and the traitors arrive in the thread at last.
Are you so removed from the rest of your race that you do not see our good?
Do you stupidly think that every bad thing you hear happens is something that everyone does?!

You all are so blinded by how you want to view humanity to see our greatness! Our good! Our ability to care and love!
There is good in Mankind.

The good in mankind lies within his charity and ability to help others.

The bad in mankind is his unfailing ability to destroy his brother and his limitless capacity for war, violence and brutality.

Oftentimes, the good in man is outweighed by his bad. Perhaps hating humanity is not so much an act of treason but of disappointment. I don't personally subscribe to this theory but I'm sure somebody out there does.

It could be because most people are idiots, though I agree with others who posted here, probably most of the site is immature and suffer with "I'm cool if I hide behind my virtual me and act extraordinarily" syndrome.

I say I hate people all the time but honestly I really just like being alone better then I like being with people. I wouldn't want to kill anyone or anything.

It could be that many people on this site are angst teenagers who just discovered that the world isn't all fine and dandy.

Once they either change it or deal with it(Like I am at this moment), they grow out of it.
Yeah, ok. I am a bit teen angsty. I'm not going to argue with that.
Don't worry. Just find something to live for and the angst will go away....

While part of me sees this post and cries "niave, idealist, altruism lol" i have to admit i see the allure of seeing the best in humanity. Then again i see these misanthropes and think

"heh teenage angst at its worst " I hate everything, everything sucks, i know some stuff now and im gonna pretend like im all enlightened to the fact the world is crap, look how smart and OLD I AM!"

I like to think that if we wanted to we could pretty much achieve anything we wanted. Put together superhuman efforts of love and compassion for no reason other than the need to help our fellow man. For now people stand divided but my ultimate ideal is a one world nation. If theres a problem the whole of humanity moves as a whole to help, a unified movement of every soul on earth for every other. Acting as a people rather than a division of nations. The second we actually get our arses in gear and actually work with each other (and its coming, look at how we progress toward it, total unfication and agreement on working together for humanity as a whole instead of our little segement) then the stars will be the limit. Or not as it may be.

These people stand in the way of our glorious advance to total co operation and i opose them entirely. They stand for everything im against. Of arrogance and the need for selfish gain. Everyone working for something greater than themselves, the knowlage their work goes toward the whole of humanity.

Dont worry teddy, look at our achievements. For justice, and everything we build instead of destroy. Look at the compassion everywhere. These people will not be around for ever. We are moving away from that, some people are just adamant to be different for the sake of it and opose everything out of angst. It fades. People become more altruistic the longer we stay around.

I like humanity.

I don't like people.

Unlike most, my reasons aren't "because I watch House".

I don't agree with many of the social stigmas and stereotypes people subscribe to, I don't like how people are almost incapable of forming their ideas and opinions and just do what everybody else does and I don't like that people rarely be themselves. That, combined with the "herd effect" of humans. When you get a lot of people together they generally just start agreeing with each other on everything because they're afraid to hurt other peoples' feelings. I am by no means a mean person but I think people should be honest rather than lie to your face about what they think.

Humans are highly intelligent animals.

People are not.

Hope that makes some sense.
This, word for word, is exactly how I feel. Humans have so much potential, but individual personalities in a collection sometimes are so detrimental toward that.

i cant say i dont get why people hate humanity.... the thing is that the flaws exist for one and only reason: natures a *****.
these human traits were created and implied on the human DNA because of natural selection, meaning that the people who had these trait survived longer and better then those who didnt....

the reason i myself dont hate humanity is because of the pure potential.... humanity can reach to amazing landmarks if we try...

but then again, for what? what use is there for humanity to expand beyond earth, other then the selfish needs of surviving by pillaging other worlds and the wonders of the universe?

Exactly!
So very true.
Seems we have something in common! And you're a Humanist, too!? When I begin construction and detailed conception of my nation-fleet somewhere down the line, I'll be sure to give you a buzz. =D

I'd say there's more hatred online because people can hide them selves! It be true and yous know it! I could type abunch of hate and at worst be kicked out, but no one will walk up to my door and bring up a face-to-face, ya' know? So people can express how they feel about things and take the anger to new hights! Although I like to think people just want to be unique, and in turn become the norm, so they try to hate everything. People are probably, for the most part, nice, just short-tempered around people who ask silly things (espcially if they don't know the guy asking)

That being said I love people, well, learning from them anyways, i'm too lazy to hate people. That takes alot of effort and arguments and, I for one, don't win arguments ho-ho-ho (^0^)/

Well that's my answer, in the mean time let's have jello and some water! WHEE!

Aren't you a fascist? I.e. The majority of mankind is too stupid to make decisions for itself?

Seems kinda clashing to think humanity is great but also feel that we're too dumb to look out for ourselves.

(I apologise if I have the wrong person here, I just remember someone with a similar name who was...)

To be fair, we as a race are gonna break the planet.
I love how your picture is of Cloud, who saves the world from being destroyed and your talking about them destroying it! Haha, sorry i've been playing Final Fantasy seven lately and found this amusing...I'm gonna shut up now...

I don't hate humanity/mankind, but I do hate some people, and that's inevitable, but I still have hope for the world!
He was also an eco-terrorist fighting against humans that were literally sucking the planet dry. :p

Marry me.

But seriously, the entire point of misanthropy just seems pointless to me, sure we all have people we don't like, but humans are awesome, basically.

We have music, we have culture, we're the first species on the moon, we built everything on this planet from The Great Wall to the Pyramids.

And we have this guy...
That's enough to make any misanthropic individual rear away hissing, since Stephen Fry cannot be hated.
