I don't know why people think that this 'whatever they do behind closed doors' attitude toward any sexuality is healthy, accepting, or anything good.

OT: Most of my friends are gay, and no I don't mind if they express their sexuality near me, or have gay bumper-stickers on their cars or what have you because I'm not a f*cking puritan.

Pretty sure I'm straight. I'm also for gays/lesbians/whatever. Live and let live, y'know? I never saw why I should care what other peoples' sexual preferences were, or what right I had to judge.

Edit: Just to calrify, I don't care if it's "behind closed doors" or out in the open. If two gay guys are making out right in front of me, I will however tell them to get a room, just as I would to a straight couple.

I wish someone would state themselves homophobic and see how much of a hypocrite everyone here is :)

I'm all for gay/lesbian rights but I draw the line on being hit on by a gay dude, it happens, and I'm not interested

It really annoys me when people go "AS LONG AS THEY DON'T FLAUNT IT IN FRONT OF ME", and think that's totally OK. Whenever a straight couple kiss in a film or something, no one bats an eye, but when it's same-sex, they're flaunting it and 'pushing it in your face'.

Please tell me some people understand why this attitude is wrong.

I said (basically) the exact same thing like 3-4 posts ago. ACCEPTANCE FTW.

I only get annoyed by minorities when they seem to seek validation all the time..2 trans-sexual/gender threads and now this.

Maybe I should start a thread..

I'm a raging Hetro.. am I allowed to be proud?
You answered the question yourself. You're not in the minority and you're not still fighting for equal rights.

OT: People can shag, marry and go out with whatever gender they like.

No "buts", no "whatever you want behind closed doors".

Lol.

Wasn't sure how else to answer that. >_>

And as I said, I've been scorned heavily by my peers. To the point where this never seriously occurred to me until a couple of months ago. It was quite mindblowing, to say the least.

Alright, my edit's invisible. Lovely...
You could have said yes...*sobs uncontrollably*

I see your edit. Sucks. Why were you scorned? I may have missed a post, but I'm a little in the dark.

Which is usually my state, so no big deal.
Meek little kid on the spectrum, youngest in his year level (everyone else was older by at least one year), surrounded mainly by bogans. You can pretty much guess the rest.

"Words will never hurt me" is a complete lie; get really creative, and do it often enough, for long enough (five years in my case) and you can break a person - and I can't exactly retaliate against "just words", can I?

Still, I suppose it doesn't compare to what some other Escapists had to deal with. I mean, look at Furburt; he nearly killed someone because they wouldn't stop.

I am for gay rights. Reason: they are people too. Simple as that. A person has a right to be happy. It is nobody's place to say otherwise. What you do behind closed doors is not my business(unless I am also behind them which happens more often than not).
This, exactly this.

I'm completely against gay marriage because I'm against any form of government-support marriage.

But since rights are obtained via marriage certificates, homosexuals should be able to get married.

I'm 99% heterosexual. That 1% is for Doctor House.

I don't understand this at all. Isn't it flattering either way? And wouldn't a simple "I'm not interested/not gay" suffice? I'd let a gay dude flirt with me if he was buying me a drink, but I'd respect him enough to tell him I'm straight after the third or fourth.

I am disgusted by homosexuals, however I believe in their rights as human beings and if they make the choice to be homosexual, thats fine with me, Im still disgusted by it, but who am I to really care what they do behind closed doors, I dont care but when I do, it disgusts me, but godammit, they have the right of a human being to get married, adopt a kid, etc etc?

Also like many, I kinda dont like it when their all up in my face about

I'm heterosexual and pretty much don't care about the sexual preference of others. As long as no one's in my face about their sexuality, they can have BDSM with corpses for all I care.

I'm a bisexual woman, but I do prefer other women. There are some men I find attractive, but the list is small and unacheivable.
Fortunately I live in Canada, so the only homophobic attacks I've ever heard of is against a very violent and easily upset girl in my school's GSA, and I don't think that's as much about being gay as just bothering her.

I'm disgusted by heterosexuals but I don't judge. It's their choice, as long as they keep it behind closed doors it's fine with me.

The idea of discrimination of any type is offensive. On something as personal, variable, and unscientific as sex is down-right stupid. Simply put, sex, sexuality, and gender often have little to do with one another. It's like telling someone they can't join the army because their toes are too long. WHO FREAKIN' CARES!
