Has anyone noticed that Adam Sandler does and is the same thing in all his movies?

Yes, I've noticed this--which is really bad for him, because I can't STAND him and the roles he plays.

Yes he does and that is why he sucks, what he does isn't even comedy, it is basically torture in film format. There is nothing happy about happy gilmore, the best part of that film is Carl Weathers.

Yea, just like every other actor.
This. Once an actor becomes famous for a type of role he gets casted for that same role in just about every single movie he'll ever do from then on. (of course there are exceptions) You can take that list and do the same thing for dozens of actors.

Typecasting, you say?

Ditto Dolph Lundgren, Steven Seagal, Jason Statham, Chris Tucker, and in their N.Am releases, Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Chow Yun Fat.

I'm not saying there's any reason that they don't do well in their type-cast roles (mostly), but sometimes, some variety would be nice. For all that I don't really have much use for Dwayne Johnson movies, he's at least grown as an actor, going from a grunting Egyptian demon-critter to a juvenile-rom-com phenom. His movies still largely suck, but at least Walking Tall was better than that John Cena abortion, The Marine.
Off topic but I do like Dwyane Johnson's acting....at least in Walking Tall and Runaway or whatever it was called. It's a shame he signs up for crappy scripts and so many kids movies, because I think if you gave him good material he would do rather well.

What about that movie he did for disney where he just tells stories to his neice and nephew that eventually come true? I'm not sure if there was romance in that movie and I'm pretty sure he didn't just start random acts of violence?
there was TWO girls and in one of the stories he fights it was a lame and kiddish fight but it was a fight nevertheless

I liked him better in SNL.

His movies are just like hour and a half long skits.

Here is a list of of the stuff he does and is in his movies:
- Hes lovable
- He is always the good guy
- Hes funny
- Hes always and I mean ALWAYS hurting someone in ALL of his movies (seriously at a while it gets REALLY tiring to see him sucker punch every guy thats looks at him funny)
- He ALWAYS wins ( except in Funny People)
- There is a romance in ALL the movies.
- The bad guy is usually ganged up on and locked up somewhere while Adam makes out

what does this have to do with gaming?
We are talking about how the guy that does comedy ALWAYS does comedy which can also be interpreted to games in a sense that the sci-fi FPS protagonist is almost ALWAYS a gruff dude with a short haircut that has some F---ed up past, or any other game for that matter

Yeah, he seems to do okay in stuff like Walking Tall, and even the movie with Stiffler wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't have paid money to see them in theatres. They were worth watching as a rental, though.

Yes, as do Jim Carey & Robin Williams. If you've seen one of their movies, you've seen all of them.
That actually makes it kind of odd that I like Jim Carrey and Robin Williams (their comedy stuff at least), but not Adam Sandler. Hmmm.

With the exception of The Trueman show, Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind and Good will hunting.

Adam Sandler was great in funny people.

What about Reign Over Me? That movie hardly conforms to any of the standards you layed out there.
Reign o'er me was the only movie where I came close to crying. Close. Then the testosterone in my body sucker punched my tear ducts.

OT: In funny people he really was quite... honest. The others were exaggerated. But hell whatever he is, he is good at it.

Insomnia does not fit the mold of a williams movie.
