a small black suitcase. While he can equip himself for the specific monster, he does carry some general items. Not enough to one-hit kill most monsters, but certainly enough to give him an extra edge. Of course, getting new stuff is expensive, so it better be an emergency before he uses something in that suitcase. The only thing he does use rather freely is holy water, as he can create that himself if given enough time.
Shielding Scribbled Spells
One could say that the spells are just weird symbols on a paper, and they would be fairly correct. Sol cannot actually do anything magical, and so he has to throw the paper on the floor, or place it on the monster, which is why he has taken to using star-shaped post-it notes, as they stick much easier.
Skills:
Silent, Sneaky and Stealthy Steps
Solomon can be quiet when he needs to, and he often needs to. He knows where to step to make the least sounds, and he's gotten rid of the bad habit of speaking out loud when something happens to him... well, most of the time.
Climbing Champion
Be it a house, a tree, or, for whatever reason, a mountain wall, Sol knows how to climb. He can jump from rooftop to rooftop, and he's got a great balance. Of course, this was skills he possessed before becoming a hunter.
Master of Misdirection and Magic
While magic might not be the right word for what he does, as it is still very much impressive. Sol is capable of moving his hands and especially fingers quickly and accurately, he can hide a coin behind your ear or break into your house with the same ease as most people tap their fingers on the table. He also knows how to make people look another way, both aiding him in getting past unseen, or, should that have failed, simply distract them long enough for him to be able to silence them. He also have somewhat of a silver tongue.
Monster Manual and Mastery
Sol has a book given to him by the huntress with pictures and notes that he wrote off from her book a couple of years ago. In it is information regarding the different monsters she, and, after a while, he has encountered. How to deal with them, what their habits are, and whatever they could gather on their societies. It's not exactly full. He's also got an innate knowledge about monsters, to the point where he can recognize quite a lot of them, and knows how to treat them in a non-combat situation.
Biography:
If Sol was to tell you how he ended up a monster hunter and exorcist, he would give you a short summary. Mother was dead, father was a barber turned into a drunkard, he had an older brother, the older brother joined a gang of criminals. Then, he joined alongside, and eventually he decided that he was too good for them, and decided to go commit crime on his own. Then one thing lead to another, and that was that. However, one cannot always gloss over the past, and if one were to ask for more details, it would be revealed that they were poor, rather worrisomely so, and when they found out that his mother had cancer, the father could not pay for the treatment. Too poor to take up any loans, and too proud to ask for help, his father did nothing but watch as she wasted away. When she died, Sol was already 14, and his brother was 17. His father only became a drunkard after that, neglecting his sons, wanting nothing but to sit in his own misery and despair.
So, Sol followed his brother, and joined a small gang of other teens who were either homeless, or came from the same kind of homes. In order to do this, he dropped out of school, which suited him just fine, it never had interested him much either way. However, he spent a couple of years with that gang, and found that he didn't feel like he fit in. Solomon, despite his lack of a criminal record before this point, had more ambition that all of those guys combined, and felt frustrated being forced to pickpocket people who carried around more cards than cash. When he was 16, he left, deciding that he was destined for more. Of course, that more ended up being arguably just as petty as his former theft, only from more suitable and richer targets.
Sol tried to make a living out of breaking into mansions and taking the first things he could see of worth. Of course, it took learning to recognize what could be sold to a fence, and what would be too fancy for him to sell it to someone else. Occasionally he grabbed one of those items either way in order to keep it in his apartment. It took moving around, and it took getting to know others, fences, swindlers, people he would never have thought he would have known when he was a child. Of course, one day it had to turn sour. It happened when he was 21. It was a particularly rich target that he had picked out a couple of weeks after getting to the new area. The owned was gone quite a lot, and there were no servants or housekeepers there. Upon asking around, he found out that no one ever went for the house, but the only reason he got out of them was that the old man was "creepy". That was a bit of an understatement.
