I would have to agree, not to mention that Bungie innovates their series more with every Halo game than most other developers.

Think about it, Halo 2 completely revamped multiplayer, changed the health system, and a crapload of weapon mechanics from its predecessor, plus perfecting the party system in multiplayer, and Halo 3 introduced forge (the first map editor for a console FPS), and the theater, which allows you to record games without a capture card, which no other console FPS can do.

These are WAY bigger changes than what most other shooters do, which is just weapons rebalancing, and adding a few new weapons.

All of the people who say Halo is mediocre in terms of gameplay, fine, that's their opinion, but people who say that Halo doesn't innovate are full of shit, it innovates more than any other console FPS.
I only recently found that theatre thingy and has a mess around with it in ODST... it's pretty amazing. Why haven't other games featured this?

I imagine Infinity Ward don't include it because it would show up just how broken MW2 is. See the magic bullets pass through players in slow mo bullet time freeze frames!

So...it's not that Halo is actually bad, it's that you're a PS3 fanboy. Ok, it all makes sense now, you can't find something to complain about with Halo, so you just complained about aim assist, because you had to complain about SOMETHING just out of principle because of your fanboy beliefs that everything about the xbox 360 sucks. Say no more, we get it.
I said my brother owns a PS3, I own an Xbox. I own an Xbox and I'm a PS3 fanboy? That makes sense..

As for Halo, I don't like it because it's not my type of game. It's in that generic science fiction era, with aliens that threaten human existence and shoot guns that sound like farts, the environments are no better in terms of aesthetics either. I don't like the gameplay, the guns feel weak (albeit, the sniper rifle is quite cool) and I don't like shooting down magical shields before being allowed to kill people, it's made even worse when melee does crazy damage and, considering the size of some maps, close range encounters are quite frequent, resulting in "first one to hit the B button wins" battles very often. This, combined with grenade spam, the aim assist and bunny hopping, is what makes this game boring for me. Not to mention the community..

Tell me, why the fucking hell would I play that when I could play something else I enjoy a lot more? It's nothing to do with being a fanboy, I don't like Halo because it's not my type of game and other games interest me more.

I bring up MAG and you instantly assume I'm a fanboy. Fuck you.

My only concern is the maps... Didn't Bungie say they were using maps from the campaign? That seems pretty weak to me.
This bothers me slightly as well. Surely the way you design an environment for the singleplayer campaign is different for designing a multiplayer map? Are they just lazy?

That said, I bear no ill will towards Bungie or their games and I honestly want Reach to be awesome. Because I'll almost definitely be buying it.
I'm hoping the environment of Reach is varied enough to provide enough good maps. I wouldn't doubt Bungie could turn out some great maps, but I think they would SCORE bigtime if they included some classic halo maps.

Seems a lot like Shadow Run to me. Same two main weapons, a semi-auto and full-auto rifle that have the same accuracy system.

Okay that looks like a lot of fun. Not really a Halo fan but I have always quite enjoyed the multiplayer. This looks promising.

Im sure im the only one asking, but can you use Elites in any game mode? Ive only seen them in an Invasion style game and not in a mixed race slayer.
Yeah, you can. In Invasion one team is elites, the other is Spartans.

I've also seen gameplay footage that clearly shows elites battling other elites. So my theory is that there is Spartan versus Spartan gametypes, Elite versus Elite gametypes and Spartan Versus Elite gametypes.

Should be awesome, I love playing as an elite.... as most people on this site have no doubt guessed.
So, just to clarify, we cant use Elites in the same freedom as we have in Halo2/3? They are purely restricted to Invasion?
I've seen just about every video on the multiplayer and I can say this: Invasion and Generator Defense puts elites vs. spartans, spartans always on defense. For the most part, you're going to play as the spartans, since that's the only thing you can fully customize and it translates over to campaign as well. You might be able to play elites vs. elites for special playlists. Since elites have stronger health, regenerating health and they are faster, compared to the spartans, they will only fight against one another in game modes that have offense and defense on seperate, oposing teams.
