This reminds me of the times when you turn on the TV and are watching a movie and you have that 1 person who keeps adjusting the volume to get it to that "perfect" level when in fact all its doing is annoying everyone else because you have a damn volume display on the screen for 15 minutes and the volume keeps going up and down.

The movies were fine at release and they do not need to be changed. The only change I can see as reasonable is to fix clarity, coloring, sound quality, and similar technical modifications due to improving video technology.

Yes because changing the modern version of a movie alters your memories and physically rapes your childhood. Doesn't anyone who cares already buy their bootleg, pre-special effects, still in editing, never touched by human hands version already and declare it as cannon while denying everything else? Why do people care if the reel content has changed. It doesn't change the copy you have at home and unless you buy a new copy it will never affect you. In short: "You're all looneys"

I have the distinct feeling Obi-Wan was just yelling "wooo!" because he was gonna butcher him some sand people! Damn old legs weren't fast enough.
That is a perfect statement. I love it "Damn old legs weren't fast enough" Reminds me of the scene when he tries to climb out of the smuggler holds on the Falcon.

I really hope these are not real. I have the DVD's and the remastered VHS that came out years ago and Lucas already changed the scream in the DVD version so why would he change it again?

One change I personally think is a positive is the deletion of Wacky tobacky Yoda in Episode 1 and replaced him with the digital version. Too bad they can't make Episode 1 into a good movie.

edit:
@Twilight_guy, Thats just it people are crazy. I have VHS, DVD and I'm gonna buy the Bluray version cause I want it in HD!

Yes we can object all we want but he onws the films and will continue to mess with them as much as he wants. Which is apprently alot as hes still "perfecting" his vision.

Is it all the original? No special ANYTHING? If so, I might have to try and get them somehow.
Yup, the original theatrical cuts, plain font green lettering Lucasfilm logo and everything, sadly they were a limited run so you might have to try your luck on eBay.

Then again, I wouldn't blame anyone who's bought the original VHS tapes, or any other edition of the OT if they just downloaded the original cut. >.>;; At least under Belgian copyright law you're free to make (digital) copies of stuff you purchased yourself. (And I've purchased the Original Trilogy three times in my life so far!)

Meh. Actually, the Darth Vader one doesn't seem that out of place, if anything i always thought it was kind of weird that he doesnt say anything during that particular scene.

As for the obi wan one, well it sounds a little silly, but i get why its been done, it's meant to sound like he's using the force to make an intimidating noise, where as before it just sounded like he was blowing on a whistle or something, and why that scared the freakin sand people, with their guns and chanting, i never really understood.

Urgh...ok, i'm gonna be honest. If Lucas had just left it at that one simple uttering of 'no' on vaders part, it would have probably been ok and worked. The second no just sounded...too silly and over the top.

As for the 'krayt dragon' scream: Lucas..get your hearing checked, that scream just sounds stupid and wouldn't scare even the most timid of people.

Any good sources that this is the real shit? Even the Youtube uploader admits he just cut some samples together.

For those who say "just watch the originals" they're only on VHS. It's getting hard to buy VHS players, soon there'll be none and the unfucked versions will cease to be

Wow... Honestly the "No" scene got me more than Obi Wan's scene. Why? Vader was a Bad Ass before Episode 3 came about. Did he seriously not remember how much people hated the infamous "Noooooo" scene?

He seems like a freaking child now.

I would have thought, that with the amount of critical acclaim the Star Wars orginal trilogy received, that Lucas would just leave them alone and rape the franchise in some other manner, perhaps by bringing out Star Wars tampons or a Smurfs crossover movie...

The bastards done it again!!! Still cant believe he put Hayden Christensen or how ever the hell you spell his last name at the end of Epi. VI.
I actually didn't mind that. But this...just...why? There was no reason to change either of these scenes. That 'nooooo' is just so out of place and ruins how dramatic that scene is supposed to be. There is no way people will believe a person could make a call like that either.

It's the original Theatrical Release, not doctored in any way. I had the THX remastered version on VHS years ago (it came out before the "Special Edition" fiasco), and this is definitely more original than that (visuals aren't as pretty, but it's 100% original).

Here's the [a href="http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Two-Disc-Widescreen-Theatrical/dp/B000FQJAIW"]Amazon[/a] page if you're interested. My copy looks a little different (No gold border), but it sounds like the same one.

There's [a href="http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Two-Disc-Widescreen-Theatrical/dp/B000FQJAIW"]This[/a]. Includes the original theatrical release. If you want to see it as it appeared in theaters in 1977, you can. Just bear in mind that it is only available in 4:3 aspect, meaning it will look odd on a widescreen tv.

Next up: George Lucas releasing remastered Star Wars Holiday Special on Bluray. 'When I watched the Special again, it turned out it wasn't so terrible as I thought it was all those years ago. Maybe was drunk at the time?'

Sorry but that "NOOOO!" is spectacularly out of place. Call me crazy but I much prefer Vader just silently hoisting him up and dunking him like a basketball. Admittedly the first quieter "no!" is kind of nice in that Wyatt Earp-type of awesome way, but the big dramatic one just doesn't need to be there in the slightest.

Lucky. I'm stuck with a copy that has Hayden Christensen photo-shopped into the end of Return of the Jedi and every time I see it my heart grows heavy with sadness.
