I apologize if this has been mentioned but I do hate these kinds of stories for one big reason.
You say the judge mentioned being disturbed by video games on a youths mental health, well I ask you this:

What about the millions of other people who play violent video games on regular basis and don't snap? Its the same kinda thing people do when for instance a mother has a "premonition" that her child is in danger and it turns out he/she is. That "premonition" only stands out because it was true that one time. She just forgets about every other time she thought something along those lines and it didn't come true.
my apologies for giving mr.vanguard the credit for your brilliance.

but nonetheless i agree with him and you are oh so correct. :D

Hunting. Our species wouldn't have lasted very long without some kind of equalizer against the animal kingdom.

And I really hate to be the one to burst your bubble but if guns didn't exist humans would still find a way to kill each other. Just look at the medievil period.
marry me?

NO. Stand back everyone, 'cos I'm gonna fuckin rage.
He blamed it on videogames and they think that just diminished his responsibility? Bull-fucking-shit. It doesn't matter if videogames influenced him or not, either way he is still too mentally unstable and therefore too dangerous to take a role in a normal society. Halo itself can't take responsibility for his murder, he and he alone is responsible for this and he's a pathetic little shit for trying to shift it onto games.
+1 valid point for mr.vanguard.

Life in prison!? How are our children of today going to learn not to murder their parents unless we make the few little pricks that actually do it fry! Our prison system has become far too soft. We need to bring back the electric chair.

Most violent games do tend to effect most people. Depending on:

The person

The game

How often he plays it and for how long

Oh god not another one of these things.

OMGZ ITS TEH VIDOE GAMEZ FAULT!

Yes yes Michael Atkinson, (and whoeverthehell the american version is, yes I knwo they came frist, I live in america) it was all the games fault! Because, it totally makes sense, that, a totally normal person cant discern between reality and claymation.

Like Aries_Split said there aobut the orange juice ^^

you should be happy to hear that technically, it's still around.
electrocution is still legal in 9 states, the gas chamber is still legal in 5 states, hanging is still legal in 2 states, and believe it or not, firing squad is still legal in 2 states.

though of course the inmate has the choice of lethal injection. guess what the nancies will choose?

Goodness gracious. If you have the time could you possibly give me a list of which states have which. I would be very grateful.

and with a bit of research...

electrocution: alabama, arkansas, florida, kentucky, south carolina, tennessee, & virginia. also, illinois & oklahoma if other methods are declared 'unconstitutional.'

gas chamber: arizona, california, maryland, missouri, & wyoming if other methods are [see above]

hanging: new hampshire & washington.

firing squad: idaho & utah [only if inmates chose it before it became outlawed]. and oklahoma if other methods declared unconstitutional.

enjoy! :]

As I promised I am very grateful. Although I have to admit that I'm rather disappointed. Looks like we're stuck with boring old lethal injection in my state.

So now that teenagers are being tried and sentenced as adults, maybe we should give them some other rights adults have that they too should have: voting, owning property, buying alcohol or porn.
I hate double standards.

i concur! and buying handguns, speak of the devil.
and getting a concealed permit maybe at 18, but i think the test should be more extensive than the one for a 21 year old.

and slightly off subject... a thought! perhaps rather than just checking yes or no on the 'do you have a mental illness' people should get checked. then again i might not have mine then. /:
