I'm sure people have played it, but Splinter Cell and Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow. They were great but I never hear anyone talk about them.

Incredible Crisis for the PSOne

Oh my lord is this game fun. A small japanese game released for a short time in 2000.
Bought my copy off of eBay. Good luck finding one if you try.
That is great game, but remeber that people don´t like QTE anymore.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath.
It's awesome, go pick it up now if you have the classic Xbox.
No man, I played that game and it was so poor, should not have been an Oddworld game.
I would say Tombi 1 and 2 for the PS1 were way too little known considering the quality.
Tombi 1 and 2 were awesome games. I got a demo from my Playstation magazine when I was about seven and loved every second of it. Unfortunately I couldn't find the full game in any shop after that. I also liked the Oddworld games up to Munch's Odysee. But tbh my most favourite games ever that I doubt many people have played are the Legacy of Kain series. Soul Reaver and Soul Reaver 2 in particular.
I am right with you there dude.
I played the first one round my mates house and loved it, never owned a copy though. The concept of playing as a vampire just really captivated me.

Shadow of the Colossus. I can't really explain what made me buy it, but I passed the display case at Target, and felt drawn to it.

Rez, very trippy and fun.
Next time I borrow my bro's XBox-360, I aught to get download the version they made for that. Whenever I tried to get the PS2 copy, I ended up either coming up empty or finding a version that somebody ran through a disc cleaner (it makes the discs too thick for my PS2 to run).

Most of the good ones have already been mentioned. Hmm, what's some more?

(PS2) Odin's Sphere, Radiata Stories, Ring of Red
(DS) Electroplankton, Rune Factory (I hear the second one is out now, I should give it a spin)
(PC) Lots of neat titles, mostly indy, like the Spiderweb Software RPGs, Starscape [http://www.moonpod.com/English/about_ss.php], World of Goo, ect.

They might get a lot of press notice, but I bet their sales are dwarfed by the next game from [insert well-known game company here].

How the hell are people mentioning Psychonauts, Okami, and Shadow of the Colossus?

Weren't those games wildly popular? People here mention them all the freakin' time!

Apparently, they sold rather poorly despite being mentioned a lot.

ICO, there's another.

Deus Ex

Ok I know a lot of people have actually played this, but it makes me sad that so many more have not and are playing total shit games. It's FREE on gametap, there's no excuse not to have played it by now.

Shadow of the Colossus is my all-time favourite game. That said, Starseige was an amazing game that you should look up at once, best gameplay, plot and experience of any PC game I've ever played. I love Mech games though, so I may be the only one thinking this...

No, you misunderstood. Halo 3 is an average game played by too many people. We're looking for great games not given the credit they are due.

Eternal Darkness is probably number one on my list, next to XIII because neither of those games sold well for as good as they are(and I want to know how XIII ends damn it!)

I didn't expect that response. Also, I have played it as well, so you're not alone. Though I stopped at the Tremere base of operations, as it got just a bit too difficult a game to play, and coming from me, that's quite the statement. Good game, though. Great story.
I know what you mean. Having your main character 1-shotted as soon as you enter the a room was brutal. The irony is, while the game is fairly difficult and somewhat unforgiving there are several game-breaking Discipines easily available (Theft of Vitae, Chains of Ice, Rain of Fire) that pretty much break the game, making it a walk in the park...

I'd like to add "Independance War" and the "X" series.

What does Masquerade play like anyways? I've always been tempted to try it but am worried it wont be my kind of game for some reason :S
If I absolutely HAD to give you a comparison as for play style, it would be like Neverwinter Nights, though that is only if you just NEED something to compare it to. It is quite different than NWN for the most part, but that's the closest thing I can think of to compare it to without straining too hard.

As for my underplayed game, I'd pitch Red Dead Revolver in the mix. That was Rockstar, back when playability was still important and graphics were allowed to just be bad. Pretty good storyline, fun gameplay, and a variety of characters that all felt believable and playable. Unfortunately my uncle borrowed it and apparently washed it with a wire brush, because I've never been able to play it again since.
