Well if the bought out people can fly then I now expecting more of them.
Eh, I dunno. The quality of the port is pretty abysmal even if the extra content itself is good. It has huge issues with crashing, stuttering which makes the game unplayable, etc. If Gears 2 is ported, I won't trust People Can Fly with it (which is sad, because they did Painkiller, both a well-performing and graphically impressive game for its time).

Maybe they just can't handle third person movement.
I assume they were just rather rushed to get it out, didn't test it extensively, or weren't familiar enough with the engine to get it running smoothly on the PC.

I didn't enjoy the first anyway. But it would be nice for the Sony users to get into the hype like the first. Chainsaw guns are kinda cool.

well you would have to get used to the new control scheem such as R1 being shoot and x being cover or something like that
Worked just fine for uncharted. Which essentially was Gears of War with added Indiana jones.

Gears 2 won't exist when R2 comes out, as far as PS3 owners are concerned, admit it.
For all we care, does it exist now?
No, not at all, I'd rather have Fable on PS3 but that's just me.

It played completely differenly, man. They just had pop and stop gameplay, but even that was different in Uncharted in that it wasn't even neccesary.

Myeh. On hard mode Uncharactet felt like a less 'chunky' (not in a bad way) Gears of War.

Edit: To people saying "Do we ps3 owners care about GOW2"

They care enough to make threads about it apparently.

Double Edit: I'm loving all the Resistance 2 comparisons.

"Don't worry chums! We don't need a generic sci fi shooter with terrible characters! We already have a generic sci fi shooter with absolutely atrocious characters! We're in the clear.

It's kind of like saying you don't need cancer because you already have HIV. Way to go guys.

Ok, lets get one thing straight. The Gears of War IP is owned by Microsoft, the same way the Halo IP is. Neither game is ever going to get released on Sonys black box, lets drop this topic its not going to happen, theres not even the slightest chance it will happen.

Just for clarification, would someone mind explaining to me how the Publisher/Developer issue affected the whole Fear and Project Origin thing?
Well the guys tat made the orginal F.E.A.R got everything but the name, hence why all the "expansion" packs are terrible.

Project Origin is the true sequal to F..E.A.R published by the original creators, the just lost rights to the name.

Meh. Insomniac has put a fair amount of effort into the characters for 2. Seen the Project?
Nope sorry. Resistance 2 gets the same deal as Halo 3. If it's not in the game it doesn't count. Viral marketing, literature, comic books etc do not a good game]/b] make.

Yeah, how does that actually work? Was this just a unique case, or is it possible for a developer to leave with everything but the name in all cases? Just wondering if a similar thing could happen with this game (or, indeed, any licensed IP of a game). I know it sounds like a retarded idea, but I just would like to understand the particulars of this instance.
I'll try and remember. The developer had already been bought by another publisher just as the game was being released, I think its a unique case and other IPs might be settled diffrently.

Right now, it seems to me that the 360 is about as good as it's going to get.

The PS3 is under-achieving because people would rather stick to the tried, tested and familiar paths of the 360 rather than taking a risk and actually using the PS3 to its full potential. I realise some of you are too young / stupid to remember this, but EVERY SINGLE CONSOLE goes through the same pattern. Every single one.

Pick any console, and compare the first generation of games to the last. You will see notable improvements.

Let's take as an example, and I'm already wanting to stab myself in the face for doing it, Tomb Raider. Mechanically speaking, Chronicles (that was the last PSX one I think) is FAR better than the original. In theory, there's no reason they couldn't have started with Chronicles-level quality, but they didn't. Why should they? No sense investing bucketloads into a game that might not pay off. Instead, it's better to use 20% of the system, then 25% in the sequel, then jump to 35% because a competing game came out that used 30%...

The point is it will take time for the PS3 to really start to shine.
At which point the next Gen consoles will have to deal with the PS3 + a decent game library (props to the first person to make SBB with the LBP editor).

On topic, no it's unlikely to happen but I'd play it.

Secondly I'd prefer a 40k space marines FPS done on the PS3 over gears of war.
