You know what could be really cool? A non-canon redo of the original Half-Life, but where Freeman has to drive around the Black Mesa area like he does in 2 and the episodes. It would be, like, an alternate universe game.
Also, Half-Life has already been done in the Source engine. It's actually the version that I played first. Really, the original was just so damn good that every time developers get a new toy, it's totally freakin' worth it to see it used to make the original HL better...
Also, you can play it for free?
I believe I may have just had a nerdgasm...

I saw this on 1fort, and I can't wait. As much as I have a disdain for praising the quality of the game by looking at the graphics, just look at them. The desert at the end looks absolutely incredible. Also, this is not just a "make old levels look better" remake, this is pretty much a whole new game. I'm looking forward to it.
I'm pretty sure it really is just a "make old levels look better" except with a few changes. See that bit where Freeman is coming up in that room with the oddly shaped staircase which looks suspiciously like a small fortress? Exactly the same as the original. Admittedly, it was really good level design, I thought, and deserves to remain unchanged...
