He reviews stuff in his own way, I still find it funny and honest. So no, I doubt that wil lbe the case anytime soon.

...No. He's funny. If Penny Arcade can keep up the same formula for over a decade, why would ZP not be able to after 2 years?
And I like PA before I get an earful.

I still love ZP, I like his style of humor and I agree with many of his points. I think people who agree with the points he brings up will find it more funny because they can relate to what he is saying.

Personally I think ZP is the only thing this site has to offer (except for the forum) that is worth anything.

If you notice, ZP's quality of material depends mostly on the release of extremely popular games. There was a bit of a dip back at the end of last summer, mainly due to having to pull out a few gimmicks to ensure his review of an all around bland game didn't suffer the same effect (Wolfenstien, Tales from Monkey Island). However, during the fall and onward, the release of many, many new titles have given him the chance to really grind out an entire spectrum of games, all different in so many ways, that many people have played and can relate to the more frustrating aspects.

Yahtzee really is at his best when he speaks the truth. I find myself laughing my hardest when he speaks in his fast-talking hilarity about a segment of a game that really irked me personally. Even if I love the game, it's funny to point out the flaws that pissed me off.

OP: Whatever, every review has at least 1 in 4 comments along these lines, and another 1 of the 4 is along the lines of "I thought this show had run it's course after the last few videos but this one put it right on top again."
I haven't seen any 'redeeming' episodes for a while now. What are the other half of the comments then?
Looks for them yourself, I'm not your mum.
Sorry I was assuming you'd climb off your high horse to complete a simple statement.

Silly me...
The statement was complete. Only an idiot would think otherwise.
I'm going to stop this here...

Huh? From where I'm sitting, he seems to have gotten his groove back for the past ten or so reviews. The stuff between Resident Evil 5 and Scribblenauts were all at best hit-or-miss (with a couple of standouts like Call of Juarez and Wolfenstein), but I've been loving the reviews again since Uncharted 2.

Even if its getting dull its still a very good place to figure out if a game is good or not.

Why'dd you think they give a badge for watching even ONE, and another one for seeing "more than one"... And, for the record, she's not that attractive. YEAH, I SAID IT!

Ahum, 'bout Yahtzee.
I hated the borderlands AND the mass effect review, but then again, I loved the Darksiders review. Guess it's just a bit hard to review certain games, but when it's on, IT'S ON!

I don't think that it's over yet, but there have been some lesser vids lately. The old stuff was new and refreshing, the newer vids were innovative, but some vids are more of the same, spread really thin. But it's still Yahtzee getting worked up and talking really fast, and if you let it take you in, it's not bad.(Branston Pickle refference;))

Anyway, I hope the BioShock 2 review is going to rock my world and prove Stranger of Sorts wrong(respecting his opinion and being nice blah-de-blah blah).
I think you may have hit on something; he himself is probably spread quite thin, between the reviews, the Mana Bar, the book, and trying to make Game Damage work.
While Game Damage died(he said so in an interview, tv station rejected it), the book will probably be a letdown(stick to what you do best, that's why Shakespeare never wrote deathmetal songs!) and the Mana Bar, well, I for one will never come there, since Melbourne is litteraly on the other side of the earth...
Bear in mind Yahtzee has been writing short stories FAR longer than he's been doing game reviews.
True, but a short story is something totally different from a full length novel.

I haven't read anything from him, if his reviews are anything like his writing, I hope he makes it an audiobook...

I think that it's still good, but the guy needs a break. I mean, he's been doing this every week for around 3 years, with only around 2 episodes off. I think that, once his book comes out, he should go away for a month or so, recollect his thoughts, and recharge. I think that if he does that, he could potentially come back and be funny again. It's not so much that he's no longer funny, he's just burnt out.

No, and even if his reviews aren't as funny anymore, it's still entertaining. He is one of the few reviewers that can go a whole episode just being funny and then go a whole episode of not being very funny, but giving a lot of good points about games and still be entertaining. Because of that ZP with probably not get stale for a long time.

Hmm but he hated Borderlands but I think that game is amazing. But then again that probably applies to all reviews, people have their opinions.

By now i'm so used to watching it. I will still watch it even if it's crap. (which it isn't)
It's not as entertaining for me as it used to be.

I for one like it, and if that makes me some sort of uncultured dullard, well then "I'd rather be stupid and having fun than be bored out of my huge genius mind", Yahztee .

I hope you're talking about the British version of The Office, because the American version is still pretty damn good after all this time.

OT: Nah. ZP is still as good as ever. I actually don't think I could get tired of those videos unless he started doing nothing but boring games. As long as he is willing to hit games that are popular as well as hit obscure titles that only he cares about, it remains interesting to someone like me.

It's still going to be profusely popular. I still think it is the second most over-appreciated show on the Escapist.
What's the first?
Rebecca Mayes Muses.
Thank you. Put bluntly she gets away with it because shes attractive.
Hah, her looks doesn't make the videos worth watching with that "music" in the background...

I thought ZP was funny when I first saw it.
I still think ZP is funny.
I think ZP is very informative now, too.
ZP has not run its course.

In my opinion I still think it's funny. Ok so the dick jokes are immature but we don't exactly expect "maturity" here.

This. You don't like it? don't watch it.

Personally I watch the new ones with glee and am always entertained. So much so that I look forward to Wednesdays for it.
