I don't see why so many people are getting up in arms about this. It's not like your quality of life is somehow diminished by people who still want to play Halo 2. It's their choice if they want to stay on or not, and since Microsoft hasn't kicked them yet, they clearly aren't hurting Microsoft.
I'm not even a major Halo fan and that almost made me cry, I wouldn't even log off for an hour or two just to admire the pure beauty... I'd easily do the same for cod4(when the time comes, we know it will), although it'd be hard to admire a place with gun shots going off in the distance XD...captainwillies said:

PC > Pay a lot now, reap benefits (lower game cost, better visuals, no additional charge for online gaming, upgradability)
PS3 > medium, Pay a decent amount now, still need to suffer the higher cost for games, but you get no additional cost in online services.
Xbox > Low startup cost, pay a lot for games like the PS3, pay a lot for Xbox live over time, pay for wireless if you need it, etc. etc.
Question is, can you front it or do you need to pay for gaming in installments like the Xbox?

Yeah, never actually played Halo 2... actually that's a lie I did once a long time ago. It was a four person match, not online, at some party, I can't even remember what is was anymore. All I know is that I got one kill against the kid who owned the game. His strategy was to jump off of high places with a rocket launcher and fire from midair onto his prey. I got the most random kill against him. I whipped around and without aiming shot him square in the chest with a shotgun just before he fired. It was epic.

Halo 2 was the greatest online shooter ever on consoles. I don't blame them for wanting to keep playing... hell, I would if my friends still played it.
That game and the first Gears of War was so great for the community aspect: EVERYBODY on Xbox Live played them, not this wishy-washy Halo3/CoD4/MW2/Gears 2/Gears1/etc split. I loved how everybody on my friends list was always playing. It was amazing. Bungie did a great job keeping the game fresh with updates, maps, and playlist tweaks.
I wish they would go back to that game's spirit instead of trying to channel Halo CE for Reach. Halo 2 was perfect
