I'd have to go with the half-life 2 gravity gun. A tad bulky and hard to sleep on, to be sure, but there are so great many ways you could use it to get your stuff back.

Got a Walther P38 next to my bed(don't think I will ever have a gun under my pillow), but I'm going to replace it with a CZ-97B in the coming months.
...that's quite the upsize there. Any reason you're going with the CZ-75's big brother instead of a more traditional .45?
I ask because this [http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n182/loc978/Photos/IMAGE_00236.jpg] is my least favorite of all the guns in my collection. Still, I like it better than the 92Fs that I used on active duty...
As for the size difference I've never had an issue with .45s. Living in CA my options are limited and the features I would like make my options even more so. I like the 97B clip size, ergos, thumb safety, weight, and sights(the one I'll be picking up has night sights). The most common semiautos in the stores I go to are Berettas, Sigs, Glocks, XDs, and 1911s all good guns but either don't have the features I want, don't like the ergos, or simply too expensive.

Edit: If you know any metal frame .45s aside from the 1911 I am always open to suggestions. I don't know every gun on the market but I do try to take my time and research potential buys if you know any I missed I am willing to be schooled.
Dude, in CA you're limited to 10 rounds in any case, so magazine size should have no say in your choice.
Of course it does. Not every gun has 10 rounds. My P38 has 8 rounds and 1911s have 7-8. If I'm looking at getting a steel frame .45, magazine capacity comes into play. And if I got something else like a Beretta or Glock I could get large capacity magazines if I moved out of state.

So for all those yanks posting about the real guns you have jammed under your pillows, would you care to explain what that's for?
Oh, incase another person with a gun breaks into your house, you say?

I see.

You're wrong there buddy, my 1911 has 10 round magazines. Of course, they're after market, but they're still available. Not too sure if the P38 has them though. Yea, there's the whole moving out of state thing, but handgun capacity should be one of the lesser things on your list then. Besides, if it's for home defense and you've had enough time with it to get used to the firearm, you don't need a huge magazine capacity. In close quarters almost every round will put em down in one shot.

Well, I'm not so certain about guns. If I had to choose one, particularly one that I would be sleeping on, I'd say a fairly standard handgun. Incidentally, I do have a bokken under my bed.

I would have two choices. A pistol, a small one, so I could get to sleep easier, and it would still be effective. However, if I was being completely unrealistic, the MIRV from Fallout 3. HAHAHA! EAT EIGHT MINI NUKES, SUCKERS!!!