At first, things went well enough for Solomon. He disabled the security system, picked the lock and was watchful of any other security measurements. The old man wasn't just loaded, there were items in there fit for a museum, old and dusty, and definitely valuable. He figured that he would be able to take this, then get to another state, before selling it to a fence. Of course, he figured that the old man was out, and spent some time exploring, grabbing some items he found interesting, like a dagger and a black cowboy hat that smelled like it might actually be from the wild west. It wasn't until he got to the basement that he noticed that something was off. To say the least. The cellar was dark, but he could smell mould and blood. Against his better judgement, he walked further in, only to find a container, clearly containing something valuable, something big. On the left side, there was a button, and he pressed it. It opened, and water ran out, only for the container to reveal the most disturbing thing he had ever seen.
It was the old man, yet it was clearly not some old man. Green veins, a pale, almost grey colour, and a mouth with teeth sticking out, it looked like the man was some sort of... sea creature. A slug, perhaps. Then the eyes opened, pitch black eyes with bits of white and red in them. Sol knew he couldn't just run, whatever this was... it was evil. He stabbed the thing with the dagger, panicking, hoping for the running green liquid to stop and for the slug to die. Instead it smiled. Within seconds, he was running away, gripping the dagger, but slipping in the water and falling on his butt, leaving him open. Holding the dagger up, he closed his eyes, frightened...
And when he opened them again, a woman stood over him with a long sword, as she stabbed the creature. There was something in the blade that glittered and shone, and the slug was dead. Of course, that wasn't the end of it. Solomon was numb when he heard her explain who, and more importantly, what she was. A monster hunter. She explained that she had only been there by chance, and that he was lucky, but that she'd teach him to protect himself. While she had no respect for thieves, she did have some for anyone trying to face a creature like that. However, it had put him in a bad situation. They were watching, she had told him, the other slug creatures. He was given the opportunity to learn, or going back to the pitiful lifestyle he had lead before. Of course, he would have to leave the country either way, because someone, or rather, something, out there knew what he looked like, and if they could identify him those monsters would likely try to murder him.
Unsure of what to do, he went back to his hometown, knowing that he might never meet his father or brother again, not unless he got strong enough to protect himself. At least -he had tried to reassure himself with- they were going to be more pathetic than him. But they weren't. His brother had joined the police-force and had a fiance, while his father had been without alcohol for 3 years and was in a relationship with a very nice lady with children. They had moved on, yet Sol was the same criminal he had been 7 years ago. He suddenly had no doubts.
Sol joined the huntress, and got the weapon of his choice, the dagger, infused with a blend of metals and oils designed and blessed to work against evil, as well as learning her techniques. He was also gifted an amulet to keep those slugs from pursuing him. 5 years under her, and he's quite the promising hunter, doing work for the highest bidder. While the idea of monsters was quite frightening to him at first, he's learned that they can be humane should they want to... and that humans can be quite the monsters themselves.
"Hi, Sol, it's Lenah. I need you to do me a favour."
Sol raised an eyebrow as he heard her voice. It had certainly been a while since he had spoken to Lenah, and though her tone was pleasant, he knew the girl's impish nature beneath the innocent little girl. He had experienced it, hanging from his legs, a palm having grown around them. The landing had been... unpleasant.
"Hi, you've reached--"
"I know it's you, silly."
"Right, I had to make sure. You do know I have the slug mafia on my heels, right?" he chuckled at the joke, as he finished a cup of coffee. It wasn't completely untrue, though mafia was probably a bad words. And they weren't really slugs either, more like leeches. "Anyways, what do you need help with?"
"I need you to come to Japan and take my place in one of the groups that's going to hunt down some cultists. It's a bit complicated, but that's fine, right?" He could hear the cheerful smile in his ear.
"Depends, you know I work for money, right?" Besides, did he really want to go to a monster school to deal with their issues? Wasn't that like walking into a den of lions? Well, a den of mostly baby lions, but still.
"You also owe me, remember the---" Sol sighed, though he grinned at the somewhat embarrassing memory.
"Yes, yes I do. But after this we're even, okay?"
