EA hate is off the charts, captain!

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. Troika ran out of time and money and in the last quarter of the game, it shows, not to mention how many bugs the game shipped with.
Crap. I'm playing it right now and enjoying it thoroughly. I'm about one third in. How bad does it get? D:
Game breaking. Seriously. That game has about as many bugs as New Vegas. I do stuff I am not supposed to without breaking a sweat (like looking outside the environment). :p
I got my mitts on a really advanced fan patch (7.4 or so), so I'm not worried about the glitches.

I'm worried about the "ran out of time and money in the last quarter" bit.
I never really noticed it till the exact end.
Where the entire last level of the game is just combat with a bunch of goons and a really crappy boss fight. Good ending choice though.
So, I would not worry too much. Unless you are someone who gets angered at really crappy boss fights...
I probably shouldn't click spoilers involving games I'm currently playing. It's going to bite me one day.

Anyways, it means I just have to invest in a fighting style at some point, right? A pure diplomacy-and-stealth run isn't viable? Disappointing, but workable.

EA is inadvertently keeping gog.com in business. People get fed up with wasting money on shit new games and go back to playing the old ones.
So instead of "wasting money on shit new games" they go and waste money on equally shitty old ones... Yay.
WORDS OF WAR. CHOOSE YOUR WEAPON, SIR.

Seriously, what? You're trying to tell me that "Sanitarium", "Planescape: Torment", "Raptor: Call of the Shadows", "Rayman 2" and "Roller Coaster Tycoon" are crap?

...OK. Whaaaaaatever you say, man.

No. I don't want to say that. Maybe it's just a little hidden message about the stupid assumption that all modern games are crap in the post I quoted.

Edit: Quotefail.
Ah. Remember, there is no subtlety on the internet.

Legacy of kain series not sure whats happening here seeing as how the main writer now works for naughty dog on the uncharted series.
As I understand it, the series was always supposed to end with Defiance. There's a rumor [http://www.vg247.com/2012/03/20/rumour-crystal-dynamics-working-on-soul-reaver-reboot/] of a reboot, but considering Amy Hennig is gone to Naughty Dog (as you mentioned) and CD is owned by Squeenix now, I don't have high hopes. =\

9) And more! Obviously, I can't think of everything right on the spot. Some of it will come to me once I play that horrid piece of trash again when it's released.
With respect, but such statement is an embarassment to our category.

It would be a shorter list.
I'm really having trouble thinking of one.
Same here. Even my favourite franchises all have duds.

BTW please tell you avatar to stop hypnotizing me. I think I may have just been staring at that thing gyrate for a half hour.
Tachikomas never obey what you tell them to do. Not unless you have some of Mr Batous' special oil.

I really couldn't care less that your category (?) thinks my statements are embarrassing. For the way this game tarnishes the Diablo name in my eyes, that there is a tame expression to use.
Our category = gamers.
I agree (in theory, having not tried D3 myself) with everything you wrote in the original comment I quoted. Yet I don't see why you plan to buy the game. What is it, peer pressure? If you don't like it you don't need it, that's it. All the points you made against D3 are pointless if you buy it.
I'm not even talking about boycotting the game.

Been waiting on it for the better part of the last four years. Maybe it will get better later on, I doubt it, but I owe it to myself to know for sure. If the game sucks as bad as I think it will, it's the last Blizzard game I'm buying.

The simple act of buying the game does not make my criticisms any less valid, either. Yeah, they get my money, but they also get a bunch of nasty words in the same sentence as their name.

Plus, I get to keep ripping on Blizzard without the apologist crowd flocking in with the "you haven't played it" remarks, which is always good.
if you don't like what you played what difference will playing more of it do. doesn't really make sense to me. I've played it so far the only problem i have is its too easy maybe i should have tried a different class

I don't hold much hope that the game gets better later on.

Having one's predictions be vindicated is a powerful feeling, my friend. The search for truth often comes at a cost. 60 bucks in this case, to be precise.
if you say so still doesn't really make sense to risk that much money if you doubt you'll like it. i like it other then being too easy which may be fixed in the full release. i may just make a hardcore just to get a challenge out of the game don't want to get to the end too quickly

captcha: heavens to betsy i wonder what they mean by that

Peace then, but there is something Orwellian in what you say.

As of me, I find it much easier to just say "F**k off Blizzard, you and your Diabloville". Because I too was hoping for a consistent sequel, both in gameplay and art design. Well, to each his own.

Operation Flashpoint
I agree with this more than anything. I played up to the very last bit of the very last mission of Dragon Rising but never finished that. Utter disappointment.

Jedi Academy was more of an expansion if anything.
I actually considered Jedi Academy to be far better than Jedi Knight 2. For one thing, instant lightsaber, I had a very large amount of fun with the combat, and it wasn't the interminable slog JK2 was - it was fun, but horribly slow-paced, definitely so compared to Academy.
