I think this is great as well! I think that every game in the LOZ series are amazing and nearing perfection, accept for TP. None of the games apart from OoT surpass each other.

Valve have produced the nearest-to-perfect games that I've played. If there ever will be a perfect game, I bet it'll be from them.
QFT

The commentary always surprises me as to just how many details they work out in... well, great detail.

Timesplitters 2. It does everything it needs to brilliantly, plus a little bit more, and does that amazingly too!

I can't believe that even to this day, no game can rival the Timesplitter's amount of weapons, characters, maps and modes.

You could say: "Oh, it's too difficult!" But I will respond with a swift kick in the ass. Old school difficulty is nothing to be afraid of.

All who disagree with me will face the wrath of fingers in my ears while I scream "LA LA LA LA LA!" to drown out the noises.

*Fingers at the ready*
Just fuckin' try me.
Super. Mario. Bros. 3.

And I will gouge out my eyes if you disagree as it doesn't matter if you plug your ears as you will still read that SMB3 is better than M3.

THE FUCK DID YOU SAY?
THE FUCK DID YOU SAY?!

Sorry, but I found SMB3 paled in comparison to Mother 3's epic storytelling and witty characters.

To all the people suggesting specific games: Fuck you. It's impossible. No game is truly flawless, and appealing to everyone. There never has been, and never will be.
Woah calm down, just peoples opinions.

I believe there have been perfect games, but most of them are only perfect due to their sheer simplicity. Tetris is the foremost example. These games, though perfect for what they are, are not the greatest games of all time.

The GREATEST game of all time, Fire Emblem 7, still isn't perfect because of how annoying it is to actually MAKE supports, requiring a shitload of time sitting next to a unit. FE9 had a better support system, but the characters weren't as interesting as in 7. FE10 tried to sweep supports as characterization out in favor of purely statistcal supports and the info convesations of FE9. This crippled the characterization, particularly because THE ENTIRE PLAYABLE CAST OF FE9 (except Largo, who still appears), plus the fuckload of new playable characters, made it the largest cast of any Fire Emblem. FE11 cut info, support, and just about everything else in favor of a lackluster remake of the very first game with a couple new maps, characters, and gameplay mechanics all of which had the depth of a glass of water.

So yeah, there's been perfect games, but they aren't perfection in the sense that they can't be surpassed.
You make a good point, people can have their greatest game ever. Doesn't have to be perfect!

Yes. Ocarina Of Time.

Goodbye.
no it wasn't, the graffix were terrible, there where a few bugs, and the gameplay was improved upon by wind waker. If anything is perfect that means that no improvements of any sort can be made to it. i just mentioned possible improvement to OOT thereby proving it is not perfet.
(disclaimer, OOT was still pretty good for its time)

Psh... You guys have forgotten what is truly a perfect game.

I believe that 'Dirty Harry' for the NES is the unequivocal standard of the quote, unquote 'perfect' game. There. You heard it here first.

I have several games that score 9.9 recurring on my list, and anyone who has ever read a post by me about games should know which ones they are:

Tales of Symphonia.
Why it's not a 10: Cruel and unforgiving in places, and one of those games where there was sometimes stuff they expected you to find but didn't give you a single clue as to where it might be I want Zelos AND Kratos, damn it.

Tales of Symphonia 2: Dawn of the New World (just finished again ten minutes ago; the secret ending makes me cry {T.T})
Why it's not a 10: Due to the budget cuts, they cut out the goddamn map travel. Also, slightly shorter than the first, due to aforementioned reason.

Skies of Arcadia.
Why it's not a 10: Goddamn random encounter rate, and the voice acting. Also, I'm pissed off with it now because somehow I've managed to miss two moonfish, and I'm right near the end.

Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword.
Why it's not a 10: Cruel. Last turn of the battle, all's going well and? FUCK! Me archer's dun copped it. Oh, well, that's another three hours down the drain...

Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones.
Why it's not a 10: Kinda short. Also, obviously, suffers from Fire Emblem Disease (see above).

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance.
Why it's not a 10: FED.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.
Why it's not a 10: Ike and Elincia =/= major canon pairing anymore [sub]except in my heart *sniffles*[/sub]. Also, FED.