"Of course." Lenah chuckled, and Sol wondered if she was chuckling at him, or just because she was in a good mood. She sounded like something was wrong, part of what she said was forced, almost as if she was in pain. However, he decided to trust her, whatever it was, she'd tell him if she wanted to, and he was sure it wasn't a trap.
"I'll be there as quickly as possible," he told her.
"Thanks, see you then," Lenah replied, and hung up, not waiting for him to speak. When she had, Sol put the phone down, rubbing his cheek, how was he supposed to find a flight to Japan at 2 A.M.?
I'll figure that out. After this drink, of course.
Finishing his drink, he grabbed his hat, and started heading towards the nearest airport.
"Yeah..the guys thought I was hitting on one of their girlfriends or...s-something..I was just talking to her was all..."
Giving a small bow to Juliet as she left, he turned his attention back to Will. ?Of course they did.? He said, shaking his head. ?Pups like that think the only way to show power is to lord it over those they think are weaker, but in the end they are always someone?s *****. Truth is, at least subconsciously, they were afraid of you. You go up to ?their? girl being the fundamentally good guy you seem to be and if you spend too much time talking to the girls, they might realize what colossal pricks their guys are, and dump their asses.?
After a moment, Viktor shook his head and laughed. ?Despite the fact that so many non-humans think they are better than humans?they still seem to share a lot of the same problems.? Changing the subject, he oriented himself towards the cafeteria. ?Well I?ve spent far too long in the company of a demon who I make no apologies about despising, so I could use meal?care to join me??
Sierra pondered Mirabelle's request for a moment or two. "I don't see why it wouldn't work, but I don't know enough about the Alchemy that makes you, you, to just start casting enchant after enchant on you. Not sure what'll happen if I just go in willy nilly. Gimme a little bit to consult some one who might know and we'll go from there." Sierra replied after a few moments. She was a little surprised Seth had been the one to give her the idea, but the simplest solutions are often the easiest to over look.
Jarrah was surprised that Seth had decided to have a joint meeting with both him and Juliet, but as the trio shuffled into the room Jarrah elected to believe it was part of some unknowable plan by their handler, rather than just him being lazy.
"So who wants to share first?"
"I guess I will," Juliet answered rather cheerily, which Jarrah had no objections with. Patiently, he waited in silence for Juliet to finish, aside from a curt chuckle to himself when she mentioned her need to 'recharge'.
When she finished, Jarrah cleared his throat and began his own explanation.
"Well you obviously saw the weird, holographic card things you had. I'm big and strong, especially when I'm not disguised like this," Jarrah started, waving a hand over himself as he mentioned his disguise, "But I've learned most of my 'moves' from watching action movies and stuff. So if there's anywhere I need to improve I would say it's there."
"I don't see why it wouldn't work, but I don't know enough about the Alchemy that makes you, you, to just start casting enchant after enchant on you. Not sure what'll happen if I just go in willy nilly. Gimme a little bit to consult some one who might know and we'll go from there."
"Uh...ok.", Mira said, not fully understanding why they needed to bring another person into this so quickly. She thought the first step would have been to ask her if she had known a few of the alchemical recipes or their properties that had been applied to her and then work from there. Of course, this was all based on the idea that Sierra had any idea on how to combine alchemy and enchantments...not that she could blame Sierra if she didn't, Mira had just always assumed that she could.
That just left the question of who she was contacting...or what, as the case may be. She hoped that Sierra didn't tell this being too much about her, hopefully just the basics...then again, she didn't want to explode either, so maybe just not too much information.
"Uh, so...who are you contacting?" Mira asked as she brought another solution if liquid to boil.
William listen to Viktor's words. Wondering how true they were comparing to those guys who tried to beat him up. Nodding his head as Viktor ask him to join him in a meal. "Sure, though..i'm not very hungry myself. I already ate not to long ago.." he said as he blush, remembering back to the few hours ago with Juliet.
Following him to the cafeteria as he look around. "I hardly knew how truly huge this place was...it always look so small from my room." he said as he drifted off to memories of looking out outside. Wishing he could be with everyone else and not be afraid of people. Though now it seem that is slowly changing.
