Small flaws don't typically ruin a game for me. If the game has a major flaw, however, I have a hard time playing it. Also, what can be considered a "flaw" is really a matter of opinion. Some things that I like about a game, another person may not like, and therefore, could be considered a flaw to them. What I consider a small flaw may also annoy another person enough for them to consider it to be a major flaw that ruins the game for them. For example, I didn't particularly hate the Mako in Mass Effect 1. It had enough flaws in it to be a turn-off for some people, but I thought it had a lot of potential to be good if it had been improved in Mass Effect 2. When I heard that BioWare decided to take the Mako out of Mass Effect 2, I was somewhat disappointed. While I think the game can still be great without it, I would have liked to see how they would have improved the Mako sections of the game to appeal to people who thought it was broken. Oh well, maybe they will bring it back and improve it for Mass Effect 3.
Anyway, like I said, small flaws don't bother me, but major ones can sometimes ruin a game for me if there are enough of them to make the game suck. Maybe this is why I didn't hate the Mako. It had a lot of small flaws, but nothing major in my opinion, even though some people considered the Mako to be one major flaw in and of itself.
