Hold on.

Having recently switched from the Counter Strike : Source Engine to the Team Fortress II engine all you need to play it is a Steam account and any other game that uses the Source Engine. Sounds like a win-win situation to me.
Valve are great guys and really support the modding community but surely that's pushing it a little?

And holy fuck CO-OP!? Yes. God damn it. Yes.

As for a 360 port. I actually wouldn't be suprised considering valve picked up 'still alive' for a xbox live release.

At least it gives visual whores who refuse to play the original a chance to enjoy something similar to the original HL experience.
But it has teh life bars and teh health packs! 2 OLD! 2 OLD! It shuld go in the bad pile with Dues Ex + other olde shooters.

It's very unbelievable, the original HL is at least 20 hours of gameplay.
From the very start, an hour in, you'd probably be around the bit where things are going wrong...

HL is about the same length as HL2, which Valve regards as 30hours of gameplay. Done in 20 yes, done in 4 or less, no...
<url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTUOn2EUFhk>Yes, less than 4 hours is impossible...

Try to think before you post.
Of course. You did a speed run on your first attempt. I call BS.

Downside? I've already played it.
Upside? Old shooters suck (it's true, even if they were the best thing ever "back in the day").
Hey, I still play the original Doom more than half of the games that I own. I don't know why, but no other shooter has been so addicting to me.

I just came.

Hopefully they fix Xen. I played through Half Life way back when and I couldn't get the hang of the jumping. Replayed a few months ago and I had the same problem. You needed to like crouch then jump which I could do on Portal but not on that.

I don't do speed runs, I just happened to complete that game quickly, I have Murrah as a witness.

Awesome stuff, I just recently finally played all the way through the original thanks to the 0.98 deal, and I'd be more than willing to play it again prettier. Though as someone who is awful at FPS games, I hope they nerf Nihilanth at least a little bit in Easy Mode. That thing took me more than two dozen tries.

Wow...

I'm not a big fan of Half-Life 2 though. Because it's taken hours just to get halfway through the damn thing.

I only played the begining of the original because mine was a cracked copy. Hope they port it to the 360 coz my pc is no where near powerful enough to run that
I believe it's a mod, so no, it won't be ported to 360.

I downloaded the hi-res trailer. Looks like they have some pretty sweet graphics additions: Location-tracking texture drawing, dynamic shadows and large-scale 3D Skybox.

The expansions aren't considered canon because they're the work of a different developer and contain quite a few inconsistencies with the original game's storyline. Marc Laidlaw, the series' writer, confirmed that Valve don't consider the expansions canon.
Which I think might actually explain what the corridor that is shown in Ep2 (in Judith's transmission and by the Gman) actually is:

Black Mesa possibly? I can't help feeling that for episode 3 they'd go back there, but the fact that it was nuked in Opposing Force made that seem unlikely; if that game isn't canon then that sounds very promising :)

whyarecarrots, I think they are going to search for the corerola thing and destroy it, it's made by aperture science, not mesa. I hope GlaDOS makes an appearance in HL2e3. As for this game, I seriously can't wait.

Yes, I know that that will also come into it...
Hmm, maybe given the length of these episodes having Black Mesa as well as the Borealis might be a bit unreasonable..

Whilst it looks bloody awesome, the downside is that it'll take even longer for Half-Life 3 to come out. That, and my computer won't be able to play it. Otherwise, BRING ON BLACK MESA!

I can't really invalidate you, having never played Deus Ex. But I do assume you played it when it was still rather new. I also assume that a person like me who hasn't played it when it was new wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much as you did.
As a matter of fact, you just might. These days a lot of people get turned off by the terrible animations and the god-awful AI, but if you play long enough to get past that, you'll realize that the gameplay is far superior to the vast majority of video games that have come out since.

Is two-and-a-bit pages really too much for you to read? This has been clarified several times in this thread already.

Will be really nostalgic to play through it again, especially blowing up the jacket potato in the microwave.