"Huh" Seth said pulling out his phone and 'doing something' on it. "Cancel Jackie Chan marathon .... hire actual combat instructors..." he said and put the phone away after a few moments. "In all seriousness though, noted." Seth said as some one, a Gungnir intern, knocked and Seth waved her in. the girl gave him a folder, and left about as quick as she arrived. "That seems to be the popular trend, 'I need to learn how to fight'." Seth said as he started going over the contents of the folder "Have ether of you given thought to a preferred weapon or fighting style before? If I'm gonna have you learn something, I'd rather it'd be something you actually want to learn."
Sierra
"I'm gonna ask my enchantment instructor. I figure he'd know since he's teaching the advanced classes for both Enchantments and Alchemy." Sierra replied as she watched Mirabelle conduct her experiments, which she assumed was the recreation of the Flexisteel stuff.
"I hardly knew how truly huge this place was...it always look so small from my room."
Viktor looked down at William as they entered the cafeteria. ?You need to get out more my boy.? He said with chuckling quietly. While Will went off to find a place to sit, Vik inserted himself into the food line. I?ve got to admit, this is pretty good. He thought as he moved along. Somehow the people working the cafeteria counter seemed to be able to accommodate anyone?s dietary needs, be they a dryad, lycan or anything else.
Several minutes later, he appeared at the spot Will had found, carrying a tray with a blue rare steak, a burger, and two bottles labelled AB- and O+. Dropping into a free seat, he cut a chunk off the steak and ate it with a satisfied sigh. ?Ohhh that?s tasty??
"Have ether of you given thought to a preferred weapon or fighting style before? If I'm gonna have you learn something, I'd rather it'd be something you actually want to learn."
"Well in my snake form I can't exactly use weapons," she said "so something unarmed would be best, a martial art of some sort perhaps?"
She shrugged, whatever Seth came up with would be fine no doubt, she wouldn't mind training with a couple weapons though. Guns would be interesting but it might be hard to get one in Japan. I could probably manage it, but it probably wouldn't be worth the effort. She wasn't overly familiar with martial arts either, obviously she knew about the most common ones, karate, kung fu, judo and so on, but not much past the names in most cases.
"I'm gonna ask my enchantment instructor. I figure he'd know since he's teaching the advanced classes for both Enchantments and Alchemy."
"Oh, Okay then. Tell him I said hi, please." Mirabelle said, the hint of recognition creeping into her voice. Her Basic alchemy instructor had already introduced her to him, and the three of them had already talked about her goals and her golemeac nature, so she didn't feel any fear about Sierra talking with him. Still, she hadn't known that he was the Enchantment teacher as well...but she supposed it made sense. It's not like there were any other alchemy teachers on campus and there were only around two to three (and the third one was streching it) courses in Alchemy, which would leave enough time on their hands to do teach something else too.
"Um, also, when you see him, tell him i haven't stopped looking for an Alchemical solution to the problem. I figure he wouldn't want me giving up on a solution like that anymore than he would like you giving up on an Enchanting solution to a problem of yours (within reason, of course)."
With that said, Mirabelle turned back to her experiment and started dipping a spoon into the first solution. She didn't know why she didn't think of a two solution method before but now that she had, she had a good feeling that it would work out better than her attempts last night. Taking the spoon out, she dried it off and dipped it into the second solution, only keeping it in for a few moments before she pulled it out and dried it off again. Inquisitively, she poked and proded at it, checking to make sure that it bended like the pot, before lightly smacking it down on the counter, it holding rigid for a moment before giving in and bending.
"Well, i'm close...i think. I just need to adjust how long i keep it in the solution...and figure out how much damage it can take without buckling or bending."
"Have either of you given thought to a preferred weapon or fighting style before? If I'm gonna have you learn something, I'd rather it'd be something you actually want to learn."
Jarrah raised an eyebrow at Juliet's mention of a 'snake form' but otherwise remained silent as she spoke.
"Well, like Juliet said, unarmed would probably be the way to go, especially something that worked with my strength I guess."
