Because humanity has always countered something great with something awful. Until people manage to put aside their hatred for each other we really aren't worth a damn as a race, the best way to sum up human progression in regards to each other i think can best be described by everyones favourite pessimist round here "one step to the side then one step back into a ditch full of used surgical equipment"

Why all the hate for humanity on this website?
I know that its everywhere on the internet, but in the past few days I've seen it everywhere here! Like every other thread someone posts about how humans are cockroaches!
It wasn't so bad until I stumbled upon "the box" thread about killing a stranger for a million bucks. And the majority said they would do it happily? Sorry, but WHAT THE FUCK. I don't know, but it's just kind of depressing, you know?

So other internet people, how do you feel about this, or maybe somebody can explain to me why they hate humanity so, so much.

Nobody has lived a full life without hurting somebody. People are scummy assholes. Why say somebody is decent before they prove it to you?

I've yet to hear some squirrels discussing how humanity pisses them off, or heard a rock say how angry he was that the human who walked by earlier was annoying as hell.

I'm the complete opposite of misanthropes.
I believe Humanity is glorious, capable of achieving anything and is greater then anything else in existence.

I hate misanthropes with a burning passion.

I also believe humanity is capable of achieving glorious goals and that it is a species brimming with potential.

And that is probably the main reason (in overly simplified terms) why I hate my species with such a burning passion.

Funny, ain't it? XD

How could I possibly hate humanity when we're so funny. We are unique amongst the species of Earth as we will do anything that we can possibly do. We have created art, penned high philosophy, maimed ourselves for fun, flown to other worlds, skullfucked dead sheep, etc.

I expect that when we meet new intelligent life forms; they will be surprised at our efforts to study/fuck/kill/eat/befriend them. They will say: "Why? Why does your people have no taboos? How have you fellows come to be capable of actions which we cannot comprehend?" Then we will respond: "Because we are the species that will do anything. We are the sluts of the galaxy."

I know. It's one of the little things that bugs me about the Escapist sometimes, but I love you guys, so I stay.

What really annoys me too, are the people who call themselves "realists" in order to promote their cynical/pessimist attitude.

I think it's because most Escapists are not human. They are forum posting machines that pretend that they play video games, go to work/school, eat, wash themselves, etc.

Here's the reason. Well, not really, it's just me presuming, but it's what I think of the whole thing.

The majority of the people on this website are teenagers. Or at least the regular posters. Myself included.

The majority of these teenagers are nerds. This means that they've most likely been bullied, rejected, whatever. I know, this happened to me. The way your mind reacts to this is to build up a superiority complex. It's just a way to rationalize things. They are bullying you because they are weak, and feeble minded, whatever.

Sadly, this extends to the rest of the world in time, and eventually, you just end up a jaded misanthrope. Thankfully, most grow out of it.

That's my take on it anyway. I used to be like that, hating humanity, or at least humanity in general, wanting to kill us all, all that shit.

Thank heavens that your "theory" doesn't apply to myself. Being such a cliché misanhrope would be so very tasteless. : /
