I still enjoy Zero Punctuation. His viewpoints are very similar to my own.

Also, I originally came here because of ZP, but I stayed for the forums.
+1

I've also been working my way back through reviews he did before I had heard of him, of games that I either own, or have owned/played previously. Then again, I'm so new here that the novelty is probably a way off from wearing thin for me I guess.

Welcome to the Escapist. So how are you liking it here so far?

i wouldn't say its Gone just yet, but it is Slowly getting there. That's the risk with something like Animated Reviews; you can only do so many.

I enjoy it. It's not a laugh a second but I find the reviews quite useful. They're certainly more useful than the typical Escapist reviews anyhow.

It's still going to be profusely popular. I still think it is the second most over-appreciated show on the Escapist.
What's the first?
Rebecca Mayes Muses.
Thank you. Put bluntly she gets away with it because shes attractive.

Still I think ZP is still excellent. Its very witty and I like to hear the bad stuff about the game especially when Ive picked up on it too.
she is? could've fooled me.
OT: I don't find ZP funny then again I don't find most things funny, so maybe its not him.

well its like what yathzee said in his review of call of duty: modern warfare 2. "shock is only good once you do it once. once you start doing it over and over, it loses shock". i think that if you watch it regularly like some of us do, we may become accustomed to all the shock of what he says and how he says it.

i still find it f&$#ing hilarious though.

Thanks! It's different to gaming forums that I've been on before. It certainly seems a lot more, well, civilized (for want of a better word) than other sites I have used. The screaming 12 year old quotient seems to be much lower here! In short, I like very much.

Well i have to say i love hearing him rant on games that i am familiar with and love the jokes made about them. I wouldn't go by his word on which games to play or not as i have liked a lot of games that he doesn't, but all in all i find the jokes made to be hilarious and believe that as long as new games come out for him to rant about i will keep watching just to see how he compares some funny aspects of games to other things that i never thought about and get a quick chuckle out of, (even though my family thinks i am crazy because they don't play games hence don't understand why i am laughing)so i have to say i love it and will always watch it for as long as i have a few minutes to kill.

Yeah, this place kicks /v/ upside the head. Firstly, we have much better moderation here. Secondly, idiots are pruned out leaving only the best behind.

I don't know... not really. I still find his videos pretty funny. I mean, when I first watched them over a year ago I was laughing so hard I was nearly in tears, but now they've lost the magic. He hasn't run his course just yet, but I think that they are lowering in quality. That's not to say that they aren't funny.

i dunno, once you get over the 'controversy' of what he says you appreciate the points that he actually makes about the games. They aren't as funny, but they are more informative.
Yeah, I agree with this. When I go to buy I game, I usually see if he's reviewed it because he usually has some good points, and doesn't give a perfect score to whatever game was advertised the most

I bet ZP will still go for a few years. Until a dev finally loses it and bludgeons Yahtzee to death with a baseball bat that has all his criticisms written on it.
I agree with this guy

No, no it has not.

It might sound strange, but Yahtzee isn't here to make you laugh. He is here to be the person who says 'no IGN, it's not a fucking 8 or 9, its a 4 at best. You're full of shit.'

Much like music and film reviewers, game reviewers have limited standards. I mean IGN gave Halo 2 9.8 (not a jab at Halo, i love the series).

For me, Yahtzee is the man who tells it like it is, and adds expletives and dildo pictures to make sure the game developers don't cry themselves to sleep because of their ineptitude.

It's still funny.

[Voice Over]
So long as there are games to play, and corporate decisions to be made fun of; so long as there is something worth critiquing and something that falls beneath its true potential; there will be Yahtzee, with his hat and a few swear words to punctuate the ridiculousness of it all.
[/Voice Over]

He still makes valid points and is still quite a draw for people to the Escapist, so I think that even if some people find him predictable he should stay so he can entertain new people who are unfamiliar with his unique form of wit.

If he really is predictable though, you would wonder why game companies wouldn't fix all the problems he will make fun of before he can make fun of them. Especially considering that many companies actually watch his videos.