"Oh yeah ... Your in his alchemy class aren't you." Sierra said "Well that should simplify things then since he already knows you." she added as Mirabelle turn back to her experiment, Sierra simply giving a 'will do' and checked the clock. The teacher in question was mid class right now, and would be in class for a little while, so Sierra decided to stay and lay on the couch for now and let her mind just go blank for a bit as she is ought to do after staring at equations and complex aetheral formula for hours on end.

"I can think of a few styles that would work to devastating effect for you my boy." Seth said to Jarrah. "I think I know some one who would be perfect for you, training wise, my dear." Seth said to Juliet as he closed the folder he'd been reading. "I'm gonna need to cut this off here though, something's come up I need to see to." He said, holding the folder as it was the reason. "For now, get ready for the move, other wise your time is yours till the next meeting." Seth said, then gave them both a tip of the hat and exited the room.
Seth headed straight for the admin office, and found other handlers there, already discussing the folder they'd been given. The contents of the folder was a more accurate victim count for the terrorist attacks on 'monster kind', which included normal humans who where privy to the existence of monster and demon kind. specifically, humans who where 'close' to the non human community in one way or another. Seth hung near the back for a little bit then left as quietly as he came. He'd heard all he needed to after all. After leaving the Gungnir building, Seth made his way to the girls dorm to speak to Sierra.
Sierra opening the door to Seth did nothing for her mood. "What." She said flatly. "We need to talk, now." Seth said as he grabbed the arm barring his entry into the room and dragged her into Limbo with him.
"Don't worry, the school grounds are safe, even here." Seth said after the scenery had settled. "So? Didn't that vampire talk you into kicking me out of Gungnir yet." Sierra snapped. "Viktor made the suggestion to remove you, that decision is however, mine alone to make." Seth replied, pulling the folder he'd been reading while speaking to Juliet and Jarrah out and handing it to Sierra. "Read that, then tell me if you really want to be kicked out of the fighting force that will be going after these guys." Sierra gave Seth a sideways look, but complied and glossed over the folders contents. The look on her face gave told Seth he didn't need to explain why her leaving would be a bad idea. "This doesn't change the fact that your involved with Gungnir, and with what little I know of you, that does not lend it self to trust. For you or the group."
"Well, my involvement was originally just to be a financial backer. But they lacked the man power to field and train the number of teams they wanted so, here I am. Make no mistake though, Gaius is not ignorant of my ... reputation ... and would rather I be in a more hands off role, but that is not an option at this point, but soon as it is I've no doubts I'll be asked to step down."
"Still doesn't explain why you don't simply transfer me to a team where there won't be this conflict, I mean you have Viktor after all, and he's got that air of an 'experienced solider'." Sierra said closing the folder. "What I am about to tell you, you are to keep to your self." Seth waited for Sierra to comply before continuing. "Viktor isn't going to be a permanent member of Gungnir, let alone our team." Seth held up a hand to stop Sierra from interruption, and continued on to tell Sierra about Viktor's real mission and standing with in his clan.
There was a bit of silence before Seth spoke up. "This isn't like me using you to screw with the Four Great Demon Lords, I don't expect you to give two shits about the Demon realm, let alone fight anyone there. But this is Earth, and these enemy's are your enemy's, to you, and yours." Sierra sighed, and thought deeply on this for a few moments. "Fine, I'll stay."
"Excellent!, and as a show, of gratitude, a gift." Seth said, as he pulled a stone from his jacket pocket and tossed it to Sierra. The stone upon her catching deposited a Claymore in her hand. "The fighting style your using is meant for two handed and great-swords. So it's high time you had the right weapon for the style your using." "Anything else?" Sierra asked, to which Seth replied no and took them back to the normal world.
After Seth departed, he went to go finalize his team's training needs and start that dull process. Sierra simply closed the door, leaned the sword against the couch and lay back down.
---- 2 days later ----
With the dorm for the Lances now finished and most the Lances ether moved in or in the final stages of moving in, the handlers went to their Lances for the next meeting.
