I'm straight and i'm all for gay rights. ie:
Gay people pay tax.
Straight people pay the same amount of tax.
So why is it that straight people are the only ones allowed to make each other miserable by getting married?

Though I do have an issue with gay guys who act like women/bitches. You're a man! Act like one!
I work with a lot of gay guys and none of them act like women. They all act like the men that they are. In my view, if you act like something you're not, you're being detrimental to your cause.

Very, very likely bi, as it turns out. I'm not 100% positive about it, but I think I'm bi.

And I don't really have much room to discriminate - I have Asperger syndrome, and I have been very heavily scorned myself.

As a general rule I have found that since I am a hetrosexual, white male from the west that I am very restricted in what kind of opinion I can express without being branded as racist/sexist/homophobic etc. (even if the opinions I express contain no actual prejudice or discrimination).

I have no problem with gays and lesbians, if two people love each other (of any sex or orientation) then I don't see why they can't be together (unless there's something else seriously wrong about it like one is 30 and the other is 9 and other such instances).

What a couple (of any gender) chooses to do together in the privacy of their own home is no-one else's concern, if they are happy together then let them be.

What I do have a problem with is Gay Pride. If you were wondering why some of the stereotypes surrounding gays continue to exist then I think we've found your answer right here.

It strikes me as being somewhat hypocritical to expect to go onto the streets looking like an S&M sex parade and then expecting people not to judge you badly for it (just type 'gay pride' into Google images and behold, everything you'll see is incredably...gay).

Imagine if someone who had never even heard of the word gay was just dropped into the middle of all this (so this would be their first experience of homosexual people), what do you think their reaction would be? My theory is that they would be confused, frightened (perhaps) and extremely uncomfortable.

I only get annoyed by minorities when they seem to seek validation all the time..2 trans-sexual/gender threads and now this.

Maybe I should start a thread..

I'm a raging Hetro.. am I allowed to be proud?
To be honest I'm look for people who have strong belief, for or against, so I can understand why there is such conflict over homosexuality
alright, I'll put a few points out arguing against, even thhough I don't care
-bible says no
-first people to have aids
-bible says no to anal as well
( I am not a homophobe or a redneck bigot just puttin some points that I don't believe in to help conversation)

I have a gay roommate and he's making me coffee as we speak. I'm a-ok with the gays. In fact I wouldn't want to live in a world without em.

I dont care if people are homosexual or bisexual, but I dont really feel comfortable watching two of the same sex kissing.

I'm fine with people being it, but I dont like seeing it is how I feel on the matter basically.

POSTED BEFORE:

People can find it disgusting that gays can express public displays of affection just as much as gays can do it. I think this because not many people will be that upset by gay pdas vs the happiness/freedom it allows gays.

I do not see ill in comparing gays to necrophiles/paedophiles etc, all he's saying is you're creating a group out of thin air with an arbitrary line to specify "rights" for.

I would like to say I'd fight for my views, however I'm lazy. I would never fight for gay marriage rights however. Marriage is some religious principle conjured up out of nowhere between a MAN and a WOMAN. (I don't actually know if this is right ... :p). That's just how it is in religion(s). I don't see the problem with having a big party with confetti and bells and people vowing to love one another forever, but I don't see why calling it a marriage is a big deal when a marriage has a definition and is what it is. I wouldn't join a protest for people's rights to get married to dead people or people's rights to get married to a concept either. The whole thing seems pants on head retarded to me ^^.

A guess as to why people "hate a person for finding someone they love" would be because they are different and we're naturally afraid of what's different it would seem. *shrug*

"I'm fairly certain the laws against homosexuality were put in place simply because gay couples cannot conceive, and if they do not produce children they are limiting the growth of their society (and their life expectancies were typically well under 50 years). Thus, being gay is bad "because God said so"."

OH MY GOD! I have ALWAYS been suspicious of this! I know you havn't confirmed anything but it's cool to hear these thoughts from someone else :)

NOT POSTED BEFORE POSSIBLY:

BEING a necrophile, pedophile, zoopheliac, into beastiality is fine imo. Actually fucking a kid or animal however I think is wrong and should be banned, I've always had a wierd view on necrophelia though. It's pretty standard and accepted for vibrators to be okay in society, and I don't see a huge difference between that and fucking a dead person IN REGARDS TO whether or not people should be allowed to do it, other than it would be seen as disrespectful. My opinion is that even though it disgusts me (and for what it's worth vibrator's do not), no damage is actually being done to anything, there's just a guy or girl with a fringe fetish entertaining him or herself.

My way of seeing things is basically based on Utilitarianism (I think).

I just realised with my wierd views on necrophelia I'm probably going to derail the thread. I knew I was going to get trolls/haters but I'm sorry op :( I'm also sorry I don't have any wierd hate/negative views towards gays or bis or anything, I guess we're all too clever for that shit nowadays?

Another possibly derailing idea:
If a gay person were to hit on me I would feel complimented, even though I'm being attractive to the gender for whom I have no intention of being attractive for.

Also I really dislike people talking about "rights", probably because it means so little to me, yet people think they have the right to do anything at all as long as it doesn't sound stupid. All I see that makes sense is people can be happy and sad. Freedom can make people happy, but some people saying they have the right to do (insert random thing they'd LIKE to be able to do here) and it sounds awesome because you used the word "right", you amazing humanitarian you. This view, I expect, will land me in the ****.

Thanks for making the thread op, and I'm not trying to be abusive or aggressive, just adding some thoughts. <3

Lol.

Wasn't sure how else to answer that. >_>

And as I said, I've been scorned heavily by my peers. To the point where this never seriously occurred to me until a couple of months ago. It was quite mindblowing, to say the least.

Alright, my edit's invisible. Lovely...

One of my favourite characters in fiction is Optimus Prime, famous within our fandom for his creed:

"Freedom is the right of all sentient beings"

That is how I feel on the subject.

I don't understand how anyone can be prejudice against gay people, You can't control who you fall in love with and it doesn't hurt anyone. So in short, homosexual love is just as brilliant as heterosexual love in my book and should be celebrated just as much.

Every reason against[/] homosexuality basically boils down to "gays are icky".

Every last one.

I'm Hetrosexual and completely neutral to others sexuality. Don't parade it in public (Just because your sexuality is different doesn't mean I want to see you making out in public. Heck, I speak up when Hetero couples are rude like that.) and I'll let you live your lives.

I won't actively lobby for them but I will stand up for gay rights because I believe everyone has a right to be who they want to be.
I completely agree with you and i'm in the same favour as well.
I'm fine with it but don't show it. (in public)

You could have said yes...*sobs uncontrollably*

I see your edit. Sucks. Why were you scorned? I may have missed a post, but I'm a little in the dark.

Which is usually my state, so no big deal.
