They never set a release date for it. Seriously, how impatient are you guys? It's not that hard to wait for it.

On-topic: No idea about what will happen. But I'm betting the technology inside the Borealis will be used to overthrow the combine, somehow. And I doubt Valve will ever truly explain the motives of the Gman. That's something they will probably leave ambiguous.

They're still making it? I thought they would have jumped to HL3 or something.
Anyways I'm hopeful that they will explain what the hell G-man is this time and possibly closure..

You're right.

It's not hard to wait for before they release a trailer or something.

"It has been stated that Episode Three will be the final episode of the Half-Life 2 universe story arc, but not the end of the Half-Life franchise. However what happens next for the franchise is currently unknown"

Also it they said it would be the last game to feature Gordon Freeman.

Wouldn't you rather have en epic game and an epic story and then wait a bit longer, then having a crappy game released right now? :)

I am really hoping that Breen will show up again.

And I hope that they won't tell you anything about what the Gman actually is. Seriously, imagining the possibilities is way way better than actually having it spoiled.

And I believe that if there is another Portal game, then it will effect Episode 3, or vice versa.

And killing off Gordon might be a good idea. I think that they have given him a bit too much emotion for his own good.

Or just leave him in the clutches of the Gmen, his status "awaiting promotion" then have any other games in the Half Life universe feature a Gman with a goatee.

Just speculation of course.

Gordon Freeman will be caught up in more wacky hijinks, in which he'll drive some kind of vehicle and use a Gravity Gun to solve some puzzles and throw some people around, then it'll end with some kind of heroic battle, and there'll be explosions and guns.

Just then the combine come in, and you need to either chase down Gman and kill him, causeing a super explosion killing all the combine, you, and Alyx, or leacing Gman alone to save Alyx. I'm fairly sure that it's going to continue the downward spiral of the series. That's fine though, I'm sure everyone will love it except me and a select few others. HL2E2 didn't really end on a cliffhanger, it's pretty obvious what's going to happen...

G-Man reveals himself to be Freeman from the future, sent back in time to ensure that the events of Black Mesa and the entire series etc happen. This will then lead off into an entirely new game in which you play as G-Man, fulfilling his part in the HL series.
That's just my idea of what might happen, should the game ever be released... in the year 3285... when we all worship "Zondor The Omnipotent Shaman Of The Wilderness"

Like I said, just a crazy theory...
