Defining what is and isn't an RPG is hugely subjective. In OoT, you increased your health, mana, attack power and abilities all throughout the game, which played out like an interactive storybook. I argue that this gives OoT a much larger connection to the rpg world than games like Mass Effect. The same can be said about STALKER.

Also Diablo II. There's no contest. none. NO ONE CAN ARGUE AGAINST THIS.

For me its Gothic 2 and Baldurs Gate 2,I could never get myself to enjoy morrowind even if i tried really hard.

You know, I came in here pretty sure I would be the only one who would mention Gothic 2, my favorite game of all time. I can say I'm pleasantly surprised.

Runner-ups: Gothic 1, obviously; Phantasy Star 3 (my very first RPG) and 4 (never finished the first two games); Fallout 1, 2 and I guess 3; Vampire Bloodlines; Deus-Ex.

RPGs I liked but never finished: Planescape Torment; Chrono Trigger.

It's an Action/Adventure/Puzzle game.

I love RPG's, and these would be my top 3:

1. Dragon Age: Origins
2. Fable: The Lost Chapters

Really? I thought Oblivion was better in every respect (well, smaller world size I guess). Why do you think that Morrowind is so good? I've been trying to play it again but just can't get into it.

OT: For me, it's going to have to be between Fallout 2 and Oblivion.

Hmm, tough one because there are a ton of RPGs that could claim that title for me personally, depending on my mood. It would be a tossup between FFVII, FFIX, Dragon Quest VIII, Persona 4, Rogue Galaxy, and a few others if we are counting action RPGs too. If forced to pick right now I'll go with Persona 4. For now.

So my choices are: Pokemon Gold/Silver, Valkyria Chronicles and Skies of Arcadia: Legends. They were awesome.
